  • Great video. I have a tough time getting the night bioluminescence on camera. I have an attempt on my channel. Not sure of the camera I need.

  • Thanks heroldtampa, I also have had a hard time filming bioluminescence. I have been setting the focus to manual and using nightshot mode on my Sony DCR DVD403. I also turn off the nightshot light. I even cover the red LED on the front of the camera that shows you are in record mode. The darker the area the better. I just got an underwater housing I am playing with now, hope to do away with surface glare. If any of this helps or you find a better way please let me know.

  • Surface glare can be overcame with a new moon and cloudless sky. I am going to do some more research on low light filming. I am a little discouraged with the lack of info on the web about filming bioluminescence. Must be difficult.

  • Have you guys already found the right way to capture bioluminescense in video? It is true there is very few info in the web about how to get it! There are some fire worms --among other things-- I would like to film, they leave a steak of bioluminescent eggs and sperm (I guess) but no idea what could capture such beautiful image.

  • No I really haven't. I am waiting to get a new camera and will look then.

  • This is great, Victor. When did you film these? Nighttime at the lab?

  • Hey Thanks Maria, Some of it at night in the lab and some at home. I made a tank to film the dark shots and the Bioluminescence. Great fun.
