  • @jfprouty1 Nice enjoy your trip and thanks for watching

  • I roll mine. Takes forever but it's worth the totally negligible amount of space I save, and it looks neater for 3 seconds when you first take it out of stuff. I'm kind of a pain in the ass about it... Cheers.

  • @ascetic43 Sound good, I may try that. Thanks for watching

  • @BigTVideos You really shouldn't, it's probably not worth the effort. I was really just making fun of myself. Cheers.

  • Is the opening picture a creek next to Florence Lake in CA? Beautiful location.

  • @coblaze1 Yes it is, hope to make it back this summer. Thanks for watching

  • nice vid interesting fully enclosed set up, i spat my tea out laughing when i saw the lion bit at the end too, lol

  • nice set well done

  • @wolfwind371 Thank you Sir

  • Howdy, It is 8x10 found in the fabric area. They come in packs of 10 feet or something like that. Hope that helps.

  • How big is that tarp? I cannot find the shock cord that you found at Walmart anywhere. No one seems to have it or know about it.

  • eh!

  • @MrJuangalt I hear ya but is something ya got to dooo

  • Every time I flirt with going ultra light with a tarp like this, I consider the dreamy sleep I get in my enclosed tent with the knowledge that I won't have ants and spiders in my bag. In the middle of last year I was up on a ridgeline, my buddy was fatigued and we had to stop. There were massive ants everywhere. Zipped myself into my REI tent and slept like a baby. Had I been in a SilTarp, could have been miserable.

I'm curious to hear your experiences with crawlies....

  • @enjoythewildUSA Ya I was in fear when I first started UL packing also. What I found was a I have more freedom with my tarp. I can make so many configurations. On one trip I got hit with a storm so fast if I had a tent it would have been a disaster setting up, my tarp was out and covered me fast and I could set it up under it keeping every thing dry. As far as bugs I have an Equinox Mantis Mosquito Net if I will be in a buggy area. its a good idea to check for ant dwellings before setting up.

  • @BigTVideos Also my pack weight is 18 lbs. I go faster, longer, and focus on the experience not my gear. It is a great feeling to go with less and become a part of nature as much as one can. When I was a kid I never used a tent and I survived. Have a good one friend and thanks for the comment.

  • @BigTVideos 18 pounds?! Wow, that is incredible. With my Big Kelty Red Cloud and all of my gear, my pack typically weighs in at about 50. I'll check out that Mantis net. I think the fella at BushCraftNorthwest uses the same item. Thanks for the response. See you on the trail......
