  • "the goal is for everybody to win." <3

  • big respect for this dude

  • he moves a lot i thought he just had a problem in his hands

  • This disease must be very distressing for him and his family. Imagine trying to sleep at night. I hope they find a cure for it one day.

  • Interesting that they used a transparent podium. If that is their normal podium, wouldn't the event organizers think to cover it so as not to embarrass Michael?

Or did they want Micheal's condition to be "In your face"?

I think they did it on purpose.

  • This convention was not just for Michael. Are you saying they should've made the podium opaque and 7 feet tall so we don't see him at all? Have you seen how many podiums on awards shows are transparent now? If it was a Michael J Fox convention then I might agree with you, but this is an annual Biotechnology convention which includes biofuels, industrial & environmental studies, etc. Btw, I'm sure he wasn't embarrassed, he goes through it everyday while you comfortably sit still everyday.

  • @dcslewis

I'm pretty sure it was intentional. I think he went off his meds or something a few days before the speech too, to get the audience's attention. I think he was right on.

  • @nicolethebean85 Thanks for the right on

I am awake @ 3:00 am 4/15/11 the family is asleep, grover our guard dog snoring,a full moon and i am a Parky

diagnosed 4 yrs ago.I would like you to know that someone with PD doesnt intentionaly go off thier meds to get attention or wants the attention. Its been over 4 yrs now and i still havent figured out the meds. FYI Michael was diagnosed 20 yrs ago if he was off the meds he would not be able to get to the stage.Well time to go Thanks

  • That is sad.

  • I hope he gets better :(

  • Brain chip - CHECK MY SITE.

  • go michael, you'll win this fight....

  • Keep up Michael!

  • i love you mike

  • dude im fucking right id hit the top of the list i srs dude srs

  • Fuck you kid, you're a fucken ass.

  • wow fuck you i'd like to see you have pakonsons disease. ill record u and put crazy frog in the background. u obviesty are the complete opposite of a genius u fuckin ugly kid. next time think before you say imature things...

  • Wow, you managed to mis-spell almost every word.

  • Its called Parkinsen's Disease. He medicates to stop the shaking that comes with it, and the vocal problems that most sufferers encounter causing the "wagging" back and forth of his body. He was such a great actor in his time. It is sad to see that he has to fight so hard for what he believes in. :(

  • oh god!!

i just know that he is SICK!!

what is that??? thought the video i watched is just a joke..

  • he IS sick. he has Parkinson's Disease (PD), a degenerative neurological disease. Common symptoms include muscle tremors, inability to initiate/control movement, and slurred speech. Usually it doesn't happen until people get pretty old, but in Michael's case, he has YOPD, Young Onset PD. He is on Levodopa medication to control the tremors, but that medicine's side effect is those rocking/sliding motions of his shoulders.

  • Its great to see a guy doing everything he can to find a cure and to not let it get him down. Keep it up Michael! and keep going!

  • This is absolutely a wonderful man trying his best to find a cure, not just to find more pills to cover up this deadly disease. My Ex husband of over 30 years ago is also fighting this crippling disease. He is 58 years old and was diagnosed 13 years ago. DBS was done. His brain rejected the probes. We do not know why. Richard is on a lot of pills and has slurred speech. Soon the pills will no longer help. He would like to try Human stem cell research.what about Scripps research in La Jolla CA.

  • MJF is the best actor iv seen. it is such a sad story he leads now with Parkingsons disease and his fight to cure it.....BTTF is 1 of my fav movies and to see him then..to now its so sad poor MJF.....:(

  • I think this will go down as MJF's ultimate, incredible legacy. The man who fought on, intelligently and dilligently, in the face of a crippling disease, and helped the country to pioneer new scientific breakthroughs in medical science.

100 years frim now, Micheal will be remembered for being one of the godfathers of the the stem-cell movment, and all the numerous diseases it helps us to cure. Not Family Ties.

  • Oh my god! His heart is made of pure gold!

  • @korsholm88 must be too dense to pump enough blood to his legs XD

  • *generic youtube message expletives and disagreement*

  • God bless him. I hope that he succeeds in his mission in finding a cure for Parkingsons disease. Michael J. Fox is my favorite actor and most of all my hero. He is brave, and strong to have stood up in front of millions of people and say this is me, I have weaknesses and strengths, and I am willing to fight to cure Parkingson's disease. I wish the best for him and his family. I hope to meet Michael J. Fox some day.

ps- your biggest fan... I look up to you as my hero.

    Thank you.

  • people like you deserve PD bitch

  • No one deserves PD

  • nah a good ass whooping would be good though

  • God bless MJF. I dont think i'd be able to live with his disease, he's a brave and kind man. I agree with dogspigsandsheep- he wont be able to play guitar again, but hopefully one more time :(

  • MJF is such brave and hero for fighting for this cause, not only for him but for the millions of people who suffer it aswell.

For everybody who laff about others pain I can just say that is very likely that those people will end up pretty ill in their lifes, it can happen to anybody, nobody knows, so if u want to laff, go ahead, but dont be suprise when something terrible happens to u.

  • fuck that girl!! what a contempt!!!

  • Hey! do you by any chance have the video of True Hollywood Story! of Michael J. Fox?

if you do i would really appreciate a copy... i read his book and i heard that his biography had come out and i cant find it:( so if you can find me a copy that would be aweswome :D

  • How can that lady sit there and continue to eat her lasagna while Michael J. Fox is speaking???? UnBelievable!

  • ....somebody in this auditoria "listening" and still eating. It's discusting!

  • I agree beseder, I noticed that and thought how bloody rude. They shouldn't have had food there until ppl stopped talking...man or man that sux

  • you really need to have some guts to do something like this

  • You know what is the shitiest part of him having this disease? He was a guitar player :(

Hopefully they find a cure, and he will play once more.

  • You're...well?

You're an absolute cunt, really. So is God, got that? GOD IS A NUMB FUCKING CUNT.

Get your head out of your ass, "Christian",

and find some compassion. You'll find out there's no fucking "God" and that the bible is an asswipe, right around the same time you start to get old. Have fun, hope it hurts.

  • I have known that M J Fox was ill but seeing some footage here is so shocking. One of my favourite movies is the Back to the future trilogy. So sad to see an actually young man in this condition. (Sorry for my poor English.)

  • Michael is a true hero!

  • Amazing person who really get his message across! I think it's think for the scientific communities to speak up against the religious communities! Science rules! Agnostic rules!

  • Great Michael. The world needs persons as you.

  • :( love ya

  • we love you mjf

  • Firstly, If he wasn't on meds he would freeze and would be unable to speak. Secondly I find it amusing that Fatozzy himself is probably washed up puss, but one that no one ever heard of, and that didn't make millions of dollors out of legendary films that he himself probably watched.Thirdly, I also find it quite funny that 'washed up' Fox can have parkinson's and talk so intelligently about such a vital issue, whereas as Fatozzy here, can't even use the correct grammar to form a simple sentence.

  • I know we can rant on anything we choose, and I know opinions are subjective ... but that horrible and cruel comment really got to me (fatozzy). It's aimed at such a talented, intelligent, and charismatic guy (as well as one of the nicest I've heard). Must be a Rush Limbaugh devotee.

  • This man is my true idol and a very smart and inspiring guy. God bless 'em =)

  • What a amazing man, thats all I have to say.

  • Fatozzy, you are such a silly man. Are you hating on MJF because he's talking about issues that you couldn't understand? Don't get mad at him because he knows more than you. You can always go back to school to get a degree, you know?

  • i wont resort to calling you names. i just feel sorry for you fatozzy

  • Ya know, the only thing that is washed up is your attitude. I was recently diagnosed with parkinsons , granted I am no where near in the shape MJF is, but at least I am able to see what is happening & how it is affecting him. I know what I have to look forward to because of him & I applaud him for his public fight with this.

  • That "washed up puss" is possibly saving millions of people. I fail to understand how someone as brave as MJF can be the target of comments made my obnoxious knownothings. The man is a hero. Shame on you.
