I just experienced the same thing in my 525i. Did you take it to the dealership? If so, what did they tell you?

@leilove23 probably the issue is harnesses located in the rear of the trunk under spare tire were subject to water or exposure and starting to ca rode. relocate the wires to left storage compartment and have your sunroof draintube blown out as this is probably the culprit for them getting wet in the first place. good luck
