@SFLogicNinja ..loud is good without distortion. the reason is every time i play my song, i have to turn the volume all the way up to hear it. but when i play somebody else CD, i would put the volume in the middle to get the same volume. i hope that answers ur question.
I know im late but I JUST upgraded to a a Mac and going from Logic 5 to 9. (I will give you all a moment to stop laughin) Anyway, I'm really enjoying the informative post and wish you were in Tampa Bay. I'd be at your house everyday plugged in like Neo for this stuff. Thanks & take Care.
Hi, just started to watch your vids, and they are amazing!! I also just heard a stutter thing on the vocals for this /watch?v=C5P2r9A4fLc song (1:44-1:47) and i cant figure it out! :( can you help me SFLogicNinja?
just wanted to say thanks for these videos. I'm taking a music tech/ midi sequencing course at my university, but we don't really touch on stuff like this.

Reminds me of the dblue glitch plugin but I think your way is better. It seems that you would have alot more control over what is happening with every thing. Again
Damn dude manual time stretching huh? That is so Fing sick. I use samplers but this looks like you can just control everything to a T. Your videos have shown me how truly powerful Logic is. Please keep making them.
Well done. Wish you were a pro tools user. Quick question, as you know a wave is both compression and rarefaction, well have you ever seen a wave with dc offset? I have never seen any and would really like to see and hear one. Also do you know how I would create one?
I made one a while ago... It was totally by accident. I'm not sure it's a great idea to never let your transducers come to their resting point... I am a fan of the antinode.
I'm not sure why my comments aren't showing up as replies, so they are appearing somewhat out of context, but Logic is really great in a lot of ways but audio editing is a task I find excruciatingly difficult compared to Live or a dedicated editor like Audacity or Wave Editor or DSP Quattro.
Personally, I prefer to rewire Live to Logic and use Live for cutting up breaks and Logic for almost everything else.
Apfapfapf, you're not going to get much of this kind of editing done in Audacity. Don't get me wrong, I love the program for basic bare bones corrections of certain stuff, but for anything really involved, you're going to want Pro Tools or something like it.
i thank you for never letting me sleep, my girlfriend thanks you for her never seeying me. PLEASE KEEP POSTING... i love this stuff more than my health... apparently.
Mostly being more choosey in the beats I choose to mangle, and being more precise when it comes to identifying transients that I want to exploit, that's all.
Hey SFDaveLogicEarlNinja (whew). Once again gr8 stuff! Just from watching this episode I've leared how to chop samples in2 equal parts (via Part 1). 2 birds with 1 stone! That's what the WORLD is missing (LOL) ! But in altruism, thanx fam.
thank you thank you thank you. i heard Bt was actually writing a book on the stutter edit, along with the binary acoustics software release , but who can wait for that?
BT is one of the most meticulous, organized, and generous people around right now. He has been an open book about his techniques and my videos are inspired by his attitude of altruism. He's DEFINITELY earned his rightful place in electronic music history, and I'd love to hang with him someday. I think he raised the production bar all the way around in the industry. He's also helped out struggling artists, some of them friends of mine, by featuring them on his albums. In a nutshell, BT Rocks.
Totally. The altruism is definitely a truism. (haha) I am a massive massive fan and have been for many years. Met him a couple of times too. His production techniques and dedication to the art have indeed been an inspiration for me and many I'm sure, not to mention his massive inspiration and help on a personal level..
i think u r the one with all the answers. can you show how to make my master loud like everyone else else. thnks in advance

@abdulsound Well......
I have such a long answer to this question, but I need to ask you a question first....
Does loud = good?
Just curious. I've heard a lot of good music get destroyed because it had to become loud.

If you don't sell dvds of this, then you should contact logic and tell them that you are the man to do this!
AllyKiss18 2 years ago
Technically, he should contact Apple, as Logic is just the software.

quick question: do u always do this manually or do u use a program? can u suggest a good program?
DrMunroe 3 years ago
this stuff always sounds better done manually with obsessive attention to detail.
I will say that while I use both Logic and Live, pretty much all of this can be done in Live faster...
apfapfapf 3 years ago
really? i have live & ive never really used it. Maybe i should explore it alittle more...
DrMunroe 3 years ago
splitting, reversing, time stretching are all easier in Live.
I do prefer the vintage time stretch sound of Logic's pitch/time when I'm going for an obvious effect however.
apfapfapf 3 years ago
Live is a fantastic tool as well.
I just can't use it for everything. Great program, tho.
Your program should always be in sync with your creative and workflow philosophy, regardless of company.
