I think this routine,along with Freddie Starrs speeded up song/act are two of the funniest pieces of comedy ever.

Both very hard to do.

Both artistes have/had a whole collection of different, very funny routines which I do not think have ever been fully appreciated.

I think only nowadays when there is a complete lack of anything remotely funny, that you can see how good they really were.

I will probably slagged off for saying this.

@clearly Did you read his life story ? some is on the internet - he's 86 now and still working. Oldest of 8 kids brought up poor in Hull in a two bedroom house with no indoor toilet or hot water. He said he had to heat the water and wash all his brothers & sisters for his Mum,standing them on the table and do errands like go to the bakers shop at the end of the day to begg for stale pastry and go bid for cheap meat joints.He was a gunner in the army what a legend ! Still married to same girl

@TheKenfig No I didnt read that. He looks that kind of bloke though. I'm 66 next Saturday and I had it easy compared to him. Married to the same sweet girl for 45 years in July. I'm luckier than I deserve compared to Norman. Bless his heart.

@clearly Well done ! But Norm has done well for himself and has enjoyed his life too with kids and grandkids and lots of fans. A great clip of him on here is 'Tarby & Friends' I think it's called if you haven't seen it ; with Jimmy Tarbuck and he does a great routine then chats with Jimmy and pulls lots of fun props from a bag - hilarious !

When I first started driving a cab we were on radio, and when we were a little bit out of the area, like 3 miles away, the operater always used to say `you sound like Norman bleed`n Collier`.

Loved being on stage with Norman - and off stage he is just as funny. We had a great time (or tarm) as they say in 'ull when we performed at the Beachcomber in Cleethorpes and he walked on with the car door - what a hoot!! LOve you Norm, Bob.
