Everything you see is driven by the clutter engine. I'm seeing several useful things in there, like the moving around, photo selection, and bottom notifications, but to be honest it looks a bit unintuitive to me at places... like the right pane autoscrolling - this is much better controlled with a hold-and-release probably.
It seems to only be a canvas test.

I agree. Seems toy-like compared to where I think UIs are heading. Nothing wrong with experimentation though of course.
