I agree, I think he tries to hard nowadays, he was SO GOOD in his time, but I think he's lost it. His voice that is, his guitar fingerpicking is still one of the best in the world right now, but his voice is shot.

Damn, over the years the same adage endures, there is usually there is someone in the crowd that has the combination of ignorance, arrogance and the false belief that his or her coarse comments will mean something more. Some would say it it pure immaturity. I find the great majority of Youtube people do not fit this description, but a small group do, including the one with the dumb "mellonhead.." statement.

Critics have been calling his music insipid for over 25 yrs. I called him an idiot because most his listeners would be lost if I referred to him as an imbecile. The fact is, Dave Marsh was the 1st critic I heard call him "Mellonhead". I quote: "Mellonhead was forced to change his name when most artist won't change even a note". Blues man, if you feel utube isn't the right forum for critique, maybe you can collaborate with their executives and set up some sort of guidelines for censorship!

i seen the show in minneapolis....it was fantastic...donovan was great with a big band behind him...and mellencamp wasnt that bad either
