  • you should give a number to your video's, I have no idea where to start watching your tutorials

  • Wow this doesn't help at all

  • From Australia and used to think what a stupid game to much padding , played 2 games at quarter back in the local comp out here - hooked-great game

  • Complaining about padding and helmets in American football is as silly as complaining about them in cricket. You need them.

  • i rather watch European fooooooootball

  • Rugby players are taught to keep their head down during collisions, american football players not so much so they end up getting concussions.

  • @catch22af If you keep your head down in American Football you will break your neck. The force of American Football hits are harder. While most of the time the padding helps with the force of impact if you keep your head down the force of the blow will crack your neck. I have played American Football and we learn to keep our head up while tackling and to try and contact the other player with the facemask rather than the crown of the helmet.

  • Can anybody throw the ball to another teammate or is that just the 'backs?

  • Football players dont wear pads because there stronger then rugby players, they wear them because Football rules are alot more rough then Rugby rules. the only similarity between these 2 sports is they both tackle. Rugby is as close to football as it is soccer. You cannot compare these 2 sports and if you dont believe me learn the rules of both sports and try to compare them yourself, you will find its very difficult

  • Did you learn that from play station?

  • American Handegg

  • @Flegmatica European gay orgy

  • @Hoest52 American "humour"

  • who the fuck cares its football lol

  • great rushing plays*

  • if you guys want to see some great plays, click on my profile because this guy named Devon Wylie who is playing for fresno state and is going to go pro. he went to my highschool and his highlight video is on my main video on my channel

  • y do thay call it "football" when they use their hands for 99% of the game? :p

  • @black00dice i know they shoudl call it american handball not american football. they should call soccer football instead because they are only allowed to use their feet not hands. (i know in some countries its called football but im talkin about US)

  • @black00dice i don't think its name was derived from the way you transport the ball, it's probably because if you are carrying that ball you'd probably end up getting trampled by player's feet after getting tackled.

  • what does it mean when they say e.g 2 and 10 i know it mean second play and ten yards but does the offensive team chose the 10 yard space and if so what is the advantage of chosing a 10 yard spacing instead for example 5 yards ?????

  • Thanks for posting it! Now I have some idea of the rules. In my country, there´re a lot of fans of american football. Soccer is insupportable for me.

    Greetings from Brazil!

  • Why do people get hot under the collar over which sport is better. Both are physically and mentally straining. People need to get over themselves.

  • Anybody know what the Wildcat Offense is? Or who the Dallas Cowboys or Carolina Panthers are? Or what NFL Monday Night Football is?

  • This game is piece of shit, played by assholes and watched by assholes. How the fuck they call it football? None of the mother fuckers hardly play the ball with Foot. Most of the time they are seen catching the ball with their hand. Original Football is the one these suckers call soccer. Stop calling your ass Football and stop this bullshit.

  • It's called football cause originally all plays were running plays, no throwing. Since they were always running on foot, they called it football.

  • Try watching an American NFL game online and you'll see why they call it "American Football"

  • Want more? Try looking "American Football" up in Wikipedia!

  • yeah... but then you have to read and that's too much of a hassle. i'd much rather have some hick explain it to me

  • wow I knew as soon as i clicked on this video there would be assholes like you who would post this shit.

  • @skalanki It's called football cos the ball's a foot long

  • bloody stupid ass sport, nearly as stupid as baseball

  • Now, how in the world is American Football(And the NFL)stupid?

  • bahhaha 1 they wear a ridiculous about of padding which is not needed

2 they have ti have a little chin wag(talk) about what they have gota do

and 3 y the hell cant ppl atteck and def instead of having 50 players

  • American Football takes a lot of strategy, planning, thinking, discipline, etc! And they wear helmets, shoulder pads to protect themselves! If it's not 11 on 11, it's not real football! It's 11 men vs. 11 men! Offense vs. Defense! Just watch the American NFL Football game "Madden NFL 2010" on YouTube!

  • HAHAH you try watching a real football game go watch Rugby Union mate

  • Oh, and be sure to watch Super Bowl 44 between the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts from Sun Life Stadium in Miami(Formerly Land Shark Stadium)

  • yer completely boring sport, the great sport go global, no hope games stay local

  • @Helsinkiful

Except football (Association Football) is fucking boring as hell.

    Hockey ftw!

  • Did you get what he just said about the running back, quarterback, fullback, etc?

  • Ridiculous padding? Not needed? Try getting hit at full strength by a 300lb linebacker who can run like an Olympic sprinter and bench press more than his body weight. While you're lying on the field waiting for the ambulance to arrive and put your bones back together, then you'll probably stop laughing about the padding.

  • @laserstun Most clever comment ever right there

  • @laserstun maybe you should watch RUGBY IN THE UK... then you too will laugh at the padding!

  • @laserstun you ever watched rugby ?

  • @Johrdann rugby only has one rough rule and its tackling, other then that rugby is no more rough then soccer or basketball

  • @laserstun try that but in rugby, without padding lol

  • not needed? Are you kidding me?

  • at least it's not cricket

  • Well more people play cricket world wide so it must be good

  • Watching either one puts me to sleep, playing is fun though.

  • @Helsinkiful limey

  • I did not understand a single thing...

what are all the players doing? Is it forbidden to throw the ball? But you always see the ball being htrown or am I wrong?

    Confusing...

What direction do the players in your example run? Do they attack? They run towards the enemy?

And some are running back? Why that?

    Clueless...

  • Every player is in contact at all times. There are multiple ways to advance the ball down the field. He is simply explaining how to run the ball.

The ball may be thrown forward down the field as far as the team wants.

"Running back" is a position on the field. Running backs run with the ball.

    Does this help?

  • Look up the play in American Football called "Wildcat Offense"

  • thats not the halfback its the full back!!!! 1:00

  • i llike american but soccer is better and we also call the soccer football..

  • this mite have been the best football rules on utube.

im trying to learn how to play football, because rite now i play basketball and i want to play football

  • well on video its kinda confusing to get the game. i now the rules and everything and i still didn't get what he was talking about. i learned by playing in the backyard and playing football videogames. its complicated but when you get its the most fun sport in the world. its also the most physical sport in the world.

  • lmao at 1:42 it looks like he drew a vagina.

  • im from england, so to me footballs soccer, so confusing :s. oh well il stick to english football :D

  • @horsechick36 Yea, stick to your english football

  • The lineup on the board is the I formation there's also the offset I formation. And it's QB, FB, HB. FB is actually in front of the halfback or more commonly referred to as tailback. And the latteral is sometimes called a toss.

  • when the QB recieves the snap, can the defence tackle the QB?

  • Oh yeah. That is called a "sack". A lot of times these are the biggest hits because the QB is looking down field, and the defense will tackle him from behind when he isn't looking.

  • Also if the ball has already left the QB's hand and he is tackled hard it could be ruled as roughing the passer. And if there's forward motion in the passing arm and the QB's arm is pulled or stopped it's pass interference which results in automatic first down.

  • If the ball thrown goes backwards, it is ruled as a fumble.

  • american football <3

  • I'm a big American football lover and soccer as well.. anyways.. when the ball is snapped.. and you are the running back.. your job is to get as much yardage as you can.. try not to get tackled.. The only thing you can't do when you are running the ball is you can't face mask... meaning don't yank the defenders mask when they are trying to tackle you.. to answer your question.. jump as any way you want.. as long as you get the first down or touchdown.

  • Cheers.

  • However pushing the linebackers mask is allowed which is stiff arming the guy.

  • What are the rules regarding an offensive ball carrier jumping a defensive player attempting to tackle him? I was once told a player must not jump feet first, but dive over head first. I've seen a ball carrier hurdle an opposing player and not incur a penalty. If you could clear this up for me i would be grateful, cheers.

  • That's called "Hurdling". In NCAA rules (college football) the rule was changed a few years back making it legal for the runner (ballcarrier) to hurdle an opponent. So he can jump away! Not sure about the high school rule though, lots of differences between NCAA and HS rules.

  • thanks man nice vid

  • arent the guy behind the QB fullback?

  • nah full back is nehind the halfback

  • It's the other way around.

I know it doesn't make sense but in the I-formation it goes Quarterback-Fullback-Halfback

  • that is 100 percent correct. a fullback is primarily a blocking running back. his job is usually to lead block for the halfback. on occasion the fullback might see some carries, but the halfback is the main ball carrier and would normally line up right behind the fullback in the event of an i formation like we saw here at the beginning diagram.

  • Thank You! I am german and so I have closer relationships to soccer (Fußball), than to american football. I never truelly understand the rules of this game, but you helped me a bit out.

    Thanks a lot.

  • Nice
