um actually Hogwarts is in Scotland...and The whole world of Harry Potter is British so dnt think just cuz ur British that u own HP. Americans love it too. Jeez
i think they should just build one, like there going to then universal will be the only park that has a harry potter theme park, so it would be special
I reckon it a good Idea have Hogwarts. I reckon the whomping willow should be ride where your in a cage and you tumble around with a branch (safe of course). Have a rollarcoaster (the flying car) over the Castle. Threstrals should be another rollarcoaster. I also think that they should have a gringotts ride for the carts like the one at rainbows end (Auckland, New Zealand). A scary maze (Forbidden Forest), and much more.
I don't think they are going to be able to fit all of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter into a bit over 20 acres, they need to build just a Hogwarts in New Zealand (there is tones of room). Build it WITHOUT Hogsmead; have the boats going across the lake. They should make it exactly the same size as in the movies; have the Whomping Willow, Hagrid's Hut, the Shrieking Shack, and the Owlery etc.
.... thats gunna be like billions and billions of dollars... probably running into the trillions. Who would make something like that? especially in new zealand..? noone would go, thus it would become a financial flop. That whole idea is ridiculous.
By the looks of the plans, they arent going to have any room for these. Also in the Islands Adventure, America, think of all the tourists walking around Hogwarts, carrying cameras, phones, it just wouldn't be Hogwarts.
There would be queuing for hours just to the Moaning Myrtles bathroom (if they even put in). They could team up with EA, Warner Brothers, and the original architects and build an amazing Hogwarts! I arent saying the Wizarding World of Harry Potter isnt going to be great (I think it will be awesome), I am just saying they need more Hogwarts! If you think it would be a cool idea to have Bigger and Better Hogwarts around the world, copy, paste and post this!
I live in the Us :/ Which I hate, but I do think it should be in London, UK. Because its just....more fitting. wish I lived in the Uk :[ I hat ebeing American. :[
It should have been built here first, simple as that. I've read many excuses on the net about money, the fact we don't have the room - all bull. When there's millions of pounds to be made, you find room. Building Harry Potter world in America is the equivalent to building the first Disneyland in London. Really dissapointing.
that's true and there aren't much theme parks in the UK so you dont really think of theme parks in the UK when hear you theme park you think of of diney world in florida so it kind of makes sense for them to be making it in florida
WHO CARES IF IT'S IN BRITAIN OR US?!! Hire some British Americans to run the damn park and it'll feel like it's in Britain. It's the same freakin planet!! HARRY POTTER WoOHOoO!!!
I think the theme park should have been made in the UK. I would be much more happy to visit it if it was in Britain. The books set in Britain as well as the films are filmed in Britain. In my opinion it would be absolutely natural the theme park to be made in the UK. When the theme park is ready I think I'm not so into visiting it because of the fact it is in the USA. I guess I have to hope they will make the theme park sometime in the UK too.
You couldn't have made it in Britian. Land's too expensive and there's no places like Universal to add it on to, it would have to be it's own park and that would be too big a risk. No investor would go for it
im from the uk and i think it should be in the usa because you guys know what you're doing, it'll be crap if its done over here (even though it was invented here)
I'm not saying anything against the Theme Park being in Orlando if the Americans are building it. But I think they should have made one In the UK first. And with your example of DisneyLand... "Hollisterbabe"...
They may have three over the world, but they have one where it was invented, I just don't see why they couldn't make a Harry Potter Theme Park in the UK where it was invented as well as there being one in America.

I don't know a whole lot about the UK, but do they have major theme parks? When I think of the UK, I don't think of theme parks. In the USA, it's a huge part of our culture. It's what we do, and we do it well.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you ppl r just jealous thats its in america and not your country. Harry Potter is nationwide not just reserved for Britain. THats like Americans saying oooh disneyland should only be in America but no its not theres Tokyo Disneyland and one in France so shut up!
Well, disneyland was first opened in the Us... was it not?
I agree that it should have first been done in the UK before the Us seeing as it is a british based empire... and seeing that the americans TRULY got into it since the films...

HEY HARRY POTTER FANS...come onto my profile and post a comment on something you think will happen in The Deathly Hallows. Time is running out for the fun of Harry Potter speculation! We still have till July 21st
I am so excited! SO EXCITED!!!!!!!! I'm so going to fly out there when it opens. WHY DIDN'T THEY BUILD IT IN LOS ANGELES?! or in SAN DIEGO!!!!!!! I know Florida and Los Angeles have huge attractions with Disneyland and Disney World. San Diego only has the San Diego Zoo and Sea World. It should have been here in San Diego! I can't wait to go to Hogwarts! It's a dream come true!!!!
I certainly hope they don't "Americanize" it! As an American, I see no point in altering the story (or theme park) at all. We're made up of bits of many other cultures; we should be able to understand something that is presented in another cultures viewpoint. If not, then we need the practice anyway! :D
and apparently it will have a british theme. Food ,amerisms etc. So it will will probably have british staff aswell. It aint going to be american, it wasnt allowed with the films, it wont be allowed with the theme park.
first?...I'm sure the Australian one from five years ago was first. Something tells me J.K's not going to like the idea of taking it over the top and making it Americanised. They're acting like its a new idea. sorry to tell ya but it's all been done, just not in America yet surprisingly.
what do you mean by "taking it over the top"? you don't want theme to make it as real as possible? And have you ever been to univeral studios? The do very well with movie themed amusments.
Yeah I went to universal studios in Hollywood a couple of years ago. I may be slightly biased cause I work at Warner Bros. Movie World where the Australian Harry Potter attractions were, but I miss them so much and America does things differently to Australia and Britain.
yeah, but it's British. Scottish in fact because of JKRowling - American's always try to get away with "American-British". For example, Doctor Who is British, but FOX did a movie, and was crap because America had no idea about DW itself!
Would be in America wouldn't it? Stupid. A number one hit film made in the UK and the USA has to take advantage - don't get me wrong, cool idea, but use your own hit films, if you have any...
I understand what you mean, Sir AlanBugger, but the truth is the money for the HP films is American -not that I like that- so the films are technically American, or at most, British-American.
And let me point out, HP is a book, the movie is just one of the "advantages taken" of it.
your wrong J K put the effort into making shure that americans stayed in there place with the film. she said the cast and crew had to be british and it had to be filmed in britian. but obviosly
hasn't worked has it? america still likes to think its an american film. (BRITISH FILM) america has loads of big movies. they should just exept that this is ours.!!!!!!!!!
so, just because the books or movies wernt made in america we cant have anything to do with it? i dont think so. americans like harry potter as much as british. if not more.
