There is something so incredibly unearth like about this whole film, as though it's a dystopian society or something, almost like the black hole sun video by soundgarden
Jamie Aspinwall, I love you with all my heart. Yes, I want to be your husband, I want to be a father to Mikey and Genny, and yes, you are the woman of my dreams... I just wish you would believe me. I wish I could show you in my heart just how valuable you are to me, more than any diamond, more than anything. I thank Jesus each and every day that, no matter what happens, He made you. Just the simple fact that He let me even be a part of your life is an AMAZING blessing. I hope you see that.
funny this is supposed to be the 80s? & those guys snorting in the hallway. I was in high school back then & can remember kids in the back of class doing lines on the desks, something about coke & the 80s who knows, I didn't get it back then either.
@jackheaney no because it was all the way in the back of the room aainst the wall & the teacher was up front in the middle of teaching. That specific class we had a Chinese woman teaching who knew very broken English (teaching a math class) & barely knew anything that was going on, it was the easiest class to do something like that in, other classes I'm not so sure they would have gotten away with it.
@Trixiechk405 Haha! Yeah, her "wtf?" face is one of my favorite things in that whole scene. And you don't really initially understand WHY she would make that face until the whole Jim Cunningham/Cunning Visions/Kitty Farmer/Sparkle Motion connection is revealed.
Really, i've seen this movie like ten times and i still don't understand it. I don't understand what it's all about or if the thing that i understand it's correct, that's one of the reason it's one of my favorites of all times together with Jacob's Ladder ( Tim Robbins)
if you watch the movie and then you watch just this scene, they show everyone who has a hand in getting donnie to bring down the jet from the plane. it's so awesome!
@Flyers9195 Donnie Darko, American Beauty, Magnolia and Shawshank Redemption. 4 of my all time favourite films. You can rewatch them so many times and they are so deep. I feel sorry for people who don't get the true meaning of them.
Setting aside the multiple meanings present within (I've only seen the movie twice, and I'm still sure I'm missing plenty), I would like to point out how much cooler this scene is than all those movies where the dorky kid introduces the new kid to all the social cliques in the school. THIS is what high school is like.
i just love how it's edited, i love the song, and i love how it introduces the characters and captures their personalities in such a brief but effective way. :)
This scene is amazing. Its probably one of my favorite scenes from any movies OF ALL TIME! It could be the music video for it for all i care BTW Donnie Darko =pwnzor! that movie is amazing my top ten fo sho
When ever i watch the movie I always watch this part at least 3 times cuz its awesome the best bit is at when he goes " something happens and im head over heels" thats my favourite bit =P and at the start great filming i used that in one of my movies that i had to do for english got an A cuz people thought it was awesome =P
because directing is an art - in that sense, this is spot on - you get it or you don't - if you do, you know that this scene/shot is about as close to perfection as it gets :)
Ah, I miss the good old days when they could actually make real movies like this. In my opinion the most beautiful and haunting movie ever made. I must have watched it 1000 times and it still takes my breath away.
@Lushdarkness "This movie is perfect in every side", yeah that's exactly what I told myself when listening Head Over Heels again ... Beautiful perfection.
Once again, this post has allowed me to go to my kip in peace. Cheers. Every once in a while this bloody (excellent) scene pops into my head when I'm trying to get to sleep and I can NEVER remember the song.
I had every other Tears for Fears song running through my head but this one. I'm going back to bed now, goodnight!
One of the best traveling I've ever saw in cinema, if you can observe, there are two traveling movements of the camera, this kind of move cost lots of money cuz of the price of the film needed for it.
Omg i love this song i really like when the teachers are talking to the kiddy porn lover thats the best seconds of the song. I love the movie your the best thankz for uploading.
