Hi Alan. This soundtrack is very good.(High standards on your channel, met.)Your art remains, to be enjoyed, after the 'act'. (Live music is 'gone'.) Cheers, Greg.
Tim's solos rendition had been released in 1967. In 1963 when he was a part of The Big Three (Tim Rose,Jim Hendricks,Cass Elliot) it was recorded on the first of their two LP's. It was Freddy Hellerman (of the Weavers) who had penned this gem. My favorite version is by Judy Collins. Uriah Heap recorded it much later on. Your haunting rendition offered here is representative of its haunting message and has sent a chill down my spine.
Alan, I heard that song on Hootenanny, and it's still stuck in my mind. I thought it was about the destruction in the war between the states. I guess it could be about any war. A moving video. ...Bill
Beautiful song, Alan. Don't know TIm Rose. Will have to see if I can find more of his. Thank you for sharing your paintings, friend. I enjoy your art very much. NAncy
@gerdenshed You're not old enough to have heard it first time around! As for the pictures, they're all pretty small and sketchy, took me about 3 hours, I think.
@gerdenshed Hi, Mark, you were quick off the Mark Mark! This is Tim Rose singing. Been busy painting all afternoon - that's what happens when it rains! All the best :o) Alan
