The biggest issue with this approach is that you cannot change the navigation quickly in the instance of updating your website. I personally use ul's with CSS styling, Ive created a video response check it out!

Nice tut. I'm using fireworks cs3... I have not yet tried any of the default gradient presets. But I cannot seem to get those lines on between each button that you have. Are you doing anything to get this? Or is it just CS3 that won't?

great, thanks for this tutorial, I've finaly made one like yours. Can you help me though, as when I export it and insert the html file into dreamweaver cs5 the over color doesn't show when the mouse is over, yet when I preview it in fireworks it does. What am I doing wrong?

my button comes up as "button.gif" not "button.png" . 3:05 into the video he double clicks on the button and it disappears. Nothing happens when I do that. so, I can't get past that point in the video.
