I've watched a bunch of videos on cricket on youtube. I've read the wikipedia about the rules. I just cannot for the life of me understand this sport whatsoever.
It isn't dificult to understand, try another time to read wikipedia. The first time I saw something about the cricket was the last years, I saw it in "Slam Dog Millionaire", after all I saw a test match on TV (on Sky), and after that the rules.

Pakistan got rolled pretty easily by the Saffers in the Super Sixes. Like most Pakistani's they probably suffered from an inflated sense of self importance and realised that when it counted for something they were actually shit. Its the sporting equivalent of premature ejaculation. Nothing to be ashamed about sport.

Yep, I love stirring Paki's and Indians, according to you guys you've never been anything short of the worlds best team, and every match you lost was fixed.
The last Asian team to win a full world cup was Sri Lanka, the most gracious and less arrogant of cricketing nations, fans and players alike. Take a leaff out of their book and admit your team occasionally loses because the opposition played better on the day.

Listen dude. I've never said that we don't lose. Most (right thinking) Pakistanis admit that we're the worlds most unpredictable team and we can play wonderfully one day and then completely collapse the other. And that's our own fault.

I was having a go at the clown who insinuated Pakistan only lost matches they fixed, not you mate. Pakistan played great cricket in the T20, Although I reckon the team of the mid 90's was better, Wasim and Waqar at their peak=awesome.

Thankyou! I'm glad this wasn't one of those comment fueds. I think this is the best team Pakistan has had for a very long time though you're right; Wasim and Waqar were truly unplayable.

No worries. Born in Oz. Trust me, you get a lot of clowns who take it way to seriously - like me ;) I dont follow Australia though - Pontings attitude really annoys me - I tend to appreciate the game generally.
I've recently developed a soft spot for associate sides like the Netherlands, Ireland, Scotland, even Afghanistan - they'll be a very good team soon too.
They may struggle but you can always count on them to play in the right spirit. Also the reason Wasim Akram is my fave player :)

I turned nine juring the Super Sixes and got my first proper cricket set for my birthday that year. - I'd always tried to see some of the games - I didnt know why but I'd become interested in the game of cricket, - Didnt know how the competition worked so was surprised England didnt get to play in the Super 6's. My education of the premier cricket tournament soon improved and for 6-7 weeks in the winter and spring of 2003 and 2007 has been dedicated to this great tournament.

It's called "Everybody Join the Celebration" by Dave Stewart but don't waste your time trying to look for it on LimeWire or any other place online unless you want to buy it. It's no where to be found, I've tried to find it for the last couple of years and have been completely unsuccessful! Great song though, brings back a lot of memories.

During the semis, Cronje was clearly not out as the bowl had hit his boot. And South Africa failed by a single run. His wicket could have made a difference to the outcome regardless of his form (he was in poor form during the 'Cup). Teams need to be allowed to refer a certain number of decisions to the TV umpire. It may slow the game a bit, but dont we World Cups to produce results in the fairest manner possible ? ICC will never learn lessons from the past.

I loved that World Cup, 99' the year we (the Australians) did it for the first time in a while. The South African runout debacle. The Hershelle Gibbs dropped Catch. Warne in the final. Lance Klusener may have been unstoppable for most of the taunament, but the Australians won. So the man in the 99' world cup had to be Steve Waugh with the most needed hundred I've ever seen against South Africa.
