Played this at our babies funeral as we released balloons with prayers written on them... was perfect and beautiful... and this song just filled me with such warmth... he was a fighter till the very last moment this song just seemed to be his.... Miss you Hunter my tiny angel.... Love mommy!
One of the saddest yet beautiful acts of remembrance I have ever seen, I wish I could have been there. The humility is befitting the location. I suspect my great-uncle would have felt honoured to no end.
Could watch hours of this, can't wait to visit, my great grandfather was a vimy vet and luckily made it back. He and all the other great men that fought there make me proud to be canadian and I will forever be in debt to them and other fallen soldiers of past wars
I had the chance to visit Vimy a few months after the rededication. It's truly a beautiful site.
Surrounding the monument are several cemeteries, most filled with unknown soldiers. The tombstones read: "A Soldier of the Great War, Canadian Regiment. Known unto God." ... One after another after another. I cry when I think back to it.
Next time I go, - and there will be a next time - it will be with the biggest bundle of red roses possible. Its the least I can do.
I have to admit that I cried throughout most of the cermony. It was very touching and very canadian . Sweet and sad with no fanfare just a hauting knowledge of all the lives lost.Watching fellow canadians holding pictures of long dead realitives and weeping after so many years had a huge impact on me .
I was an absolute basket case, and I was one of the soldiers honored enough to be on parade at the actual monument at the time. I will never forget that.
This is so beautiful. It gave me goosebumps when I watched it live two years ago, and it still does today. Well done, Sierra Noble. Probably the highlight of the ceremony for me..
I was at this event live. Seeing a video of her performance does not give it any justice. So beautiful, brings me back to the moment i was sitting on the field at vimy ridge listening to this everytime.
My Grandfather was at Vimy in the 20th Battalion. I come from a long long line of servicemen including myself. Metis (french/wendat) and Scots. Your fair to breaking my heart Sierra.
My daughter Jennifer and I were in attendance to be with my father who was not only at this dedication but also at the original dedication with his father. It was a day we will never forget
When ever I hear this moving music I think of my adoptive grand father whoi served in the second world war and love how it reflects true emotion and does great honor to all those who have served and died and still serve.
Watched the re-dedication of Vimy on CBC. I was enjoying the ceremony from the start and was borderline in tears when she played the violin. I was amazed how it affected my senses. A real tribute to the Canadian Regiments of that period. Fantastic job. I applaud her talent and to those that sacraficed so much for out country. I wish that there was a Canadian Film agency that would take on the challange of making a movie of this battle. Similar to the "Band of Brothers".
My Great-Grandfather fought in the Great War when he was 14. And I miss him, I will never forget his sacrifice, for what hes done for Canada, and for his family. Lest We Forget
I wasnt there to see this, but I saw this on CBC, and though I cried for Canada, and for those who lost loved ones that have died there, Sierra Noble made my heart warm when she played up on the monument, I will never forget that great moment. Thank God that canada is a blessed, warm-welcomed nation that is also an hounored nation.
I watched this on TV in my godparent's house, located in a little town north of Edmonton. It was just past 9 in the morning, there was several feet of snow outside, and nobody had brushed their hair yet. We were as far away from that beautiful day at Vimy as possible, but all three of us wound up crying and totally silent as Sierra played.
A beautiful performance, and the most wonderful part of the ceremony! Congrats!
As a teacher of several Saskatchewan students representing the fallen soldiers, it was a very proud day to be a Canadian. Sierra, everyone there will never forget the haunting memory of the beautiful sound of your fiddle that day.
I was one of the stutdents who was their on April 9th to represent the soldiers that died on that fateful day in April 1917. I was also pivilaged to share that day with my dirthday as well as the birthday my soldier. The emotion I had felt when I first saw the monument had been lost in the heat and confusing of the morning but when Ms. Noble played this beatiful Metis Prayer, and everyone was dead silent I can tell you I have never in 17 years of life felt more truly Canadian.Lest we forget.
You did an exellent job, they way you played it really conveys the purpose of the song; to honor our Worriors, who sacrfice themselves for the greater good.
Ever since I watched the Vimy Re-Dedication on the CBC, I have been looking for an Audio/Video Clip so my daughters could see this very moving performance. I am so grateful I finally found it!
I was a student at the ceremony and I do believe that this was the most memorable moment. It was the only time that everybody was completely silent. Sierra Noble playing that song next to the statue representing Canada mourning her fallen sons was truly moving.
I was at that ceremony representing one of the 3,600 soldiers who died there. This song just about broke everyone who was around me...it was dead silent.
Miss Noble did an excellent job, and she really is the one person, in my opinion, who stood out the most there.
Beautiful tune, and such an extraordinary occasion.

Let us remember to honour those in Afghanistan as we do those from past wars in the future. They too fight for us and our freedoms.

Thank you to everyone who has written to Sierra.
The Ceremony at Vimy was a life changing experience for Sierra as it was I am sure for everyone who was present that day.
We as Canadians have much to be proud of and to be thankful for.
As Sierra always says The Veterans are Our Heroes.
God Bless every one of them. And those who never made it home I pray that they rest in peace. We will Never Forget.
