Don't get me wrong, they aren't right about everything. But when it comes to health care and especially education they are the most efficient in the current industrialised world. I'm not a big fan of the EU though, their joint Monetary Policies aren't working.

It takes ten years or more to see the true economic effects of a president's administration, so most of this should be attributed to past presidencies. The economy was headed South long before Bush took office. Not saying Bush was a good president, but he is not responsible for the economy.

I mean, it wasn't Europe's political and religious model of today that America revolted against. The reason why a lot of Europeans left for the US was poverty. And even earlier it was about freedom of religion. At the moment I would argue Europe has a better model on both areas now.

Um,, we had a recession in 2000-2001 that the tax cuts got us out of, or did you forget? Tax cuts also staved off a recession following 9/11, or did you forget.

how how and how. people fixing thing put more people to work, more money into the systum, they buy thing more people get work to make the things. if you lower there taxes they will have more money to buy things that will need to me made so more people go back to work, and so on and so on and so on. It won't actually put MORE people to work; what it actually does is siphon workers from private sector into public sector - requiring more taxes or borrowing to pay for those public sector jobs.
It also drains investment capital away from private sector, which leads to unemployment.
What we need more than anything is stability, not a rewrite of society.
Besides, only $1 in $10 is even slated for projects, the rest is PORK.

What part of "90% of the jobs will be in the private sector" don't you get. I agree that honey bee insurance and money for the arts is wasteful but this stuff was millions out of nearly a trillion dollars. You don't hear the republicans on the hill complaining about specific projects anymore because that stuff has been stripped out. Republicans are now asking for state aid and education funding to be removed but they aren't chest thumping about this because people don't think that is pork.

no your wrong. for ever $1 spent on infrastructure like a $1.65 go back into the system and for every $1 that is given up for tax cut $1.15 go into the system. also infrastructure in not pork and who do you think does that work, mostly contractors who do for for the city. we have let this nations infrastructure go down the drains and if we dont start to fix it now it will be so bad that it will cost a hell of a lot more. I have a feeling you think the new deal did not work as well

tax cuts are nothing. tax cuts borrow from the future. rich asses take their tax cut and buy a yacht, or save it. it never goes into the economy in a meaningful way. deficit spending (which wouldn't have been deficit spending had bushpig not gotten us into a costly war on a country that didn't/couldn't attack us) on public works projects also borrows from the future, but it will pay itself back in the money sent into new paychecks, which will be spent and saved.

Sorry, unemployment in 1938 was 19% and the following year FDR quit his monoply-busting and started backing industry instead of attacking it in order to provide war materials to Britain and, later, USSR (Lend-Lease Act), which got people back to work - IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR!
The WPA lead to a momentary small drop in unemployment but was unsustainable because of the tax cost. Only the private sector regrowth got people back to work.

The unemployment rate for 1938 was 17.2%, the higher figure comes from some dishonest conservatard author who cherry picked the number not from the official gov't figure, but deliberately ignored those employed by WPA programs. You are incorrect sir. Unemployment when FDR took office was at 24.7%. It was 14% when 1940 rolled around.
Spending does create jobs. A town decides to build a bridge. It needs a contractor, builders, architects, engineers all to build that bridge. The town pays these people for their work. Are these not jobs? What would you classify them as?
