  • Wanna talk loneliness? Last week was my birthday, and the highlight was that I took a long nap. Don't have any friends to invite.

  • I felt like "God's lonely man" through my school years and even today somewhat. The few times I would socialize and go to parties I'd feel even worse as I generally would feel drained trying to play the social games most people play. But somewhere along the lines I just accepted who I was and didn't care anymore. Only then could I look myself in the mirror and get people to like me for me even if I don't have that many friends.

  • Travis for president

  • Once there was a little kid named benefit....

  • thumbs up if your listening to benefit

  • best movie ever made. end of story

  • story of my life

  • Loneliness is such a theme in movies. From Rod Stiegers Mississippi Sheriff in ' In the Heat of the NIght ', to Jake Gylenaal character Donnie Darko,to George Clooneys character Ryan Byng in the movie ' Up in the Air ' he states "we all die alone". Sometimes it is better to be alone than want to be alone....We are just travellers on this planet, we meet each other for such a short period of time.

  • If not for my family i wouldn't bother anymore with myself, i go even to fucking college for them i don't give a fuck for an easier life with this state of mind its hopeless it's a repeating act of hiding behind the empty smiles, i'm sure there is no thing for me as happiness in life i just got to pull this trough because they worked their asses of for me all this years so i own them this much....

  • the freaky weird thing is, i can actually relate to taxi driver. however creepy he is, i understand where hes coming from. its a strange sensation watching this movie.

  • the only cure... keep living if you have family or kill your self if you have nothing to lose.

  • Thats how I feel. I almost never feel i meet a person who I really connect with. When I do meet a person I dont feel they see me. Even when we are talking to each other.

  • 17 seconds? really? Was it necessary to cut off every other part of this scene?

  • in this age, loneliness seems much more widespread than ever before. People are spending less time socializing in person and rather online. Ive lost all touch with people, I haven't talked to anyone close for almost 4 months and have been really locked away, I hear noises and see things that aren't there but it doesn't affect me from functioning, frequent masturbation and working out is constant. I feel untouchable but at the same time extremely sad and alone.

  • @pyrosheen How fitting, since I'm using the internet to tell you that I'm the same way. We're all in our little insulated cells of isolation

  • loneliness still follows me....

  • schizophrenia and masterbation have followed me my whole life. at night, in bathrooms, hotels, walking the street, and in my car. I jerk off than I hear shit

  • Forever Alone

  • I hate this film, because it reminds me of myself too much!!

  • @WAHCHINKSAPA07 I love this film, because it reminds me of myself alot.

  • Loneliness has been following me all my life too, but I´ve never felt like I´m God´s Lonely Man. I´m not that sick yet...

  • People on here should be listening to Low Self Opinion by Rollins Band.

  • Travis would have it even tougher nowadays than back then, all you ever seem to see is people walking around engrossed in the virtual worlds of their smartphones/apple products. Thousands of people marching down the street with heads pointed downwards. Try saying hello to a pretty girl on public transport or in a bar when her eyes are fixed on the screen of her Blackberry or whatever. You just can't approach people anymore. We all live in our own technological bubbles now.

  • @Moot1987 Sad, but true.

  • @Moot1987 ever try saying hello to anyone other than "a pretty girl"? you just sound like you need to get laid

  • @Moot1987

    uh. no.

  • Feelin like this right now

  • i feel the exact same way. sometimes i think, its the feeling of the galaxy. the endless space we dont know outside of our world. its like flying like a metroid forever around and around.

  • @drago717 Metroid ftw.

  • the worst feeling of loneliness is waking up in the middle of the night knowing you're all alone

  • Forever Alone.

  • yeah, even in the south whenever i'in a big metropolitan city like atlanta or jacksonville, or miami the feeling of being lonely kind of hits home more than when i'm in a smaller town where it's more personalized a little.

  • Rogue Troopers!

    We get the biggest missions,

cause we can do it alone.

    God's lonely Man.

  • The one dislike must have not liked this video.

  • @HenryBurris10 The one dislike is in denial.

  • Poetry.

  • We are all alone, but lonelines is different.

  • In bars in cars its everywhere, well said. And if you think about it, its cold gaze pierces all the walls we build, and all the lies we tell ourselves. Its always been here, and it always will.

  • travis's words.....its like he entered my soul...ahhhh im only 17.

    i've succumbed to society's wraths....

  • @avasephora Listen to some Winger. Try not to think so much.

  • @avasephora try not to think too much, it is just life...live it...I feel the same way. I laugh at the society and keep on rollin'.

  • I too, have been God's Lonely Man

  • Lonliness is a shadow

  • @VicePower

At least you should know you are not alone on this one... ...

People like you are fighting, they are holding on, living the best out of their lonely life......

You can be lonely, just don't let yourself fall into corruption.

  • I have done what we speak of, but only as a kid. So I know what you are tring to convey or fell amongst your peers. If your doing it and you are a middle-aged man(or woman) , it is unhealthy. BTW, good conversation.

  • cont. It's something people looking for acceptance do, while also tring to find acceptance within themselves. Also I am not tring to insult you. But by seeing how many times you tried to reply with the same comment, (I've done it myself) I can see that that my comment irked you.( This is just my insight, or opinion.) If you are young, you still have a chance to shed this kind of depressive thinking. If you are older, say 30's, it probably is too late. You will always think amongst these lines.

  • 1. My comment doesn't necessarily mean you are a teenager, you could be a middle aged person with the maturity of a teenager. (But I don't believe you are a teenager now. I've read your post and you pretty well spoken.) 2. The blushing thing makes "you" feel cool, for lack of a better word. You blushing, feeling funny, you looking at friends to see if they notice (what you are really looking for is identification.) 3. Many people do this same thing.

  • @orgasmicide2 Sometimes, when I watch this movie, I get really embarrassed because I feel as if Travis Bickle is me, and everyone can see just how pathetic I am on the screen. Even though I know full well that most people wouldn't associate me with someone like him, I still feel as though he is exactly me in certain scenes and it always makes me blush. It's so weird.

  • @LexPhilogus You must be a teenager... blush(LOL)... Don't flatter yourself... Your not that cool...

  • @sirlovemehard "You must be a teenager"

    I wish.

"Don't flatter yourself... Your not that cool"

    ??? Elaborate.

  • @sirlovemehard "blush(LOL)"

Because only teenagers are capable of humiliation, and the unconscious physiological responses which result from that emotion? You've got me now. You are very smart.

  • @LexPhilogus I've commented on you comment... But I forgot to adress it to you...

  • Travis Bickle for president! He's the man! Whenever I feel lonely I watch this movie and it makes me feel like I'm not the only one...

  • so can you. cause you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.

rant over. im going back to watching my "biography" for the ziollionth time....

  • so enough with the..."hey man...its al right you're not alone"...the truth is...we are alone. I am ALONE. at the end of the day what can any of you really do. therapy? fuck therapy. im not paying someone to tell me whats right and wrong and what to feel. i know damn well and quite aware of my atmosphere. loneliness is no stranger. fuck the pity. i've succumbed to this bitter polluted mind of mine and have since been socially inept. we're all lost causes. accept it. if a 17 year old bum can....

  • i'm 17, a girl, dropout, never had a boyfriend, work 5 days a week 8 hours per day, come home, sleep, watch taxi driver for the billionthtime wasting away in an attempt to comfort myself knowing "im not alone"...that there are others....buts thats a lie. its all an illusion...smoke and mirrors really...big deal, we're depressed...isolated...i for one can't do anything about it. happiness isn't in the cards for me ...for many of us so theres no use trying to socialize here pitying ourselves ...

  • @avasephora It is what you make it... Don't pity yourself... Because that won't get you anywhere and is counterproductive... Now if you were(or are) Jewish I would say go ahead cause' its in your genetic make-up shortcomings... Otherwise don't do it... LOL(in all seriousness)...

  • @sirlovemehard "Don't pity yourself... Because that won't get you anywhere and is counterproductive"

I'm sure she's thankful for the cliche wisdom. We are all enlightened now.

  • We're all alone at the end of the day. No one gives a fuck.

  • This is the intro to Benefit - My Story. . . Great song

  • If you're' Lonely while surrounded by people, or if you're Lonely at a party with friends,,,,Then this is the face of true loneliness' and this is the way we must end .

  • Taxi Driver is my favorite movie

  • There is a deep connection that people make to this movie, I did. Everyone at one point has felt like Travis and when I saw this movie I had all the feelings and thoughts that he did and it was like watching myself on the screen. That is why this movie is the best.

  • Holy sh.t, now this is what depression is.

  • @bakibol It's not depression. It's called being different. Those who know, know

  • @figthersdreams Nicely said, it's inconceivable to those who I don't.

  • @bakibol He's not depressed, he has an anti-social disorder kind of like Jack Nicholson's from "As Good As it Gets", he just doesn't get along with other people.

  • @SonnyA89

Not exactly. Jack Nicholson hated all mankind. Travis Bickle didn't. He wanted to socialize but he just couldn't fit in. His social retardation made him miserable, lonely and depressed.

  • @bakibol Hmm good point. :)

  • @orgasmicide2 I havent seen that video. I'll definitely check it out. I know theyre an industiral band but I never really gave them a try.

  • why do people only upload 17 to 30 seconds of video of this movie?

  • Lonely while being surrounded by people. Lonely while being at a party with friends. That is the face of true loneliness.

  • @Blakut amen

  • @Blakut indead

  • @Blakut.that s me.

  • @Blakut Sometimes loneliness is your only friend.

  • @IVomitOnYourGod Most of the time,actually... :)

  • @Blakut You don't know what true loneliness is. You don't deserve 134 thumbs up. So I gave you a thumbs down. True loneliness is easy to describe. You have no friends. No one gives a rats ass about you. You feel worse that shit 24/7 and suicide is a calming thought. You have nothing to look forward too. Your heart aches for

an ending. I could go on, but you wouldn't "get it."

  • @headley62 How would it feel to have friends, be "active" socially but still feel lonely, and be lonely? You think loneliness is a physical state, where you are just alone, no one is around you. Loneliness is a feeling... how would it be to continue feeling like you do now, even if you had friends and people around you, knowing that nothing would change, no matter what happened in the world?

  • @Blakut People who are lonely don't go to parties. I'm 49 and have never been to one goddamn part in my

fucking life you shit eating asshole.

  • @headley62 "Loneliness has followed me my whole life. Everywhere. In bars, cars, sidewalks, stores. Everywhere. There's no escape. I'm God's lonely man." maybe this quote lets you understand why this was my favourite film. Doesn't matter where you are. He was in bars, in cars, stores. Lots of people there, hm? But it didn't matter...

  • @Blakut Lonely people have no friends. Lonely people do not go to parties. You obviously know nothing about

    loneliness.

  • @Blakut that isnt loneliness u fool

  • @DancingMad17 Well, you disagree with me. I just gave the definition of what i felt loneliness was. If that doesn't fit your definition, so be it. I didn't mean to belittle what others felt. Ultimately, the way i see it, loneliness is not a state where you are physically alone, but a feeling you have. It can be a sad feeling, it can be a great feeling. I posted that top comment while drunk one night. Now i keep getting messages from people telling me i don't get it. I just said what i felt.

  • @Blakut well maybe next time u shouldnt post while being drunk ey! ever thought about that!

  • @DancingMad17 Actually, that is indeed loneliness.

  • @davidmjeong926 uh no it isnt!

  • @DancingMad17 Yes it is.

  • Taxi Driver for me personally is the best film ever to be made...De Niro at this stage for me was at his best in terms of acting..... One of Martin Scorsese best...everything about this film is on point...there will never be movies like this again...theres a grittyness which no one can replicate...

Travis as a character is just genius..he is so simple...yet he represents so much..

  • Those of you who are like me, the Travis Bickles of the world, we are the only ones who understand true emptiness.

  • to bad we cant go back to the 70s and revision Travis's experience...makes you want to.

  • I almost feel like this everyday. The most lonely I feel is everytime I get out of a date with a girl who I thought I liked and as I realised ' She's just like the others'

  • @figthersdreams Oh dude story of my life!! I wish I knew you so we could talk about why this happens cause no one seems to understand

  • If anyone wants to see an even more depressing movie about very similiar themes and one that just as good IMO...watch Combat Shock..its a devasting film.

  • Loneliness has followed me my whole life. Everywhere. In bars, in cars, sidewalks, stores, everywhere. There's no escape. I'm God's lonely man...

  • Is there anything sadder than people who argue on message boards? Whose lives are so empty they fill up space on a message board interacting with people they can't see or hear? Now, how pitiful is that?

  • @kentucy9999 thats not sad, thats loneliness. we are all a new generation of people raised not by parents and not even by society but raised by things we had choosed: by movies, music, books so diverse that its paradoxicly a far isolated way of being human. most people find their way to family and society, others dont do. and thats the type of men living in a city with thousands of people around them but are still lonely; sitting in their flat, watching the wall and try to get by.

  • Someday a real rain will come and wash all this scum off the streets.

  • well my friends i guess we are a bunch of taxi drivers ourselves. The world is an extensive and tough place. I guess we got to keep moving foward.

  • This films speaks volumes to all the lonely people out there that are ashamed to be lonely and are frustrated at the utter indifference of others to their plight.

  • Each time I'm lonely I listen to the movie and it helps me out...Like I feel I'm not the only one

  • I think Travis had just dug himself into a hole he couldn't get out of, no friends etc. He definitely wasn't antisocial but no one wanted to hang out with a odd taxi driver like him.

  • quality scene. most people can relate to this sometime in their life. there's so much scum in the world and they all deserve the travis bickle treatment!!

  • My favorite movie of all time. Nearly everyone likes it for the wrong reasons. They don't realize how tragic and sad it is. Thank you for uploading this scene.

  • @blackaltar666 Good point. It is very sad and tragic. It is the fall of a man, a real fall. Not financial, no social, but the fall of a soul. I think people react to the ending rather than understanding the rest of it. He tries and fails. He tries and fails. Not to over simplify it, but he's the outsider trying to reach the center and he just can't. I feel quite bad for Travis and I think this film is stupendous. It really is a coming of age piece.

  • me too! ....

  • Boo hoo. Blow away some pimps! Thant makes me happy.

  • @heatherandpaul2 I hope you die a slow and painful death.

  • @VicePower Don't feel bad man. If a thing has to work, it works. If it doesn't have to work, it just simply don't works. Loneliness, I think it comes as much as we allow it to come. It gives you sometimes, peace, sanity, but other times, gives us insanity and weird behaviour. Anyway, good luck with the girl.

  • Weird how somebody so anti-social would join the Marines. I guess could have been drafted?

  • @darthstew666 he is not really antisocial he just doesnt have any real friends, he got crazy and is kinda phsyco but he wants to clean the streets and do good for the city

  • @virtualsnake1994 You're only partially correct, but I appreciate your rebuttal to an exceedingly fucking stupid comment (by darthfuckface666).

  • @flatrose @flatrose thank you. that's very flattering.

i love you too, and i'll even thumbs up to prove it.

  • I love this movie and its depiction of alienation but Travis isn't the sharpest knife in the draw. At the beginning of the movie he asks the guy interviewing him for the taxi job, "moonlighting. What's moonlighting?" Later. He takes the Cybil Shepherd character to a hardcore porn movie and says, "alot of young couples come here." Travis is alienated but he's a little "cut off" from society also.

  • @kentucy9999 You're a stupid bastard.

  • " Simply Fucking Epic "

  • Everyone I mean everyone this cold world we live in could relate to travis one time in there lives I can relate to him many times in my life my top 5 films I have seen

  • in THAT he is not alone.that he is alone

  • benefit

  • I really feel for Travis.I feel the same way.I started meeting a girl lately and now she just stopped talkign to me and I didn't do anything to her..I dunno.Maybe Im destined to be lonely forever.

  • how old are you?

  • @teamwounder 24 mate

  • maybe you should put some pants on next time you go on a date

  • @DEACONFROST11 same happened to me , WTF?

  • @DEACONFROST11 Same happened to me long ago, with the most beautiful woman on earth. And sometimes I talk alone tryin' to figure what I did wrong. But anyway, it's a chance to get to know yourself more, to know what the hell's goin' on nowadays. I think the same, 'bout the lonely thing. But as you know it, the world is round, the seasons change, and well, people can change as well. Good luck my friend. I bet there will be someone out there, who would understand.

  • @DEACONFROST11 I absolutely agree with you.I was meeting a girl and she stopped talking to me for no reason.I was in love with her and I was couldn't control it trying to reach her,I almost attacked her once like Travi did .Then I started hating my life and people for being lonely until I accepted it.

  • @bosman1988 it's been done. Benefit - My Story

his stuff is old, but solid underground production.

  • thanks man!

  • God, I hope not.

  • BENEFIT has it done

  • @bosman1988

It was actually, in early 90's, but I can't remember the artist...

  • @bosman1988 You, and Carlos, and DEACON, are stupid, worthless bastards.

    A) hip hop is utter sewage and requires no talent whatsoever. Rap, and anyone who likes it, is despicable. These uneducated cocksuckers, making millions, have the vocabulary and grammatical skills of a 5 year old.

    B) And booh-motherfucking-hoo, you didn't get a girl you liked (or got dumped). It's quite a motherfucking difference from being a psychologically and physically scarred, socially inept, veteran.

    Fuck all of you.

  • @blackaltar666 Uneducated cocksuckers? Your prejudicial, implicitly racist and hateful remarks towards a different culture proves that YOU are the uneducated one. But thanks for being honest, Adolf.

  • Comment removed

  • @blackaltar666 ................boy. You're one happy guy. Your parents must be proud of you. Do you ever say anything nice to anyone? Sad, sad, dude.

  • @kentucy9999 Amen to that!

  • @blackaltar666 Well, if you're not being prejudicial, then you're certainly making uneducated, highly ignorant claims. Rakim, Chuck D, Sadat X, Guru, KRS-One, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Tupac Shakur, Shad, Immortal Technique - these are the names of just a few MCs that have displayed ethically, socially and politically conscious lyricism over beats. If they've pushed the boundary of what YOU consider immoral, then they truly are musical geniuses. There is a difference between hiphop and rap. Learn it

  • @bosman1988 I'm familiar with all of them.

First off, you need to scratch Tupac off the list, because despite having written a FEW "ethically, socially and politically conscious" tracks, he completely contradicts himself elsewhere.

As for the others, you are correct. But even though they aren't scumbags like other rappers, they still have no talent. They are NOT poets. They're rhymes are simple and uncreative.

  • @blackaltar666 Simple and uncreative??!!!! Okay, then, let's hear you name a few artists that are complex and creative! I'd be proud to call you an uneducated cocksucker, too!

  • @bosman1988 Whoever I name (regardless of their talent), out of spite you'll try to belittle them, so I don't think i'll step into that trap. Anyways, enjoy your souless, trite hip-hop.

By the way. Are you black, or from the hood? If not, why the fuck do you listen to music about, and for, black people from the slums?

I bet you're a lilly white douchebag from the suburbs.

Aren't you sick of getting owned yet? Give it up white boy.

  • @blackaltar666 I'm a proud Afro-Canadian! Why? Does that make you feel uncomfortable, asshole? Did you expect me to articulate my thoughts in a "stereotypical" way? Fuck you.And just for the record, hiphop was invented and cultivated by my people, but it's alive and well among all races and ethno-cultural backgrounds. From Big Pun, who was Puerto Rican, to Jin, who's Chinese, to Eminem, who's white - it's all music. I thought you knew everything about hiphop? Obviously not. Fuck you're ignorant.

  • @blackaltar666 I've got people all over NY state that show love for me, including the heads at Fat Beats Records in BK, so what the fuck do you know? Been to Albany numerous times, never got fucked up. Come to any Canadian hood, and YOU'LL be the one that's fucked up. Talking all hard and shit online, then don't say shit to a man's face. Pussy. I'd love to smash your bitch ass grill in, faggot. See if you bleed green, Irish shitheel.

  • @bosman1988 Look at who's "talking all hard and shit online." Lmao. Listen to you trying to get get ghetto all the sudden. Canada is soft. Fucking lone black guy in Canada listening to hip-hop wishing you could be in the hood. "Got people all over Ny State that show (you) love." Funny faggot Canadian bastard.

  • @blackaltar666 Lone black guy? Canada is one of the most multicultural nations in the fucking world! Wow, typical retarded American cracker.

  • @bosman1988 Percentage of blacks in Canada: 2.50%.

    Nuff said.

Oh, and cracker means a white person from a poor, rural area. I'm from a city.

Owned once again. You're starting to bore me.

  • @blackaltar666 Actually, "cracker" means "whip-cracker," as in white slave owners and motherfuckers like you. Owned.

  • @bosman1988 "Cracker is a usually disparaging term for poor whites[1], mainly used in the Southern United States."

Give it up. You can't win.

I don't give a microscopic fuck what you want to hear. I actually hope now that the douchebag with whom I've been arguing continues the issue so I can talk more about black people to spite you. Fuckhead.

  • Comment removed

  • @silentyp3

    a) i'm white. b) I was saying that jazz and blues are vastly superior to rap, not giving a history lesson. c) I didn't even bring the subject up.

And history (or the conveyance thereof) is gay, you say. You sound like a real intellectual. Oh wait, and you also think the word microscopic is gay too. You seem to have a preoccupation with gay things. Wonder why that could be. Faggot.

  • @silentyp3 Oh and I realized why you thought I was black. I said "i'm blacker than you" because I was talking to a black guy from Canada (which is very white), and I'm from NY (thought i'm irish and itialian).

And also, even though you're clearly a racist piece of shit. Travis wasn't. When he talked about not minding "spooks" as customers, if you understood anything about the movie, you would have realized that he was merely repeating a term he'd heard, and of which he was unaware ...

  • @silentyp3 ... had a negative connotation. Just like he was unaware the it's improper to bring a first date to a porno movie. He was socially inept. Probably like you. But you're clearly to stupid to even understand a movie you "like" (for the wrong reasons).

Damn I owned you repeatedly today.

  • @blackaltar666 I meant "too stupid."

  • Comment removed

  • @blackaltar666 im sorry.
