Oh, I don't know. I used to think the same of the "Bewitched" movie. I don't think its supposed to be the same. Believe it or not but I met the original cast some years ago.
Wow. I never knew until now that they used to show the sponsor's product in the end credits. Try doing that today--the end credits are anamorphically squeezed into the side or bottom of the screen and scrolled so fast that they're impossible to read.
Yes, all shows would put the sponsor's product at the end - and that IS why you always see that space on re-runs! The Monkees were great, it was usually Kellogg's cereals!
thanks for the info re sponsors - its interesting to know these things - Get Smart still holds up after all this time- writing and acting was spot on ! By the way does anyone out there have the clip where James Caan was on Get Smart - he played the evil brother of a Moldavian prince or something like that!!
Ah, yes, this was the week when Lever Brothers {makers of Lifebuoy} sponsored "GET SMART". R.J. Reynolds {Salem} was the alternate sponsor- this is why Max "lit up" in virtually every episode. The sponsor's product was orginally flashed during the closing credits...and the cast usually delivered an "integrated" commercial for the product at the end of the episode.
Hahaha. That was very funny. I think my favorite parts were when Max turned the light on himself and when the guy was trying to confess and 99 and Max were discussing grammer.

Mission Impossible's Barbara Bain really worked for KAOS? Unthinkable! LOL. I remember this.

Barbara Bain was a childhood crush of me in "Space:1999". A nice surprise to see her in "Get Smart" (after 30 years...)

caricaballo1, Barbara Bain is pretty sweet too. A nice break from the serious roles she's played.

I didn't know, either. Now I know why there was always that space left in the lower left-hand corner on so many shows' end credits.
