  • AMAZING

  • this is the best band i've ever heard. big fan. keep up the good work guys

  • Was given the Special Edition of their first album for Christmas. I may be only 17 but I damn well love their music. People like Simon Cowell etc... saying music is dead... not until people like Port Isaac's Fisherman's Friends are gone it isn't!!

  • 2 people are from Devon

  • great music, and thats comeing from a metal head

  • i love being cornish, cornwall FTW.

  • awesome tune

  • great song you cornish boys keep em coming. how about some of the old cornish songs?

  • great song you cornish boys

  • if they suddenly stop selling albums and become less popular then they can just go back to fishing, that's what is so awsome about it!

  • these guys are the best thing to happen to the world since humans. I may b only fifteen but these guys are loads better than some of the shit out today.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS

  • @commando346 oh my days me to! Special :D

  • Amazing bunch of real guys singing great songs with passion and sincerity. Brilliant !!

  • I bet they get mad housewife pussy!! ;-)

  • Listening to this song makes me want to learn to sing like this, if for no other reason than the hope that I may inspire others the same way these gentlemen have inspired me...

  • Oh vevo when will you learn i'm a 19 year old man thats listening to FFs i have NO interest in man gaga's new album or conditioning hair products :P

  • 1 person is gay :(

  • @99Morsey he is probibly a justin bieber fan

  • Plymouth argyle!!!!!!

  • I am 17 and from a city, so obviously am used to listening to very different music to this. But these have changed this, everything about them, the story, the normality of them and how you can see they do it for the love of singing, not just greed. New favourite.

  • makes me proud to be cornish

  • would love to see this one night in a small stage at glastonbury because i'm likely to be in bed when they sing on the sunday :(

  • John Cleave - poster boy for Port Isaac

  • My dream is to take off on a motorbike with a laptop and travel across the country and become a famous author using said laptop whilst this song plays in the background!

  • This is just great - wholly inspiring and totally appropriate that it is being sung by fishermen - I can just imagine Jesus and Fisherman's Friends singing this today and did you notice - some of it was filmed in a church. I love it.

  • @gjksecurity It is a lovely song, and the church bit didn't go unnoticed. But either did the upside down pentagram at 0.37. I'm not sure what to think now. Anyway, Gods love & best wishes.

  • @IvoryTears1 An "upside down pentagram" as you called it, is actually a regular pentagram. It represents good, and the spiritual rising above the physical world (among with many, many other interpretations, including Christian ones). A pentagram with two points facing upwards is the adopted symbol of Satanism and thus commonly associated with evil. Again, however, there are many different meanings of such a pentagram as well. Christianity itself utilized both forms of the pentagram in the past.

  • Fantastic!!!!! where can I get it?

  • Don`t just listen go to Cornwall see the land and the people only trouble is a lot of people from outside have move in, but you can still find the old Cornwall if you look. Me would love to live on Bodin Moor always have and thats strange as I was born in London. Please also to read that the old language is coming back.

  • i absoulutley adore this song....i glad i was watching bbc 1 this morning other wise i would not of heard it...fantastic!!!!!

  • At the moment they are on BBC1 Breakfast show ! great !

  • I think this doesn't grab me as much as their other songs because I prefer the unaccompanied, acapella (sp?).

The guys aren't as relaxed as they are when the sessions are less formal - and it's their relaxed, ten friends together, style that is part of the whole appeal.

  • Next time you see a stray dog in the street, look under his tail and you will see this band,

    Why? you ask

Because they are the dogs bollocks....Superb

  • Awesome, brilliant, amazing !

I thought it may have been a bit cheesy shanty but it's true to the bone, i'm ex services (navy) and i warmed to them immediately when they took the charm that some people think the sea has out, putting a truer spin on it, great tunes

  • Awesome, brilliant, amazing !

  • I love this song. Fact

  • Argyle till I die

  • Everytime i listen to these sing, it sends shivers down my spine.. It's so weird, ut I'm glad Cornwall has something to be proud of for the moment..

  • love this, makes me feel like im on my jollys!

  • Went to Crovie in Scotland in Oct and my Grandad played this during the week. Its a fishing Village so had some meaning. Love it

  • Heard this on BBC radio Cornwall, and the lyrics really cheered me up...reality reallly isn't real....so just have a pint!haha And agreed with everyone else way better than all this r 'n'b crap and that's coming from a 20 yo.

  • it is great to have Cornish music!

  • I don't even care that all of the recordings are auto-tuned.

These guys are AWESOME, in the most literal sense of the word.

    Gaaaaah, I can't stop listening!!

    =^-^=

  • just seen them on country walks bbc1. what they've achieved is brill. singing in the pubs down there just makes you wanna sing and drink...............and they're all working men......congrats to you all

  • amazing, so much better than the mainstream crap shovelled down our throats by music producers desperate for a profit. Justin Bieber et al can suck it.

I live in port isaac, and these men make me proud of my cornish heritage.

  • Hahahaha Barbara Jane Paris' dog there!!!

  • Simply superb, i`ll buy you all a pint next time you visit us here in Brixham...!!!

  • absolutely love this group! i do my bofriends head in when we go fishing cause of all the little songs i sing now i have more ammunition, lol he loves it really, last time his mates were singin too! lol.

  • Love the 'Tash' Jon, :P

  • Anyone else think this sounds like a Napoleonic era Navy or Army recruiting song, besides one or two lines?

  • @JCaithness the style is based on sea shanties bud.

  • We have the CD its great. Nice to see honest hard working Old boys making good. great to see a range of diverse faith in the vid either intentional or not..

    Blessings )o(

    PBN

  • me and my friends visited Port Issac last friday, shame that we didn't stay longer to see them perform! absolutely gutted! :(

  • nice one liked it good work keep it up guys

  • Brilliant. :-)

  • @JacquesZupp

If you've drawn you're own conclusion, then why ask of its significance in the first place?

  • @JacquesZupp

The pentgram is the pagan symbol for fertility. HTH?

  • @piemushypeasandchips

I forgot to add, it represents Venus as well

  • @piemushypeasandchips The English folk revival is getting bigger all the time, I expect Seth Lakeman's new album to follow Mumford & Sons into the charts, and Jim Moray's got a new one coming as well. There was a great turn-out at the Folk Against Fascism gig last month - Chumbawamba/Show of Hands/Bellowhead, and I'm off to see the Political Songs show with Eliza Carthy tomorrow.

  • great music keep it up lads will be buying the album verhy soon

  • world cup song!

  • Fab! Reminds me a bit of Steeleye Span. Listen to Hard Times of Old England by them available on YouTube - the best version is the one posted by cheerydavie. Come to think of it, this might make a more appropriate World Cup song!

  • awesome

  • its took me over 2 weeks to find this song on here so pleased i have these guys are cool i want to move to port issac. All I need now is to know how i canget this as my ringtone for my mobile going to buy album and have complete faith its going to be as good as this song. xxx

  • This has really cheered me up !

  • These guys are fantastic doing what they enjoy and having fun. It goes to show that you don't have to be a young non talented waste of space to make a name for yourself, you can be mature and talented as these guys are. But please do not make it into a football song.

  • @Clivew159 i hate football myself but id love to hear this in the charts. its the best way to get there.

  • i love this!!!

  • Do an England song for the world cup, Please!

  • I'll listen to anything (except rap, there I draw a line), but I've loved this song since I heard it back in April when my uncle sent it to my dad. When I heard it on Radio 2 last night, I decided to find the song again. I've now listened to this song a dozen times and I don't think I'll stop yet (and the world cup suggestion is a good one, but you'd need to do a few word changes like (borrowing from Cooky2484) "We're on the road to wembley, let's find out how it goes" being a good start).

  • i didnt know charle's bronson was out of prison !!!!

  • they shud change the words to 'we're on the road to wembley" then it wud be a rite football song , but wud only work if the world cup was held in england :s ,,, no chance

  • This is the PERFECT travelling song. It has such an upbeat feel to it! ^____^ I can't wait to buy the album!

  • The older i get the more i appreciate all types of music. People focus too much on what is perceived to be "cool" rather than what makes you feel good, this is such an uplifting song and is sung perfectly, well done guys, ordering my copy of your album now.

  • Yes, England's world cup song - what a fantastic idea!

  • class!!! :)...

  • This is a truly fantastic song. I agree with @bananna2508 that it would make a good world cup song too.

  • This is just excellent, wonder how much more hidden talent there is out there waiting to be discovered???

  • that guys moustache, brilliant :D!!!

  • fantastic, proper local music ^_^

  • fantastic, proper local music ^_^

  • I like the cool bald guy with the mustache :)

  • @TheInfrasonicSound Same here! There's just something about him that makes him awesome! Ah, hell, they're ALL awesome!

  • Great song. This would make a good English football anthem.

  • great song lets have more

  • Brilliant. I don't know if anybody is the same but when I hear this it reminds me of Sharpe's Rifles.

  • @DrHarringtonUK That's because it comes out of the same traditions. John Tams drew heavily on his encyclopaedic knowledge of the folk tradition when he wrote/rewrote them for Sharpe. To be a "folk" song, there has to be a good singable tune, a story people can identify with, and a bloody good chorus. FF are brilliant at this. They are up there with John Tams and the late Cyril Tawney - the greats of the folk tradition.

  • Fantastic song!

  • This song lifts my spirits.. thankyou gents.

  • I heard this on BBC Radio 2 this morning and just had to hear it again

  • Great vid and a beautifully sung song

  • Gd old style Singing
