  • If by some fluke chance the groundwater gets contaminated, blame the casing crew not the Frackers. 99.9% of all groundwater contamination cases Ive seen have occured when the casing around the depth of the water table failed... If you dont like fracking so much... stop using oil...

  • This is a well done video. Thank you Chesapeake for sharing how you go about the drilling process. All you haters can hate but you will never get any respect from me because you use fossil fuels to live just like everyone else in the world!

  • "This will protect groundwater and maintain the integrity of the well." Ha! I didn't know Chesapeake Energy was also in the business of comedy.

  • 7 layers of protection,it sounds like a tampon advertisement.....but those seals would be useless if an earthquake hits.....are they earthquake resistant?

  • A well made crime video.

  • what is this? an Assimilator?

    XD

  • 1:25 -total craft XD (minecraft)

  • A well made, instructive and cool video.

  • Great video. Accidents happen, but these companies are trying to give America the fuel we all want, and are very environmentally conscience.

  • oil ,gas and coal are the only proven way to produce energy so we can live .solar ,wind and other so called green ,with our tax money to prop them up still can't make it work.they go broke as soon as the( free to them tax money) stops.

  • They so eloquently leave out the fact that hundreds and maybe even thousands of families have lost access to clean drinking water because their water is now contaminated with things like radium 226, benzene, or methane. These people now suffer from illnesses ranging from rashes to cancer.

  • WATCH THIS VIDEO for the TRUTH

    GASLAND — ReThink Review

  • @brajdl There are several inaccuracies in Gasland. We encourage you to visit Hydraulic Fracturing dot com and the article about Gasland at Energy in Depth dot org.

  • im pretty sure its because of gasland that chesapeke and other companies had to change drilling methods or else the entire united states would of been contaminated

  • Although I do not live in Wyoming County, all my family does, and there was a water contamination issue in Dimock, Pa.

  • @kaymcclain1 We encourage you to visit the Ground Water Protection Council site Frac Focus dot org. It provides a lot of information about protecting ground water and drilling operations.

  • for a point of view independant of the industry, presenting the technical flaws in the fracking technology, look for a video named "Shale Gas 101" on Youtube

  • @gasdeschiste You might also try the U.S. Department of Energy's Groundwater Protection Council's website.

  • I have been looking it up. Did you hear about the latest blowout in PA, spewing toxic chemicals into the water? How about the blowout in the Gulf coast. The Louisiana bayou, has been crippled. They are sending oil rigs to Alaska as we speak with no method of cleaning up oil below arctic ice. If it was safe, I would be with you, but it's not. There are new green technologies that are being ignored while oil and gas continue to risk our safety. If you think it's safe, look deeper!

  • @chenzy22 Emergency-response procedures and many of Chesapeake's best management practices in location design and construction significantly minimized the impact. Tests thus far indicate only minimal environmental impact as a result of this incident. Additional testing will be done in conjunction with DEP to fully assess and remediate any environmental impacts.

  • @chenzy22 The natural gas well owned by Chesapeake Energy near Towanda, Pa spilled thousands of gallons of chemical-laced water fouling two streams and forcing the evacuation of seven families as reported by the New Age Examiner newspaper......K

  • Hydrofracking doesn't contaminate drinking water. Drilling of any kind is equally dangerous to the environment. Look it up, learn the facts.

  • "Chesapeake Energy suspended the use of a controversial natural-gas production technique in Pennsylvania on Thursday as it worked to contain a well blowout that spilled toxic fluid into a local waterway."

  • This is great to see this video after investing in the company. Looks good to me.

  • @Pukkpukkpukk Nice, I'm glad you like it. Now go watch GASLAND. Thanks for investing in the demise of our drinking water.

  • @chenzy22 Gasland has been roundly criticized by third-party experts (including the former head of the Pennsylvania DEP) as intentionally misleading and inaccurate.

  • The water was damaged in PA because Cabot didn't cement its casing right, giving everyone a bad name up there.

  • I don't understand why drinking water was damaged in Wyoming County, Pa?

  • @kaymcclain1 Hi Kay. Thanks for connecting with us. Could you be more specific? Is there an issue that we can help you with?

  • How do you trust that the mechanic working on your car doesn't do more damage or jack up your bill because you don't know what they really did in there? You don't. You have to depend on regulation and accident history.

  • @ChrisLyon The problem is, this new method was pushed through for economic advancement, against EPA's advice. They're destroying the groundwater for future generations. It's not as simple as a mechanic working on a car!

  • Your PR video conveniently left out the fracing process that is so dangerous and uses controversial chemicals that are responsible for the pollution.

How do landowners prove that what you claim is actually what happens or are they supposed to trust you?

  • Comment removed

  • @epistte The fracing process is almost always well below the water table so it's not affecting the water table.

  • @IStealPursesXD The frack fluid is being reported as coming back up into groundwater. Don't trust their word for it. Research the destructive effects of fracking. Advance the technology and then we can talk about the gas. Right now they're taking a chance with the drinking water of our children's, children.

  • @epistte Please see our other video called "Chesapeake Energy Hydraulic Fracturing Process" for more on that aspect. To find a list of chemical additives used in the process on a well-by-well basis, please visit Frac Focus dot org, where we have voluntarily listed them.

  • @ChesapeakeEnergy Until that information has been verified by a neutral 3rd party is is a press release from your PR department and it should not be trusted as accurate. How many wells does that information apply to and in what quantities is it used and are those chemical also properly disposed of?

  • @epistte They have a whole video on hydraulic fracturing. In fact, it's the first video below the promoted video on the right hand side.
