  • Very good.. i like they way they cooperated... 100% good. Keep going...

  • Koreans hate the Japanese, one of the Top 5 Reasons/ japan ㅗㅗㅗㅗㅗ

  • But the battle of Myeoryang = Just Yi Soon Shin

  • Comment removed

  • Say what you will. I think it was the worlds biggest upsets ever recorded.. I didn't believe it until I hit the books. It all true. Yi Soon Shin is indeed the worlds greatest admiral that has ever lived. This series inspired me to read about Korean history. Ignite my hunger to learn more about Asian history. Thank you for posting the 5 part Battle clip. It was great to see it again. CHOSUN (Korea)

  • @don't forget the Ming help the koreans in the naval warfare; not just the admiral Yi soon-shin and his comrade.

  • @NationChosenByGod dont worry about it lol. We all know. I think this TV show should've done better job showing what they did as well, but the main focus was on Yi Soonshin.

  • @LostFaithChoi there has been some criticism about the show... they did take lil bit of liberty, like underplaying Chinese role and in part 4, the japanese admiral didn't challenge Admiral Yi personally. In reality he was found floating dead in the water, he never got near Yi Soon Shin himself... well I guess his head did, because that bit was accurate :P

  • @NationChosenByGod its very true but the significance of Yi Sun Shin was felt when he was actually withdrawn from office and the 150 ships and troops he trained were devestated in one battle, which left him with the 13 ships he saw here.

The reason Yi sun shin is so great is because he not only won respect from his own people but also from his allies and his enemies. It's true... many Chinese, Korean, Japanese and even europeans who hear of him recognize him as one of the greatest.

  • @WOok2a the filmmakers even admit they took a lot of artistic license with this, the only thing even close to accurate were the outcome of the battles and the political bs occuring in the Chosun court, everything else was left to artistic license

  • 31 Jap ships sunk, 92 ships damaged beyond repair, and over 18,000 Japs slaughtered by the great Yi Soon-Shin and his 13 ships with his brave Korean soldiers and officers. 13 ships pounding the hell out of 333... this is the Merriam-Webster's Dictionary's definition of "raped".

  • what is this bull with "we are better than the others?" i think japanese and korean people should stop pointing at eachother. stop crying for god sakes...

  • Funny jap

  • 18644 Japanese did not die. only retreated according to the narration.

  • Why do gooks wear Mongolian armours? Was Korea conquered by Mongol?

  • 3.Roh Mu Hyun (personal)

  • the 3 most important ppl of korea history: 1Sae Jong 2Lee Soon Shin

  • Let's face it. The japanese invasion got fucked up by one man and that man was Yi Soon Shin!

  • Repect us and we will respect you

  • 1 Japanese soldier survived that battle in order to dislike this video.

  • @MaxShinBowl Idiot, this drama is propaganda. Japan also won an victory, during the 1592-1598 invasions.Koreans suffered more death toles, 180,000 soldiers, 1 million civilian deathtole,we cut of 20,000 noses and ears of koreans, took 60,000 as captives, not to mention this war also supported by ming.We also colonized korea for 35 years, and had our empire been longer the korean race culture, language, idendity would have extinct? so who won in the end JAPAN.

  • @spiritclaymore Yeah Japan won one victory when Yi was demoted to an Ensign. So in that small span where the STUPIDLY ANNOYING Korean politics got in the way of war, Japan had a victory or two. But lo and behold, as soon as Yi comes back to his 13 ships, he completely fucks up Japan's 333 ships.

And you want to talk about who "won" in the end? Okay, maybe you don't know Japan's economy. While Korea's economy is still expanding under free capitalistic economy, Japan is feeling the mistakes of

  • @spiritclaymore its economic mistakes from the 1980s. Sure, Japan's economy grew like crazy in the 80's and early 90's, but now the overgrowth will show up now. Watch how its health care, population, and economy will fuck itself over in the next 10 years :]

So who REALLY "won" in the end? I bet in the next 20 years, S. Korea will be the most influential Eastern Asian country (besides China, which is obviously the most influential and powerful).

  • Comment removed

  • @spiritclaymore Rather than being proud of how many kills made, I think a nation should be proud over how many men it DIDN'T lose. Either way, both countries lost a lot of men. The 20,000 noses/ears the Japanese cut off weren't from soldiers alone. They also cut them off from women, children, and the elderly. Of those 60,000 captives, Japanese mainly took artisans and craftsman (and women) because they clearly didn't have what they really wanted back at home. Please do some objective research.

  • @Eunjung120 In my opinion this battle of 1592-1598 invasion should be an draw. You lost way more than we did. While we may have lost tens of thousands soldiers and hundred of ships. Korea lost 1 million civilian deathtoles, 100,000 soldiers, 20,000 nose/ears cut off, 60,000 captives.Your economic also suffered greatly. And don't forget the 35 years of japan colonization, which could have extinct your korean idendity/culture had our empire lasted, if western powers didn't intervened.

  • Finally!

Dearest young friend, many thanks for having loaded the last part of this masterwork. *****from Italy

  • Wow, Yi Soon Shin is the ultimate badass of the 16th century.

  • 우리 모두는 이순신 장군같이 되어야 한다!

  • only general that goes front line of the war. i will always remember him as a legend. hes probably in heaven right now

  • What episode was this?

  • An amazing victory by the greatest Admiral ever to have lived! And a very good video!

Japan and Korea are both awesome countries, and should not be hating against each other. Greetings from Europe.

  • @TheMomemtum ...

    what a loser

  • @TheMomemtum Well thats very difficult man. We have island disputes, they copied our food and CLAIM it's theirs and whatnot. plus what japan did to us, I will never forget it.

  • i will never get tired of seeing this series. i remember i was obsessed with it when it first aired on tv and i still get goosebumps from the battle scenes. yi soon shin is by far the greatest admiral ever!

  • Admiral Yi does God a favor by keeping Heaven packed with fresh jap souls. Choongmoogung mansei!

  • @El1t3HUNT3R13 Not heaven, but HELL !!

  • I love how this one episode makes up for the like dozen previous ones that had Yi Soon-shin in prison and humiliated, and WOn Kyun blowing the whole fleet on Chilchunryang. It's hard not to burst into tears when you see the battle won! Dae Chosun mansei! Yi Soon-Shin Changoon mansei!

  • great chapter of Korean history

  • A intelligence, knowing the psychology of the enemy and courage always help, as demonstrated by Admiral Yi Soon Shin and his men.

    OUTSTANDING VICTORY!

  • Nice video by the way, there is type-o at there about the statistics part it says 18466 of soldiers were killed not 18644

  • 13 ships successfully fended off a massive armada of 333 warships and either sunk or damaged beyond repair over 120. Amazing.

  • this truly is a victory to remember. 13 ships went against an all-powerful japanese fleet or some 300 ships and won. An epic and pitiful fail for the Japanese. This victory marks the greatness of Korea and the Immortal Admiral, Yi Soon Shin!!

(no offense to modern-day japanese people)

  • I'm a Filipino but I admire Admiral Yi Soon Shin, who never lost a single sea battle. You Koreans are very lucky having an outstanding strategist and the greatest naval admiral that ever lived. His victories were greater than Admiral Nelson's at Trafalgar and the Greeks' at Salamis. Just a single man beating all odds in gaining victory speaks well of Admiral Yi Soon Shin! I am very sorry for those who never heard of him. Believe me he did lived and walked the land now called Korea.

  • @trident102002

Good thing you appreciate Asian History.. or Korean history

not like other Filipinos who are so stupid secluding themselves from Asia calling themselves LATINO

    like idiots..

anyway.. i am a former FILIPINO citizen.. i now reside in SINGAPORE

I migrated to Singapore.. because Philippine Economy was bad..

And seriously.. as a former Filipino.. PLEASE BE A GOOD CITIZEN OF YOUR COUNTRY

Like Yi shoon shin or any other patriot KOREANS

because youre COUNTRY is actually dying

  • Koreans have HUGE BRAINS

  • hells yeah we do...

  • We all know the Elephan is very big.. If give Dmtau 24hrs to repair. . . Dmtau can get Mr.Elephan easey likes take a cat ! Why ? Human . .God give us brains. That right VN always defeat Mongols. . . .

  • Very simple to smell Mongols on the Battle!Mongols always repeat the tactic of War by used Big Numbers.. . Repeat&repeat. . .why ? The Mongols are cowards. . .Cowards like to take big number to against small . .sample this video 333 ships vs 13 Korean Ships!

  • The great battle the Korea won ! The good tactic. . good Korean .. .Long live guys ! 15 th. . . .truthly Mongols hidden in Japan to opened this war. . . Why ? Mongols took over Japan after 12th to now. . .

  • Yi sun shin is the greatest admiral ever in human history.

13 ship vs 133 ?? who achieved this kind of miraculous victory ever?

He deserves the nickname of ' god of the war'.

  • @igottakillthemall actually 333 not 133

  • @igottakillthemall or 313 something like that around 300

  • @igottakillthemall 13 vs 333 lol

  • @igottakillthemall it's not 133 it's 333

  • @igottakillthemall 13 vs 333

  • @igottakillthemall actually it is 13 vs 333, get your facts right

    long live yi shun shin

  • @igottakillthemall actually 13 vs 333 is right

  • This is bullcrap !!

According to the record, Yi sun shin didn't lose single soldier or ship in this battle which is miraculous.

It was totally a victory of tactic, strategy and superior weapon.

That kind of miraculous victory can't be earned by simple bravery shown in this show.

they just ruined his real greatness only to make the show more interesting and dramatic.

    this makes me sick.

Yi sun shin sword-fighting like some kind of worrior?? give me a break !!

  • the point is that yi soon shin did defeat 333 ships with only 13 ships. thats amazing.

  • igottakillthemall. . . So you are Mongol ! You must open your tiny eyes ,today how "great"Mongols in all over the World.Mongols with Nato,U.S(Treasons US)Indian. . . .how they fight.. . .run likes fat ducks. . .Do you konw what the Great Nation make them likes that.. . . .?

  • The Nation was defeaded Mongols in the 12th.. . .By Idiot !

    Mr Dmtau.

    Was born from that Nation.

PS: Any things. . .go on!

  • No shit? Do you really want to watch an hour of 13 ships pounding singles ships in a row? This is a drama and not a documentary, of course they're a bit liberal about the historical actualities. Think with your head for once.

  • wow you just made an account of this name to bash koreans? I didn't wanna admit, but you guys are really proving yourselves to be immature and stupid...

  • and by 'you guys' you are referring to?

  • wow ur bullcrap Yi Shon Shin was the best admiral there was... these battle actually happened... i think u have to learn History again. its in the history books, and the historians even prove it so shut the fuck up dumbass

  • @igottakillthemall

Dude, calm down, its a drama.

btw, I bravery is definately involved; Koreans did not shit their pants and ran away before they even got to fight.

Second, Yi Sun Shin was a warrior, he passed the military exam, and it is a fact that he was a superior swordsmen.

  • Yo igottakillthemall, u dn't no wtf ur talking about so just stfu cuz all of us think ur stupid. it was 333 ships he beat not 133. u can't even spell Yi-Soon-Shin so u obviously dn't no shit. N dn't even bother responding to this cuz i don't give two flying fucks about what u think. just do us all a favor and go play in a food processor.

  • this battle was after sacheon right??

  • No. this battle was after Chilcheonryang battle which Chosun navy was totally destroyed. So, Chosun navy had only 13 ships without only one turtle ship. So. Yi himself called this victory a miracle.

  • the Japanese r a bunch of good 4 nothing pussys that cant win even with 333 ships. what fuckin idiots

  • not stupid, just plain careless and ignorant of the sea. Also, they had been anbushed, so they didn't expect a battle there. Overall, it just shows just how damn smart Yi Soon Shin and his coommand were.

  • HAHAHA i love these people who commented in these videos... Proud to be korean, HELL YEAH! :3

  • dont fuk with korean navy! this is wat happens wen u mess wit us! korea nad chosun forever!

  • agree. i'm a korean myself. however, i really don't like choson era. it was probably the worst 500 years of korean history. i like goguryeo better!

  • It's a shame it was that bad, Yi's enemies were not just the japanese, but the currupt chinese general Chen Lin, jealous officers like Won Kyun and Li Il, the god damn king of Chosen himself, and politions. The land was fortunate to have man who was willing to protect it despite all the injustice done to him. Not many who would stay loyal to country who does leg breaking torture to you for being prudent. He really must of loved his poeple to endure such things.

  • i agree except one thing. Chen Lin and Yi Soon Shin didn't get along from the beginning and that is true, but Chen Lin soon began to have high respect for Admiral Yi as the war went on.

Chen was deeply sad when Admiral Yi died and he even convinced the emperor of Ming to support Yi's family after the war was over.

  • yeah, that is true. He cried, insisting that Yi had died in his place. A shame he didn't mend his ways afterwords. I would rather admire the Gwak Jae-u and the Righteous Army that protected Yi's base of operations during his naval sorties.

  • Definitely one of the greatest naval victories in worldwide history. Long live Korea! God bless Admiral Yi Soon Shin, his fellow naval officers, his naval and marine soldiers and sailors, and the citizens of Chosun!
