I really, really, really think the Barrett Sisters were unrated in their professional career. I think their should be an award named in their honor. We just do not have any authentic singing like this anymore from gospel groups.

tenorbelter, the film was released about 1983, so 1982 is about right. It was and is an amazing documentary of Gospel Music and someof the founding legends. It is a great teaching tool for young musicians and artists IF THEY WILL LISTEN.

dat's "Mother Willie Mae Ford Smith. She was the mentor to the Barrett Sisters, Brother Joe May, Sister Rosetta Tharp, and many other gospel singers.
