  • Really wonderful. I was trying to look for Harry Edison's arrangement, but after sifting through all of the vocal versions, I finally found something as great as this. I imagine this was the tune that inspired the song "Valiant & Valiant" from the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit!

  • Nice job, Ed. You have a nice fluid line to the music and you tell the story so well.

  • wow! I never knew this instrument sounded so beautiful! Good job man i want one of these now i play trumpet and tuba but i want one of these

  • yeeahh!!! доставляет крутой мужик!!

  • Particularly nice tone and treatment on this Ed, a real gem.

  • thanks for the vide, now I know how it goes.

  • Thanks. If you've got an iphone or ipod touch check out my new trumpet pro app. There's a free lite version on the app store. - Ed

  • @edcontact Where did you get such a nice accompaniment?

  • One of my favorites, and I too like the raw sound better, but I play saxophone. This is great though, I'm going to start working on this tune now because of this video.

  • Beautiful!!!!!!!! Lovely!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Quant'e' bella questa canzone...Avete sentito la versione di stan getz & Bill Evans? Sentitela, molto bella anche quella. Bravo Ed!!!

  • Bravissimo

  • Very beautiful. Indeed, some of us prefer the raw sound. Don't mess with nature ;-) What did you use to record (mike wise?)

  • Ed, Ed, Ed. VERY nice, man. Beautiful tone and phrasing. Like the other poster said, your flugelhorn sounds particularly great on this video. Really, really nice. Herb

  • Thanks so much. I didn't use any effects like reverb on this video - just the raw sound. I'm just guessing but it seems that other flugelhorn musicians like you appreciate the raw sound while those who don't play the horn like the videos with the added effects.

  • Ed, I think it's because we really get to hear how beautiful that Kanstul 1537 sounds -- it clearly doesn't need any effects, it's that sweet of a horn. I've debated between one of these and one that's designed more after the Cousenon. Still unsure; it's not better, just different.

  • Excuse me -- Kanstul 1525. The 1537 is there new, beautiful trumpet that rivals (surpasses?) the Bach Strad 37.

  • @Motifator61 That's not hard though, is it?

  • Out of all your videos, this one has the flugelhorn sounding its best. Whatever equipment/settings you used for the audio, do it for the rest of your vids. :)

  • A great sound, fine timing and nice ideas in improvisation! I always like your flugelhorn.

  • You have the nicest vibrato ever!
