  • uh-oh not good at all>>.<<

  • Feh, In Minnesota that's good times!

  • Nice video. I love U.P. snow storms

  • nice wind but, in Norway you can get 20inches of snow in a blizzard in just one hour

  • @1337inzock This guy who made the video does not know what a real blizzard is, they should stick to tornadoes, they seem to not realize that 3 feet in one night and then 3 feet the next night and having a state of emergency in Michigan is a blizzard.

  • In Michigan, we see it as another day.

  • greetings from Ukraine

  • speaking of heavy snow...i was in the san bernardino mountains (in southern california) earlier this year and it snowed for about 24 hours straight...ground cover went from about one inch of icy crust to 25" +-1"

  • Heavy snow? Oh come on :p In Norway that's nice weather for a snowy day..

  • @hawr0

Yes, your in Norway, you get more snow. No doubt someone in antartica would watch vidoes of Norway snow storms and scoff.

  • @metafis Depends if he is on the Norwegian part of Antartica though.

  • You know what us Michiganders call a day like that? A workday.

  • Reed Timmer Presents: TVN on Ice!

  • how deeep in the end

  • In the Netherlands we have the same effect as that with the North Sea!! But the sea is pretty warm in the winters, so most of the time it rains :/

  • Perfect weather for hiking, or snowboarding, or for anything similar outdoor activities. I love it.:D

  • We get alot of now in buffalo As well

  • The NE coast if England and Scotland is getting more and mte profound to 'Sea effect snow' moses places averaged arous 50cm in 3 days. Tht is alot for England.

  • Ah yes, brings back the good ol days of up north. Similar weather in Rochester, NY.

  • Just anotherday during our 6 month winter up here...

  • This almost like the snowstorm we had here in Grand Rapids last night. (February 1, 2011) only we received 16 inches of snow in less than 6 hours, complete with thunder and lighting. We were up at 3 a.m. watching it from our balcony. It was very cool. Also, I think I drove home from work in the storm in your video. Living in Michigan in the winter totally sucks!

  • Whimpy snowfall.I experienced whiteout conditions for 2 hrs along with 40 mph sustained.I got you beat!

  • how many inches is it?

  • the grass isnt even covered.... Lol!

  • ha I live in michigan now--this aint nothing, I grew up in buffalo new york go there and film

  • haha, the Dominator prolly doesn't handle snow very well

  • I dont remember this...

  • lake effect shmake effect. It is a myth.

  • your power sucks over their. We could get an ice storm and not loose a limb in ontario canada. You guys get rain and you loose your power.

  • Must be real dangerous; your driving in your T-shirt. See a real storm Blizzard of 77 slide show; White Death

  • 2:58

    "There is no light!"

  • this isnt that awsome i mean grand rapids gets a lot of lake effect but the farther north im MI u go the worst

  • This is an extreme blizzard in the U.S? Come join me for -55 degree's in 80 mile an hour winds with a fresh foot of snow every hour up hyar in Canada............ eh. T_T

  • first pic was cool rest not so much heavy

  • was there like a flood too because at 2:40 there are apparantly waves

  • 1:09 made me jump.

  • True mikeladd78, however you forgot to mention the innumerable hordes of mosquitoes that come out whenever it is actually warm enough to venture outside

  • RIP CIRCUIT CITY

  • @bg048 , As a Michigander i feel obligated to inform you that MI temps shift by well over 100 degrees throughout the year. It can hover around 90 in the summer, and very humid due to the countless lakes/rivers, and during winter -20, or colder, can be a nightly occurrence.

  • wow michigans shit is weak if they think this is bad i just got back in after walking around in something like this in a t-shirt.

  • this isnt a real blizzard a blizzard is way more hardcore then this peoples caught in blizzards die i heard

  • Michigan needs good snow fall this year! 2010 Dec. I'm hoping for a foot or more.

  • u dont have any plows there in michigan?

  • okay. i died laughing as soon as the radio came on. lol love you guys <3

  • @DiiVx1 no dont blame Canada blame u 4 baming Canada

  • Lake effect is snow forming over the great lakes and moving west usually dumping lots of snowbecause it just keeps coming. Matter of fact im getting hit by some right now

  • what is lake effect blizzard

  • @CANADASOCCERMAN13 A lake effect blizzard is snow formed from cold air moving over a warmer body of water, condensation forms clouds and produces lake effect snow, and causes heavy snow and wind for more than 24 hours.

  • It's worse now with WNY. We've had a LES Warning since 8AM 12.1 and it doesn't end til 6AM 12.3. We've received 3' so far and another foot is expected to come. All of this snow is expected to stay for the next couple of weeks because of highes near 30. Howdya think I feel?

  • @supermonkeyballboy move to florida.

  • @boeingdude1 But I love my New York. There's no way I'm moving anywhere else anytime soon.

  • it started snowing four days after i made the last comment

  • @RetroDudeManGuy sorry that was gramma typing i like ur comment its nice

  • @lulupeanutlady lulz

  • Awesome to see this, we always hear about it on the news, now I can imagine it better. Thanks!

  • I think i have seen a good snow squall here on Long Island just once, independent of an actual storm, all the way back in 1978.

  • HEY REED YOUR SISTER CLARE GOES TO MY SCHOOL.

  • Nice. I love snow but it starts to suck when you work in it everday. I live in the White Mountains of AZ and it snows a lot here. Hopefully this year it will be a mild one.

  • born and raised in the northern lower myself...I really have to think most of these 'storm videos" are from people who havent lived here long... or are from downstate....sorry....all blizzards (determined by windspeeds vs.amount of snow) are dangerous but I agree...snow opera...

  • Heavy snow? I grew up in the U.P. and I've seen heavy snow. People in the lower part just don't know what winter is.

  • Those loud cutoofs are really annoying but Im glad you had some fun in the snow.

  • what's with the music

  • who is filming this? Reed Timmer???

  • hey in the beginning of the video that white dodge looks like mine!!! man i love this weather, i live for this stuff!!

  • If he wants to see snow he should go to my native land - Canada.

  • Hey i live in grandrapids kentwood michigan too!!!

  • Beautiful!

  • Circuit City bankrupt :}

  • I Never Had Blizzard In My State :\

  • Storm???

    A nice day in Sweden!

  • @newcase79 hahahahaha ha! :D

  • lol you call this snow ? obviously they never bin to iceland

  • @Cultshaker55 greenland u meen

  • What is lake effect is it a place is it a type of storm? Some plz tell me

  • @AvFcAston Lake Effect is all the snow that we get from the Great Lakes. The warm lakes often put enough humidity in the air to dump hundreds of inches of snow on their eastern sides each season.

Where I live right now we get around 300 inches sometimes(I live much further north though)

  • @PurpRange Ahh thanks I get it so do u live in a town near a lake? What one is it?

  • this is the exsact reason i live in florida right now i dodged this damn storm by 1200 miles sure i have to wrooy about hurricanes but hey at least it aint snow. hot air i can live thru i cant live thru freezing ass coldweather and where is he on alpine some wheres??? you cponsider this great footage?? you can see this every oct thru may good job dummy get out now!!

  • Good on U

  • thats a pussy blizzard

  • 3 inches of accumulation in 2 hours is not a heavy blizzard at all.

  • @WarrantedFaith 3 inches is like a half hour... I see this blizzard thing happen every year, and it just gets bigger over the lake.

  • Grand Rapids? Try the lake effect in Benton Harbor/ St. Joseph. We are actually on the lake and get the brunt of it.

  • california bitch

  • they the people in GR think there on the Lake Michigan coast too...very funny...Muskegon that is 35 miles north west and on the lake gets much more snow.............

  • Imagine his excitement if he found himself stuck in Minnesota during a real blizzard.

  • @mschneider18xx

Yo. I don't know if Minnesota gets more "real blizzards," but West Michigan gets way more snow than Minnesota. Of course the U.P. can get double or triple the amount that West Michigan gets. Michigan is way snowier than Minnesota, although you guys are much colder.

  • I grew up in Holland Michigan. It's beautiful. I will be going back in a year<33

  • que lindo que sos papurri

  • i remember a big storm and the road and peoples yards were flooded

  • With the kind of snows SW Michigan gets there isn't much to do...you can only drink so much and screw so much...usually a lot of babies born in late summer :D

  • @parkman35 i know on the west coast like california and washington there is hundreds of inches of snow each year but no one lives where it snows so it doesnt ruin their day. i wonder why people live where it snows there

  • @PENUSSY probably for the same reason why people live where there are earthquakes....because we can.

  • solo in America se vedono ste cose porco can...

  • I love it out here in ganges. Allegan county is where you should have gone. We got nailed 07 08 2 years in a row. These are some of my favorite evenings in michigan.

  • i wish i still lived there

  • Because of lake effect snow, Southwestern Michigan grows the most amazing fruits, apples, peaches, cherries, even apricots, in the summer. The light, fluffy snow produced by winds and moisture crossing south over Lake Michigan is what protects the ground from a hard freeze and keeps fruit trees from being damaged. I used to pick peaches in Berrien County Michigan, and it's all because of lake effect snow. I guess you could say that it's a silver lining of sorts!

  • @stickershomeplus Uh, if you don't think that ground is frozen hard, I got news for ya . . . . .I'm in Southeast Michigan. Trust me, it's frozen solid until you get about 9 inches down.

  • @stickershomeplus yes but in some cases in kalamazoo were i am at its never done a thing to affect planting in the spring if u get what i mean

  • Wish i had a camera, right now in boone nc, there are 70 mph wind gusts and 50 mph substained winds and like 1 foot snow with 2 foot + snow drifts, all dropped in one day from that noreaster that just hit new york city.... and this is in NC mountains

  • They should of went to allegan county that day it would have been twice as bad. Allegan always gets hit the hardest.

  • 0.0

  • 2:56 "tehehehe, there is no light" - "Oh, OK" ... you guys sound just like Beavis and Butthead

  • It's January 5th here in Phoenix, AZ , and todays high is 72.

  • thanks, greetings from old germany

  • kinda clear that ...those who filmed this didnt grow up here.....this happens at least 2-3 times a yr...back in the 70's and early 80's it happened all the time

  • Never happens in England, so I'd be a excited if this happens.

  • Imagine his excitement when he found out that this happens every year.

  • @sixtysevenchevelle I wish it was like that every year down here in Texas. So yall should have the heat up there, and we get the cold and snow down here in winter. We Texans can handle heat or cold.

  • It's Bush's fault!

  • or....blame CANADA !!!

    D:D:D:D

  • @rkoliver1 hahahhahahahhahahahahhahaha lmfao!!! hahahaa

  • I hate when we get blizzards here in upstate New York.

  • having 1 right know

  • yup we have another one today!

  • o.O

  • This kid is soooooooo full of himself!!!

  • i remember this

  • I loathe michigan winters... We can get a foot of snow dumped on us with no warning at all. I turn on the tv: "Lake-effect snow warning just issued, expect 8"-12"+, all schools are closed" Oh hey.... not inconvenient at all :(

  • Must be sweet for children, with school and all, annoying with work though lol.

  • dude, i can see about 400-500 Meters out your drivers side window...thats not a blizzard, thats just blowing snow...... blizzard it like 50 meters in front of you cant see shit.....(not trying to be an ass here....)

  • @racecardriver467

    i agree

it's not that crazy. it's just windy. i've seen it snow more in Vancouver BC

  • all i gutta say is,hope you got 4WD,cuz i live in mass an i know i sure do

  • what exactly is a lake effect snow storm

  • when cold air from a jet stream blows into a moist area over a lake it creates big moist snow flakes that accumulate in huge quantities

  • I don't know, but I think it's where the pressure just changes in a matter of hours, is what i'm guessing.

  • lol this guy must be from florida cuz that aint shit for a blizzard

  • hahahaHAHAHAHAHA 3" in the past 2 hours??? HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA COME TO THE U.P. DUMBASS, THATS A NICE DAY UP HERE!

  • I live in Grand Rapids...I remember this day...I got stuck on the side of the road. Shortly after a lady slammed into my car...totalling it! That was a crazy storm!

  • Ask your dad how high the snow drifts were and that will confirm how much snow actually fell. If the snow drifts were 4' high, then it's a good estimate that at least 12" of snow fell. If the snow drifts were upwards to 6-8' high, then it is safe to say that 36-48" of snow fell. Think about it.

  • ya Reed thats why I want to get out of Mich too lol.

  • Woahhhhhhhhhh. Yeah when I grew up in the Detroit suburbs, all it took was maybe 7" and school would be closed and we would be stuck inside all day. It's the same thing here in Chicago. But, I remember my best friend in Grand Rapids would get well over a foot, and they would STILL have school. Nuts....

  • I agree, like they never saw snow before. They should go to the UP if they want snow, I hear they measure it in feet, not inches......YIKES!

  • Well, it's a good thing the UP measures in feet! Lol. If the southern parts of the state (Detroit area in particular), get so little as 8 or 9 inches, it pretty much cripples transportation for the day.

  • rip circuit city

  • man that is nothing u guys must be from florida or something . check out a central new york lake affect some time. bring clean underwear cause you will definately shit your pants.

  • Yeah, this guy isn't from west Michigan for sure because that's nothing.

  • That looks like more than just lake effect snow. Looks to be a lot of synoptic snow as well looking at your radar.

  • I want to move up there. I live down in the south, so we don't see that kind of snow.

  • where's the heavy snow? All I see is the wind blowing the snow around.

  • OOOPPPPS!!! I meant REED! SO sorry I forgot your name!

  • Is that Josh from Storm Chasers?! If so, Cool! We love watching him! Hi Josh! We miss our Michigan winters! We live in California now :-(

  • Comment removed

  • hell yeah thats the only reason i live in michigan love the snow!

  • Love the song at the beginning!

  • You showed this radar that purely shows a SW wind direction snowfall and the FROPA or cold front that brings true NW wind snow squalls to South West Michigan was just starting to be visible on the last radar image?

  • Wow this video is nothing but over sarcastic idiots 40dbz etc lol ! You assholes yelled heavy snow when the visibility was still good.

  • hillbillys

  • thats nothing

  • Illinois didn't get 4ft of snow in 1970s. They did get a healthy dose of 12-18" of snow with gusty winds which produced drifts up to 4ft (48").

  • Michigan, meganandliz live in Michigan i know that wa a random comment but i just remembered that

  • thats bad? here in oswego NY we got 100 inches over 4 days afew years back
