You been watching too much fox news lol, the F-22 is still being built we just lowered the numbers to 152 instead of the original 300 to replace the F-15 fleet. Bush signed that back in November and Obama continued it when he was placed in office. Hell only 50 of these birds can dominate the sky so 152 is extra credit. By the way E4 Senor Airman USAF C-17 crew. The crazy thing is the horizontal stabilizers feel like skin not metal. Have you touched one. If your a civilian the answer is no.

im in the academy and we were told the same thing. they are cutting the F-22 program but not scrapping it. There are around 160 built and they are stopping there, and going with the F-35 as the primary fighter!

The F-35 is in no way meant to be the primary fighter. It is "Multi-role"; not fitted for full air superiority like the F-22 is. The F-35 is more geared towards ground attack.

Actually they're planning to mothball the line @ 187 planes...not 152, and so far even that isn't confirmed...our 'wonderful' secretary of defense has been pushing for an end of the line, but *so far* congress won't approve of the $170+ million to shut it down(thanks to HI senator Daniel Ken Inouye)...let's hope that this senator shows congress how short-sighted Gates is being and that they keep the line going...
