The populace is alarmed that executives (Inner Party members all) are being paid handsome bonuses while the companies they've mismanaged teeter on the edge of insolvency, but fear not, a celebrity scandal or two and they'll forget all about it. The ranks of the newly-unemployed are growing daily, a positive trend for the Inner Party, as Americans are force to focus their attention on survival.
