Nice cletrac .wont be long to get it in shape. I have a 1948 runs good blade and all .cant find grease nozzle to fit the 7/8 butten nipple grease fittings on it. ihope to put it on youtube. soon.
Nice looking AD there, buddy. We picked up a BD recently. The poor thing looks like it has about a million hours on it but I got it running & have used it a bit. It's a shame the way some folks run a vehicle into the ground without performing even a small amount of maintenance. Nice collection you have!
It was a well maintained machine at one time, Then some not so caring folks had it, and let it fall apart. I had to do a lot of work just to get her running, but was worth it. I am building a dozer blade now so I can do some grading. Thanks for the comment on this and my other works. Phil
Although the BD is in usable condition, it's doubtful it'll ever be a real showpiece. It has so much bad welding & repair it'd take me the rest of my life to cherry this one out. Some rocket scientist apparently broke the trans mounting bolts & even tried to weld the whole gearbox to the frame!!
A lot of thought and enginering whent into that. I will break down and buy a seat insert this spring. Like your handel there, I grew up in the 1960s, owned a lot of fast iron in my day.
This is a pree Oliver crawler before they were bought out by Oliver. Still the Cletrac company. It is around 8200 + pounds without any atatchments. The diesel engine adds around 1200 pounds or so to it from a gas unit. Still a work in progres along with all my other stuff. THANKS. Phil
Opps, my mistake. I'm new to the world of vintage crawler's. There where so many it's hard to tell whats what. Thanks for the info. Look forward to seeing more video's!
Thats OK. I am new to Cletracs myself, This is my first one I have owned. I am one of those people that when I get something I read or find out as much as I can about it. In fact I was buying cletrac parts before I even owned this crawler. Look at some of my other videos or search FAIRLANEPHIL on Webshots for my album. Phil
Water got into two of the cylinders and rusted them some, I honed the cylinders and replaced the rings. It is getting better the more I run it. I just wanted to get it running for now, later I will tear down the engine and replace the liners and any other parts. Cletrac DOOC diesels are exspensive to repair. Phil
Its getting there, my first thing was to get her running again and check out all the systems. Will have a new set of tracks soon and a dozer blade. If all goes well will sandblast this winter and paint. The farmall M was a project in itself, it is my work tractor around the house. Goto WEBSHOTS and lookup my album, search FAIRLANEPHIL.Phil
All so the oc tractors are a little more common and you can switch out engines pretty easy. I have seen all types of engines put in them even one with a automatic trans . Phil
VERY nice! I actually worked a little more on my oc-3 diesel swap, redoing the radiator and FINALLY hooking up hydraulics, bin takin my sweet old time.
Well there are no set rules, you get her done when you get her done. I have a old heavy western snow plow from the 1970s I am going to cut down and install, but I may set up as a cabel blade. Hope to see your oc-3 and that good sounding diesel on youtube someday. THANKS Phil

Great looking restoration!
I have just started to get into the Oliver OC- Series crawlers.
The Cletrac is an "ancestor" of the OC- models. Interesting to hear it run too.
I like the other red tractor, the Farmall M, in your shed!
