@BingtheLizard This is just my opinion, but we as humans rarely completely forgive others who have wronged us. While we "get over it", we won't "let it go", it will pop back into our heads from time to time. So, the best way to explain what God does is to describe it as forgetfulness. We can't understand how He can make a choice not to hold it against us, so we ascribe to God a human attribute: forgetfulness. Just my opinion.
