Ground clearance between a 02 and 09 is very little at it's lowest point. However, there are more lowerpoints ont he 09 then the 02. My daughter has an 02 limited with front skid. My 09 NOW has skids all the way back and getting a set of rockrails/side rails for it. Lift kit later but for now, I wanted the bottom protected. The 02 runs rings around the 09 in snow and I think thats a lot to do with the amount of ground clearance all around. the 09 rides better. MPG is better but seems weaker.
I like my 2009 Liberty, but I wish it came stock with a bit more ground clearance. It looked like the one in the video was gonna mash up his rocker panels
@MrBoondocker72 I think they are getting to be more car-like, while still being better at the trails than the competition. If I were going to have a vehicle that was going to be taken off-road on the weekends while being a daily commuter during the week, I think the Liberty would survive where something like a CR-V or a RAV-4 would break.
