Wow... she really rocks on this song! Giving Dusty and Martha a run for their soulful money. Brava. I love her sexier look, too... the softer pageboy and stylish dress. Just fabulous. I live for this stuff.
Was this the program on which the performers lip-synched (or "mimed," as the Brits say) their hits and at the show's end had to wave good-bye to the viewing audience?
I read about some such Brit TV show in a Rolling Stones biography, because the Stones had some disdain for it. It was either this one or "Tops Of The Pops," or "The Old Grey Whistle Test," I think?
In any event, the format sounds strikingly similar to "American Bandstand," the "Spin-A-Disc" feature merely aping the "Rate-A-Record" segment of "AB."
My favorite Brit pop music TV show is "Ready Steady Go!," which has the feeling of looking in on a very hip British nightclub. "RGS!" was also noteworthy for its fab hostess, Cathy McGowan, and frequent guest hostess Dusty Springfield, who hosted an all-Motown, special edition of the program.

Excuse me, it was supposed to read "RSG! [not "RGS!"] was also noteworthy," etc.
Unfortunately, no way to edit a posting once a comment's been submitted to You Tube.
