@teletubiesRwild If it's a facial moisturizer than no, but a body cream would. Also, even in the facial moisturizer if it's scented it still may irritate because of the alcohol the scent requires, so use non scented.

@teletubiesRwild I know you wanted a response from her but I hope this helps, You can use lotion but recommended not to use to perfumed lotion because that could irritate your eye lids. Your eye lids are very sensitive. I think she used body butter for a thicker consistinsy. Hope this helped :)

@purplechunchun body butter is the best, but you can use any mosturiser but be careful for the type you use i tried it in the past with mosturiser and it made my eyes feel really thick and not light. anyway give it a go and see how it is (: (do a small amount at first too see if it feels/goes okay then if it does you can make more but if not you wont of wasted a lot) hope it helped (:

If you have only skin dont go with butter. Try an oil free moisturizer like Cetaphil. Butter will cause creasing,which defeats the primer purpose. But if it's about money Elf cosmetics sells a primer for a $1. Get it at target or their site.Even MAC users use Elf

The whole point of primer is to prevent creasing .. Adding a body butter or lotion to the eyelids under eyeshadow doesnt make sence it would crease twice as fast!

Is there anything I can substitute the body butter with effectively? I have a lot of allergies and I don't use body butter. I understand lotion is thinner and not as good, so is there anything else that I haven't thought of that I could use instead? I could use my moisturiser but it's quite oily and I think it would defeat the purpose and just slide off my eyelids and I'd be better off just using foundation. Any ideas anyone?

The answer is YES you can use lotion but it didnt come out as good as the body butter. I used lotion in one and body butter in another to test it out, and the body butter one stuck better, but the lotion one worked as well.

I think that the concealer and foundation just help even out your skin tone and helps blend the body butter. But I have used just body butter without the concealer/foundation and found no difference in the results with the eye shadow.

it wasnt soft foundation, it was actually liquid foundation in a bottle and i poured a little bit of that into a container and added some vaseline aswell and mixed it together until it was like smooth cream. it works really good so you only need to use a tiny bit of it so it lasts ages too.

dont use body butter!! it will clog your pores BADLY. rather use a facial moisturizer, even tho its not meant to be used on the eyes. if you have eye cream, use that. and btw.. ur just making tinted moisturizer :P
