  • i hear ya! that's all we want on top of being depressed! gaining more weight!

  • Females have it much worse as far as weight gain is concerned, it is much harder for them to shed the weight. As a male I turned the tables around and used the weight gain to my advantage. I used to weigh about 135 b4 taking meds, always very skinny, I now weigh about 170 but it is all muscle, excersise with free weights has given me a build that could never be possible b4 meds. take it slow, start with long walks, then try running or biking, next start doing pushups, then get on the bench press

  • Weight gain is the worst. So is the dry mouth from my clonipramine

  • You're pretty.

  • At least your shrinks will tell you that weight gain is a side effect of psych meds. Almost every psychiatrist I have ever dealt with would say that these drugs have no affect on weight. Of course that is a lie.

  • @newsakafias you should exercise. Don't take meth or crack that's very bad for your brain.

  • No offence but this woman has no idea what in the world she's talking about. She seems a bit of an attention whore.

    .

  • You don't know what weight gain is until it goes over 100 lbs.

  • @MonacoBlast no shit... :(

  • You all fail at taking antipsych. Just smoke meth while u take them. That way you won`t gain weight. Seriously though, do you even bother to excercise, or do you just sitt on your ass all day and eat the meds?

  • seroquel has made me 12 stone!!!! effexor never made me put on this much weight. but im on methadone witch also makes me put on weight....i weighed myself for the first time last night after being on seroquel for a few months...IM GONNA BE A WHALE!!!!

  • seroquel can cause weight gain but not as bad as say zyprexa, clozaril, or even risperdal. and its not definitive you'll gain weight I been on seroquel for 3 years at 900 mg and only have 15 lbs in three years where as with zyprexa average weight gain can range to 25-35 per year. in the catie study in 18 months they found zyprexa caused an average weight gain of 45 bls.

  • Im really not bothered about other peoples opinions of my weight, and I will not apologise if I offend their eyes!!!! I suppose it is a personal choice...do I want to feel better, is my illness managable on my current dose or shall I increase and gain weight? I think mental wellness comes way before weight issues.

  • Thanks for making me smile !!!

I hope u find a med that works for u without the horrible side effect of weight gain !!!

    Good luck !!!

  • effexor n working out..i lost on effexor.took it 7 years

  • You are so beautiful, Thanks for speaking Your mind.

  • I was on 300mg of efexsor for 8yrs & I never gained weight.

I actually lost 10kgs on it.

  • i hate being fat because of my meds i allmost fined it to much

  • I don't mind being fat. Fuck society- the meds have helped me to recover almost fully. I accept myself unconditionally. Try it-life is a lot easier. Be a revolutionary! The clothes not fitting is really the only thing that is hard for me. I hope you are feeling okay Ms. Ispikol-love your videos

  • WOW do I ever have to talk to you. I am literally taking my first Seroquel at like 7 am...which is OH...today apparently! I'm super nervous, because of the weight gain, the tiredness, etc..I want to be happy, but weight gain is an issue for me. I've been on so many things, but gave up. If I gain weight, I seriously feel like I'll lose my mind.

  • The seroquel makes one have a crazy appetite.

  • Bullshit, exercise and the weight will go away. Water retention is minimum, and you obviously haven't suffered from psychosis long enough or you would do whatever it took to stop "it" from dragging you down that hole any further than you have to. Don't let your ego get in the way of ANY chance at a normal existence. Meds are good Mmm-Kay.

  • @obliviongreen

I totally have all the same worries as her. I'm worried I'll lose my sex drive, get fat, and be tired. How shitty! I start this med tomorrow, so I'm scared. I want to give it a chance though. I really do! I'm all about exercising to fight the gain!

  • i had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM, i was put on risperodol nd zyprexa when i was 12, i was thin and healthy, now 8 years later i am obese. these meds made me this way nd im still on serequel which in the 3 years i have taken it i have gained at least 100 pounds. i have many health problems from serequel but im extremely addictive. i take the meds for PTSD with pyschosis. it sucks.

  • RISPERDAL transforms you into a balloon. !! .

  • It is just as bad fora man, believe me. I was athletic and fit and healthy in every other way, before my life came crashing down around me. Now I am feeling much better again because of the Lexapro, but with an additional 30 pounds around my butt and stomach, I am not very happy with my self image.

  • @Vince1303 sammmeeee hherrre I gained 30 over two years with lexapro. withdrawing now and it sucks :(

  • Do you know if Carbamazapine makes you gain weight?

  • why are you so gosh darn cute?

  • Wow- you are gorgeous!

Was just prescribed lexapro today, have never been through or done any of this before.

YouTube has been really great during this time! Thank you!

  • @xraxon HAHA very smooth buddy very smooth indeed..

  • man.,.. if everyone was chemically imbalanced we wouldn't need meds.. damn the normal people!

  • not laxatives...lol

  • Im been on various meds since 1997. I gained weight only because I was a 24/7 alcoholic. Without the booze for 4 years and letting my meds work right Im 6'7" and 225lbs. I dont crave food at all or sweets.

  • Spoken like a true human being who understands his fellow man. Oh, wait, actually, spoke like a self-absorbed dick. Heyooo!

  • by the way: if u eat protein aonly u can't increase fat, only miscular mass. Don't eat neither fat of any type nor any kind of sweets, bread, past, cheese, chockolate.

Just proteins ( better fish) and vegetables and few fruits.

  • They say Geodon does not make you gain weight. They tell me this now for years of being on Zyprexa, and other anti psychotics. I exercise and try to diet but it is really difficult and demotivating. This video is classic though I love the humor.

  • It doesn't make you gain weight it increases your appetite and craving , so you eat more and you get fat. If you control your appetite you will be able to control weight gain.

I take lamictal 150mg 2 time a day , and it did increase my appetite . I saw my self eating a lot.

  • I've been on effexor for 8 years and have been struggling with my weight the whole time. People say diet and exercise will do it and there is no excuse but I went to the gym everyday of the week and did an hour off running and 40 minutes of weight lifting as well as dieting just to MAINTAIN my weight. I lost nothing from doing that for years. Now I am in graduate school and don't have the time for the schedule. So I work out 3 days a week instead. This is caused me to gain 50 lbs in a year.

  • hell im only on 200 mg a day and ive gained 14.5 lbs in 2 weeks, but what you eat plays a big part too.

  • i take 500mg seroquel and i dont gain weight! Its all about your diet and you working out.come on people take the pill, dont let it take you!

  • I take Lamictal for "hypomania" It just gives me a head ache. I was considering Lithium or Depekote, but NOT if I'm going to get fat. So the treatment would be, I can go from being hyper, to being depressed and fat--nice fucking trade off. Forget it.

  • Too bad they couldn't mix some appetite suppressants into all of these psychiatric medications. To all of those who say they didn't gain any weight on them....you are the minority.....buy yourself a lottery ticket because you are very fortunate.

  • Yes weight gain does happen on meds that is a fact it is on the side effect list, it changes the way your body motabalises fat and increases the appetite. Obviously this is a side effects dont effect everyone ask any good psychiatrist and they will tell you this is a fact.

  • I understand what you're talking about. I took abilify for a year and I gained 20lbs! I'm now on 2.5mg and I'll be off of it next week. YAY!

  • you look just fine

  • dont blame the meds i actually lost weight with meds you made yourself gainweight fat ass the meds didnt but food in ur fucken mouth wtff esta hyna

  • Are you mentally retarded? No, not a question...you are. What a hateful thing to say...in majorly effed up spelling.

Listen to what other people have to say about their experiences. You might learn something...dummy.

  • i took it for 3month never gained weight because of it

  • Oh, God she's talking about everything I've experience. Weight gain, slight depression, desire to not exist...sleeping all the time if I didn't have to work. Trade off, mellow, more mature view and response, bigger boobs.... sigh....

  • Meds saved me. I am BP1 and have had psychosis..not ' slight' either. I exercise and diet now. I was too ill to really care about the stuff you talk about. That's cos I was more ill.

    Evercise and Diet.

  • I was on Ziprasidone and Invega (a more refined version of Risperdal) and I put on about 35lbs. I took myself off all of my medications (antidepressants included) and lost the weight. I'm not psychotic anymore which is a bonus. Check out the documentary- 'Psychiatry- Industry of Death'. It's on YouTube.

  • i've gained 43 pounds in 6 months on seroquel :(

  • u need a good "pipe-cleaning" honey

  • Comment removed

  • Liz ur kinda hot u like younger men?

  • I don't understand, Effexor tends to cause weight loss, not gain?

  • your so beautifull

  • I have been on medications ever since I was approximately 16/17 years old for several disorders. In my teens I used to weigh 125lbs and I felt hot (I wounld'nt be able to keep guys away for me) and now at age 26 I weigh 190lbs, so that is a weigh gain of a whopping 65lbs with ugly stretch marks all over my body, ever since I gained all the weight I haven't been asked out. I have been single for 7 years now.

  • thats surprising, bet your still gorgeous! guys down ur end must be dumb!

  • im on lamictal and i havent gained or lost

  • Everyone that read this comment please watch generationRX! Download it from demonoid or google it. Learn the Truth about the fda and big pharma. Research eugenics and agenda 21.

  • I'd like to watch you get molested by your father.

  • Hi, I think you are absolutely right!!! i am resisting against the weight gain. I rater be thin and sick dan fat and druged!

  • you have a great accent.... haha ..and you're beautiful too...

  • Weight gain, weight lost, Who gives a fuck. I think you look freakin hot!

  • You do look great--sorry!

  • I have gained absolutely NO weight from Lamictal, and I've been on it for about two months now...

...wanna talk about gaining weight? Let's talk about how I gained 70 lbs. of fluid thanks to PREDNISONE!! :(

  • ive been on seroquel for about 2 years now...it really helps a lot...i dont really have any issues with it except for WEIGHT GAIN!!! while being on this medication..i have gained over 80 pounds. ridiculous...and no..there is no diet or exercise change.

  • you tagged this with lamictal but didnt talk about it. I heard its weight neutral. Any opinion on that med?

  • I have found that getting a dog helps on many levels including the weight.

  • i gained over 50lbs while on seroquel. I hated that drug! I was put on it by my doc cuz they said I had depression with bipolar tendencies. I was to take 50mg a nite to combat my insomnia. I had doc take me off of it cuz of the weight gain. Dumb med always made me hungry.

  • i didn't get any side effects from vilift, i really love how it cures and depression.

  • you look great and don't buy that garbage of having to be thin; you are who you are and happen to be very cute.

When I was depressed I let it run and poured my heart onto paper and it WENT away.

No MORE antidepressants! (Also NO MORE SUGAR; it's addictive too!)

You look great so don't even think about it!

  • 12 STEPS

  • Seroquel makes you gain weight because it slows your metabolism to a crawl. I gained over 50 pounds on this shit and it had nothing to do with increased appetitie. I developed diabetes and sky high cholesterol and triglycerides. Anti-psychotics are extremely dangerous.

  • did u find it hard to lose the weight? It's a struggle for me to lose the 50lbs I put on while on seroquel.

  • i'm living with 45 pounds overweight and i can't do a damn thing about it. I gained over 50 pounds when i was on zyprexa and originally gained over 55 pounds on seroquel. I tried other drugs but i didn't like them either. I'm waiting for Zeldox/Geiodone to be put on the ontario formulary so that it is covered by ontario disability. I hear more people say that they lost weight on zeldox/geodon. so i'm hoping i can take it in the future. i hate being fat because i was slender all of my life.

  • You are such a cutie, I am on seroquel also and i have gained weight too. I am also psychotic sometimes too.

  • Well i think your very pretty and you should not stress so much over your weight. I may be adding a anti psychotic drug to my lexapro and valium for my ocd but i am worried about taking it because i dont want it to make me zombie like or not myself. Very nervous to try it but my ocd can get real bad where i dont get out much during the week but when i do i like to drink alcohol to numb my ocd.

  • I take seroquel and I've lost 50 lbs. The only reason seroquel makes you gain weight is because it increases appetite. If You have some self control, you won't gain weight. No medication magically alters your metabolism enough to make you gain 80 lbs. It's about what you're eating.

  • you are ugly....

  • paxil too. i gained 20 lbs at first but was able to loose most of it. but i'm always hungry...when i'm on a normal sized dose.

also, the sex drive goes right in the crapper. maybe i'd rather be anxious but nice and horny rather than relaxed and feeling like an 8 year old.

  • she remind me masturbation

  • Totally understand where you're coming from. I stopped taking my meds for a couple of months last year and lost about a stone without even trying. Unfortunately my symptoms then came back so i had to go back on it but i've found that i can lose weight on meds if i'm carefull but i suppose it just depends which ones you are on.

  • Clear thinking. Glad to hear the truth told. Now if only I knew my psychiatrist's email adress....

  • Screw them and take care of your spirit; the rest will follow naturally.

Know your spirit, nourish it, you'll no longer need the meds.... Depression is a function of how we think, change that and you'll not need the pills.

  • i think u look great, stop being so paranoid

  • yea im pissed about gaining like 18 lbs.

    im always hungry as fuck.

i dont want to coldbloodedly kill people anymore,so it may be a good trade off.

    (not j.k)

  • Ive just stopped taking quetiapine seroquel after 2 half years of taking them id just about had enough the drowsiness anxiety tiredness and hunger it made me feel was driving me too breaking point Ive been off it for 4 days and the withdrawal is bad thank god for sleeping medication is the only way i sleep now i hate doctors u prescribe this synthetic crap they make me wanna vomit sorry for being negative but its the truth

  • I met a clinically-diagnosed "bipolar". Prolonged research via PubMed suggests the condition is very often a cynical fraud+hoax, used to explain/excuse/justify: vicious irrational deceitful vindictive unpredictable self-centered unreasonable selfish immoral vile/evil misconduct, to procure drugs/welfare checks/attention/sympathy. Advice how to deal with these cheats: RUN! Shun them immediately. Forever. It'll save time & grief. Find someone worthy of your kindness/affection. You've been warned!
  • you its the brain nathull d fence to reject the poison wicth is sara quall all so heron was a calf syper up. back in 1901 and it still is dmx.

  • i need a man to sex me up tonight hehe. msg me on MSN. ID is in my G

  • "psch drugs ake you gain weight"

    Are you a doctor?

I took Resperdal and gained NO weight.

"gaining 30 lbs...an unacceptable trade off"?

This I really got annoyed at hearing, you would prefer to stay in a psychotic state than gain 30 lbs?

Im starting to believe that 99.9% of the people on here dont know what a real psychotic episode is. Hell I would have traded my psychosis for 200 lbs! then went to the gym and worked it back off. This is helping no-one, people can benifit, why try scare them

    ?

  • ohh my god tell me about it, it made me gain over 30lbs. What i dont understand is that it's an anti depression drug, isnt it suppost to help with depression, so why is it makin me more depressed with gaining soo much weight. Everyone would always commant on how much weight i gained even people at work would tell me. It like f off, dont you think i know,u dont have to tell me. That use to make me feel even more depressed.

  • Im taking seroquel...god! I really know how you feel.My boyfriend even left me because I was complaining about the meds. So much so, that all my friends dont understand. People kept telling me that I have gain alot of weight. I just kept quiet because if I say its because of the meds... they'd look at me in a weird way as if its an excuse...sheesh

  • These fuckwits called "psychiatrists" spend X amount of years at a uni studying psychiatry, yet they never figure out the relationship between depression and weight gain. Weight gain causes one to become depressed, due to poor body image, and also by being teased by others, which destroys them. They should stop prescribing them willy nilly, it makes me sick.

  • Wow can't believe you actually take that shit. Well thanks for your effort someone has to be the geniea pig. You are beautiful. You will be missed. Rewiring has commenced.

  • Hey darlin, I know that weight gain from psych meds suck. I have struggled with it myslef. My doctor told me to take vitamin B-complex because my hair was falling out due to some of the meds. Well I found that it actually helped me to lose weight and upliftied my mood and gave me energy. Phych meds slow down your matabolism, the B-complex speeds up your matabolism. So hopefully this may help you. Take care!!!!!

  • I know just how you feel about putting on weight with psych meds.I feel fat ugly an don't like going out.Your a beautiful woman an you videos really helpful thanks.

  • my son went on seroquel for about 4years and has gain weight, he took about 100 mg about 3 time a day his stomach stayed swallowen all the time it was for his behavior.he is now on a abilify, and doing good.

  • im pretty sure it slows down your metabolism. It does make you crave carbs thats for sure. It just makes you really hungry for some reason.

It used to also give me breathing problems like sort of short of air.

I hate taking it but i have to.

  • Does the pill make you gain weight, or does it increase your hunger...or slow down motabolism??

  • all of the above.

  • seroquel has given me an extra 40 pounds in the 4 months iv been taking it. If i try to cut back on it i go nuts with withdrawl symptoms. Vicious cycle

  • I know how you feel about the weight gain. I had to take zyprexa when i was 11 for schizoaffective or schizophrenia and i gained 30 pounds in one month. I've tried tons of the meds and had weight gain from most if not all of them. I was wondering if you have ever tried abilify. I'm on it now and it hasn't changed my appetite at all. I actually don't ever want to eat. I hope u feel better.

  • I really appreciated this video, thank you for posting it. Luckily when I first started taking medication for Bi-Polar Disorder my psychiatrist put me on Lamictal because it causes very limited weight gain and I had a history of anorexia; he was extremely understanding. You're gorgeous by the way...

  • Are you sure you're depressed? You sound manic.

  • I was on risperdal for 3 years and gained close to 100 pounds in 9 months. Didn't help at all! It just made me gain a crap load of weight!

  • I was on Effexor for 9 yr's, plus a lot

of other Meds, I've gained a lot of weight.

My Dr. wont blame the Meds for any of it.

  • taking lsd might just help relevel those chemicals in your cranium and make you loose weight

  • i get you. good post. I won't tell you that you look good or you're not fat because I totally get you and know how that would make you feel. ; )

  • I agree, it is a bummer. I too am on effexor and have gained weight. Doc says 'Its not the meds.' Ha! Standard reply. Doesn't it just shit you up the wall? Is it innapropriate to ask what mg you're on?

Great vids by the way. You are braver than me. Debs

  • I wonder if this is a sketch, because if its not your highly entertaining for something that isnt inherently funny. So kudos either way. Informative

  • i know people that are like no meds=death

  • Drink a glass of warm water mixed with half a lemon when you first wake up,and throughout the day, this helps boost and maintain metabolism. I've done this while taking and not taking meds and I find it works very well.

  • Yuck!!

  • good advice. thanks.

  • I know,I am soooo sick of this shit,of gaining weight.Ya know,it's like damn,I'm trying to function, trying Not to be mentally ill(bipolar)which is hard enough, and I have to look GOOD while doing it?Fuck that,Why can't we go back to asylum living and TO HELL with everybody else????I am TIRED!!!!!!!Can I get a witness??? Peace out!

  • i was prescibed seroquel for depression. This shit fried my thyroid.

  • seroquel is an antipsychotic not a anti-depressant.

  • Cont. from last comment. I have just as many guys hounding me as I did before. (I guess some like a little junk in the trunk). Don't be hard on yourself, you're beautiful. Don't anyone be hard on yourselves. Take your meds the way you're supposed to and be happy. That's what really counts anyway.

  • I know how you feel, but it seems that finally staying on my meds the way I'm supposed to has cleared my thinking to the point that my self-esteem has returned. I take seroquel 600mgs a night and yes I've gained quite a bit. Going from 115 to 165 is a giant adjustment, but I finally have adjusted. It's different, but Okay, because the sparkle is back in my eyes from being in that dark place. People tell me I look better than I ever have and I do believe them because it's true.

  • Thank you so much for posting this...I've been on psychiatric meds for 3 years now and have gained 40 pounds! My self-esteem is horrible because of it....I love your video...very easy going, feels like I'm listening to a friend. Good job! And I hope all is going well for you now! You hit ALL the nails on the head!!

  • i agree, i take seraquel and it does make u eat, ill wake up in the middle night and ill make some food with one eye upon and barely awake its almost like im sleep walking,,, but u look good, u dont look fat, i was 160 when i started now im 185,

  • This is no joke. Best way to avoid wt gain of meds is to convince your doc that you also have ADD or ADHD. You will be prescribed a legal (sched II) stimulant. This will offset the med's sedating/wt gain effects and you will actually lose wt. But be very careful re: the manic effects on your illness. It works. I lost 50 pounds in 2007 that I could not lose before the ADD med (Concerta). If they all cause wt gain and make us tired - why can't we take 1 that keeps us awake and losing wt.?

  • Wow, I can relate to a lot of people, including you, Ispikol, here on this thread. I would love to talk shop with "yous," as I guess they say in Philly.

  • Just quit Effexor, gained 60lbs.. I'd rather be anxious than a heart attack waiting to happen. Bad news for everyone on this stuff? I've been off it 7 months-- gym 5 times a day, great food plan--- only lost 15lbs, and apparently, I'm not alone.

  • Hmmm, I used zoloft and effexor, and most of my weight gain came from zoloft. Effexor, over 150 mg, will increase your blood pressure. I don't like being anxious or like having panic attacks either though. Maybe I should work out. I might try Geodon soon.

  • You are pretty. How come you turned to the meds? I take vitamin B1 and calcium/magnesium to keep sane, should try it :). Take care

  • I swear, psychatrist want to destroy us all. I took risperdal, zoloft, and seroquel within the past five years. I gained over 80 pounds. But now I'm on new meds that are not going to make me fatter.

  • what you say sucks, there ARE such illness. did you ever see an autist ? like in rainman ? did you ever see a person who has a complex of inferiority ? seems not. before saying SHIT, I say it clearly, you should get some information.

  • Try 11 years on this stuff. I gained 100lbs which then got type II diabetes. My family wants me to be the person I was which just causes more depression. I praise you for coming out on this stuff. I was never properly informed which embarasses me. I couldn't understand why I was gaining so much weight when I didn't eat much.

  • Girl you're beautiful physically, and beautiful for posting this. Thank you.

  • You are great to do this!!

  • You are beautiful as a person, and you're physically hot. Don't let anyone- especially yourself- tell you otherwise. I don't have anxiety anymore. I'm 5'8" 260, and had a heart attack. But I don't have anxiety. Before the anxiety meds I was 5'8" 207, no heart problems, no hypertension. I'm 27 years old. I would rather be anxious than a cardiovascular catastrophe. Nevermind the self esteem issues and perceptions that others have of me. I respect you and appreciate your candor.

  • I agree with you sweety but please don't let this make you miserable. Honestly, I find you very attractive. You look fantastic. Some psychiatric drugs do make you gain weight, but you should try to exercise and try to control that weight. GOOD LUCK and please cheer up.. everyone loves you.

  • lspikol you are a definitively doable. I am sucker for psychochicks. What helps me is insane training regime, meditation and the rule that not a single piece of processed food enters my body. Good luck.

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • if it matters you look very beautiful as you are. :D that might not mean much coming from me though...

  • does it really make you feel bad if i call you ugly ?

  • fuck you you are very irrating

  • she ,s ill with bipolar problems ,thats why you find her irrating.guess how i know

  • my mom is just like you your on a super high state of mind and all the sudden your not makin sense then you flip out

  • my theripist wants to put me on meds, im not gonna take them now!

  • You are very brave. And you're right, 0% bullshit. Thank you for this.

  • i am trying to recover from anorexia, i've been on, get this...600mg of Seroquel! I refused it for months, for obvious reasons. I've been on it for a couple months now and haven't gained a pound.I was on effexor for years, now on Prozac. Didn't make me gain weight though.

  • Hey, everyone! I can't believe people are still responding to this -- I'm checking in again after a long time away. Thank you all for your comments. I appreciate your support and stories.

  • great on top of everything bipolar/cfs which im told is not poss now i gain weight as well .pass the meds quick. ps smlie even when you feel shit ,it helps honest. and it fools the quacks

  • ... you ARE gorgeous...jaja, i don't know there's just something about you. very cute..pz

  • I gained more than eighty (!) pounds on Seroquel.

It really affects self conciousness. But I think, for me, personally, it is much better than being sick (and when I get sick, I get very very sick...). I am currently trying to find a way to fight my "obesity", but until I do, I try to still love myself, no matter what. Also, I think, I am still good looking, although maybe not in everybody's eyes.

Keep on those encouraging video posts,

    all the best from Germany!

  • I knew your name was familiar. I saw an article written by you while attending a Bipolar support group. Hey, Liz, come join us at Friends for Friends (at Friends Hospital) on Thursdays at 6:30 pm. 1st Thurs. is Pizza night at 5:30 pm. C'mon, I am super high functioning with a high IQ. We are a fun bunch.

  • I think youre gorgeous and you should be happy about that :)

Also you seem really intelligent and I wouldnt mind having a conversation with a girl like you every day of my life.

So theres another thing to be happy about.

    - Marky-Mark

  • yay, pretty video!

  • There is actually in a study that has come out in a drug handbook etc etc etc one of the very rare side effects is Annorexia. I COULD LOSE WEIGHT....But I'm not countin on it :(

  • Im on solian and thats one of the better ones, but still makes you fat, whatever you are doing, keep it up, you look HOT, you could get a job on tv.

  • I kind of agree but I think you are generalisating larger people a lot.

A lot of "normal" weight girls would look great with an extra 30 pounds. I love the fuller figure, as seen in classical art, and I think the rush to be thin is a bunch of diet company funded nonsense.

Some people don't mind being larger, and have confidence.

But I'm already fat, and if I had to gain more I WOULD feel like crap. It amazes me that they seem to have done practically nil research into getting rid of this.

  • Liz,

I love your video, your argument about trade off between psych meds and wt gains are so valid. I think that you look great and have a great sense of humor. Keep it up. I would love to see Side Effect part 3 if you are willing to make more video. Take care

  • Love your videos. Not being here, you said it so well. As for weight gain, currently taking wellbutrin, risperdal, effexor, nortriptyline & lorazepam. I gained 25lbs which is interesting because I didn't gain when taking other combinations but once meds kicked in, I felt better, started working out & lost 30lbs. Just hope meds keep working. It's been 5 mos. Does anyone else worry about meds not working? I'm considering ECT next time they fail. Is there weight gain associated with it?

  • The meds will turn on you. Keep up the exercise, I took up dancing to compliment my swimming. I do everything I can to keep busy, and active.

  • ur not 13!??

  • Thats a joke you noob.

  • Damn, I took Risperdal and I'm taking Efexor too, and I did gain weight although I don't know if it was for the medicines or for for my lack of excercize. One thing is for sure, Risperdal and Haldol have a side effect called akathisia, it means that you feel very restless and there's no benefit worth that feeling, trust me!

  • right! I've had problems with one SSRI in particular. And self esteem really plummet when I was gaining weight. I try to go to the gym, avoid stocking food in my fridge, etc. I refuse to buy new clothes.

Just gained 10 punds...But it's been a lot of effort to avoid further weight gain.

  • much respect to you, Liz.

  • Always full of good information. Please stop thinking a video is to long some things are very worth everyones time. You take the time to make it I will take the time needed to watch it.
