I myself am not African American but even watching this speech, takes my respect for JFK to a new level. To be from the rich and fortunate background he came from, you think he'd be arrogant and unpleasant and possibly even racist growing up in that era,he had none of those bad qualities. And I applaud our dear humble president for his beautiful character.
it was just a hypothetical question... how about you stop ranting about your political opinions that nobody really cares about. this is youtube and there are many things to see that are way more interesting than your opinions, like videos of paint drying.
@ThevanGoghBlues If L.B.J didn't kill Kennedy, Kennedy definitely would have done more than any president. But unfortunately, that "burden" fell on L.B.J. who is on tape calling african americans the "N" word. He is a liar and a horrible man.
if you understand and translate his politics he would match up with libertarian-leaning conservative today not liberal if gay rights today equals civil rights back then and if cutting taxes back means he would do it today then that means libertarian not liberal so if any thing jfk would be for ron paul or gary johnson
Kennedy was mad when money was spent on air force one for new furniture he was a conservative democrat he would have bitch slapped Obama for the piss poor management of the countries finances because it was Kennedy who helped put them into order during his short presidency. He is no Kennedy...
Severe Civil rights crimes are committed in Canada by authorities against citizens who try to use their constitutional civil right of not talking to them. This anti-democracy, authority attacks happen with lazer/tazer type guns which work through concrete walls of your home from outside or even the floor above. They rape women with these high power guns, also abuse their access to high ranking officials giving them one side of false story against citizen who questions their abuse of power.
Kennedy's speech writer that recently died Ted Sorenson, and Kennedy himself made magic together when it came to speeches. Sorenson, the writing and Kennedy relaying it. It's speaks volumes in my opinion. They were the TRUTH!
Nothing but pure common sense in a damn good speech.
The issue wasn't whether all americans have equal Constitutional Rights under Law but whether or not they were being enforced for all americans. They clearly weren't which was why the 1964 Civil Rights Act was so important.
Jfk Is a man inspiration. Regardless of his dark secrets. America would truely be a different place today if he would have lived on. R.I.P mr Kennedy.
omg he said nigro...did u hear that..omg we should go shoot his ass...oh wait im white and i said it to....whole shit bout whites calling blacks niga/nigro is Bull shit...its not ok for us to say it but its ok for black to black to say it....
@maam31 Dont worry about it, Be just respectfull that's important. I dont have a issue when he said that. Maybe other people. But its all about the message!
Under the US Constitution all people in the country are equal under law. All people in America have Equal Rights under Law. That wasn't the issue or problem. The problem was that Southern States weren't enforcing the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution for African Americans which made the 1964 Civil Rights Act & the 1965 Voting Rights Act necessary.
despite the personal controversy this family had, but one thing as public figures, the Kennedy's stood up for what was right when no one would, from civil rights, to humanity, and health care. now that all 3 brothers are gone. america has been blessed to have had the Kennedy's in our lives which it was Jack, Bobby, or Teddy. they all did their purpose in our lives, may their legacy live on.
@sgs446 I think he would have responded favorably, though, much like his brother Teddy, he wouldn't have been quick to give anyone his endorsement. (The Hillary campaign started out strong but ran out of steam, which shows there are few certainties in politics).
@sgs446 His daughter, Caroline Kennedy, openly supported Obama with open arms, much to the dismay of Hilary Clinton. I'm sure JFK would have done the same.
@sgs446 like the rest of us, if he wasn't black, he wouldn't have been elected. Hoodrats and gangbangers all turned out to vote for Obama, not for his political views which most of them wouldn't understand, but solely on the chance of there being a black president.
@sgs446 OMG!! Who is this dude? He would not approve that Obama is so far to the left. Kennedy was indeed a moderate - but he would be glad to know that race relations have been improved.
the intriguing thing about kennedy is that his views on race relations were truly progressive intellectually.....he had no blacks in his inner circle and din't grow up with black people so his views are purely intellectual and quite unique for someone of his background. further proof of a moral awakening than nuture....
Yeah, I know that always struck me too. I mean, he comes from a rich, snobbish family...you'd think he'd have some superiority issues, but he didn't. His main problem with Civil rights early on was not that he thought blacks shouldn't have them, it was that he just didn't understand how bad the situation was for blacks, because he obviously never experienced it. But all it took was some appalling race riots to get him really pissed. I think the memories of No Irish Need Apply signs clinched it.
That is what makes the Kennedy brothers very intresting. Joe Kennedy himself was a racist, but his sons Jack, Bobby, and Teddy were for Civil Rights and Immrigration reform. I laugh at people who think JFK didn't care about Civil Rights, he cut his neck poltical to create a bill, if he cared about his politcal future, he wouldn't have doen so.
WOW! I have a new found respect for JFK I am kind of young and i never really paid much attention to any political issues i didnt care which is probably the most ignorant thing i can admit to Until now I decided to study some of the men that my race have deemed as great men before my time I am so greatful for JFK now having researched him and his views on different issues pertaining to African Americans directly He was a great man! I LOVE U JFK!
The first black Secret Service Agent, Bolden claimed that some of the white agents were saying Kennedy was a nigger lover who they would not take a bullet for. Well after this speech, he's dead before the year is out - November 22, 1963. Wonder if it's related to that?
Look a blacks today. Thugs and criminals.
