They were believed to have been 37-40 feet long when full grown, and a skull that was found was 5'10." While the crocodile is busy with eating that gazelle, the rest of the herd will sprint and swim across the river as fast as they can before the croc can take a chance at them. The point is if you are strong enough to not be the first to cross the river or take a drink.

@DespairIIIX but i dont think that has anything to do with the actual individual. in this video, so many animals are drinking and pushed up along the waters edge, its like a mob, and the animals in the back just got there last and push forward. the animals movements at the waters edge are restricted. i think its more of just random luck. someones gonna get eaten...the ones in the back are just lucky. i dont think any are thinking "lets wait till one gets eaten" it just works that way.

We are all taught and then teach visitors that after the crocodilian (fancy word for gators & crocs together) bites down on its food, if the prey is too large to swallow, it does a "death roll" to drown and dismember its prey.
