Trying to move in the right direction for the safety of this planet should be our only concern. My biggest and more immediate concern is the giant furnace beneath our feet , what happens when all fuel sources are used up . The Tesla is just the beggining.

Electric motors are way more powerful and efficient than combustion engines, the only problem with cars using this technology, is the energy source.

Once we get more efficient batteries, smaller hydrogen cells, or something like that, combustion cars will simply eat dust.

If the Tesla can do this with ONE fucking gear, imagine what it would be able to do with 3 gears? xD

@Sugurain gear is not necessary with an electric motor, you have almost the same power at every rpm level, so no need to keep the rpm at a certain level like internal combustion engine where at say 2000 rpm you have 3 time less power than at 5000 rpm

@Sugurain Tesla tried 2 gears in the first generation but it kept failing and at times the gearbox got stuck on 2nd gear and 0-60 was as slow as 6 seconds, as soon as the 1 speed gearbox was changed, the car was much more efficient and the range improved and the acceleration.

I was able to take a test drive on the passengers seat.
