This game is reminescent of the older Shin Megami Tensei games, Nocturne is the exception where it has awesome rockin music, hell not a bad thing, I've played the Original Megami Tensei for Famicom, hell it was fun, it was as Fun as NES Final Fantasy.

In a post-mortem with Famitsu, kaneko wrote that this was Shin Megami Tensei 4. They dropped the number and set it in Antarctica to appeal to a western audience.
Atlus wanted it to appeal to western audience thus no Japan setting.
No Japan Setting = No number.
Regardless, the developer stated this is for all intents and purposes SMT IV so it should be accepted as such. You can also tell by the budget that it's a mainline game. The sprites are well-animated.
@dreamercross IF had no real story of its own. It was a "what if" game based on the original SMT game. Strange Journey has its own self-contained story.
I used DeSmuME to record, it´s incredibly slow unless you have an amazingly fast computer, but it´s build-in recorder is almost flawless
I play it somewhere else and convert the save to DeSmuME when recording comes so I don´t have to do all the game at that speed.
One thing if you are planning on recording this game, be sure your version is 0.9.5 BETA, for older versions the game doesn´t loads (For me atleast). ._.
