you are so awesome for doing that. although i agree with sadmidget that people should see the real beauty in all people no matter what their appearance, offering a gift like real hair can give a cancer patient just that little extra bit of confidence, boost, and hope that may make their life that much easier to cope with. And thanks to people like you, this is possible. Great video!
while commending you you your good intentions, and that's really all that i consider in judging people, i think people shouldn't feel bad if they have no hair. we shouldn't try to give them hair but rather try to get the people who see them as ugly to see real beauty, which is of course inside a person.
Thanks for commenting! I completely agree with you, but I started also thinking from the perspective of a child. We can teach our children to accept themselves and be happy with who they are but we can't always change how other people treat them...and we all know how mean people can be...even a strong person gets dented.
on my part. You did a very selfless thing. I've always been willing to donate money to causes, but have always balked at things like donating blood. I have no explanation for why this is so, and I understand that it is completely irrational--some kind of primal fear, maybe?! I have often obsessed over that question of "what would you do if your best friend needed your kidney, etc.." You have given me a lot to think about--and set a good example...
A moving mini-doc, Mooba. I agree with your point that although issues surrounding hair may not seem a big deal at first, they can actually be extremely personally significant. My wife always wore her hair short in H.S. and college, but has kept it longer, mostly at my request, tho I know at some level this irritates her. And though I try to take the ribbing good naturedly, I'd be lying if I didn't admit the hair loss of aging bothers me intensely! This video inspired some introspection..cont'd
