  • moron. that's what do.

  • Thats a pretty dark cloud

  • signguybob is a twat.

  • Why is he crazy for doing his job? This is a routine flight for a cropduster to get chemical on as much acreage as he can, and that includes flying under powerlines.

  • do you live in fantasy land or some thing

  • What a crock of shit.

  • Uhhhhhh NO

  • I've been a commercial pilot for 22 years and many of those were spent in an Ag Cat. This guy wasn't even close to crashing.

  • Title may be a bit off! Pretty standard stuff in the crop dusting world. It's just that the normal joe schmoe hasn't seen it up close before and gets all fired up when he does see it.

  • who ever thought he was close to crashing is an idiot

  • Didn't look like it was even close to crashing. It was making its normal dusting sweeps. Apparently you are not familiar with crop dusters and how they fly. You should change the title. seriously!

  • Parallax error

  • Why is this titled "cropduster almost crashes?"

  • If that was my house, I'd be thrilled! Love to watch those guys

  • I wish I had this job.

  • he didnt even come close to hitting that house

  • I'd say that was one of the more conservative efforts I've seen put into something like hitting a small patch there...

He was most DEFINATELY no where near a crash, nor a situation that would jeopardize his control of the airplane. As for the powerlines, those are much too short to be flown under and a clean-up pass would be required, but that's what AirTractor has fitted one-boom shut-off for...

  • 500 foot rule broken right there!

  • FAR part 137.49

Notwithstanding part 91 of this chapter, during the actual dispensing operation, including approaches, departures, and turnarounds reasonably necessary for the operation, an aircraft may be operated over other than congested areas below 500 feet above the surface and closer than 500 feet to persons, vessels, vehicles, and structures, if the operations are conducted without creating a hazard to persons or property on the surface.

  • WHAT....crop dusters always do that....hedidnt almost hit a house

  • Ops normal for an 'Agy'

  • if i watch carefully i think he sprayed something. look at the wings as he comes up.

  • One star video.

  • yea that guy was no where near crashing guys. i do this for a living. thats just part of the job. he was supposed to go under it. its the only way that you can get close enough to the ground for the chemicals to go accuratly where he wants it. otherwise your wasting your money for more chemicals because you have to clean up the areas where you missed from the dropplets drifting

  • Oh my God!! Somebody ground these crazy fools just for doing their job properly! Yeah and last week I 'almost' won the lottery. Once I almost screwed Pamela Anderson. Well I saw her on Baywatch anyway.

  • @oatminus20 - LOL! I had her in the shower once. She wasn't there...but I had her!!! Loved the comment. :-)

  • WOW.. and the sun ALMOST CRASHED into the moon today!! GEESH!!! They're NOT crazy, they're NOT barnstormers, they're NOT dare-devils! They are professional pilots!!!!

  • my old man is a crop duster, this is just how it goes, not even close to a crash here.

  • hahaha reckon wat was that all about

  • he was nowhere near crashing

  • I agree, to me its just an average day in the life of a cropduster. If he didn't go so low, all the chemicals would be flying around all through the city and that wouldn't be good.

  • looks like he was doing his job.....why is it titled "almost crashes"? i didn't see anything out of the ordinary

  • No, he was doin' his job, and incase you didnt know they are suppost to fly that low.

  • You need a commercial ticket and an aerial applicator's license that is offered, provided you pass your core and category exams, by your state's Dept. of Agriculture.

  • ha not really mate

  • My father is a crop duster, flying under wires is quite routine, but there were many acidents in the county we live in, he still wont tell me the accidents he's been in! I laugh telling him that "there arn't too many people out there that have nightmares about a civilian job!". So far the crop dusters in our county have reduced greatly, all the cotton moved out, so there is much less demand for them.

  • hey Firelog...funny you mention the nightmares...I dream of powerlines all the time, flying along spraying a grove or field with a cobweb sky of powerlines above me and I can't pull enough pitch to get over them!

    Yikes!

  • Fixed wing Ag guys are the shit...some of the best pilots you'll ever see...

  • I go to school at the

    University of North Dakota(commercial Aviation)

And I see these guys out there all the time doing stuff way crazier than this. Pure skill, I consider myself a fair pilot but I could NEVER do what these guys do. Respect

  • "Almost crashes"?! Seemed routine enough to me.

  • yep, no "amost" crash there. just a normal day of dusting!

  • Yup...that was a "trim pass" as he was finishing up the field. A "crash" was not even close to the agenda.

  • For you that that don't know anything about crop dusting, what you are seeing is a illusion looking at the plane from the ground. The pilot is very much in control, I am a retired crop duster.

  • that was insane!

  • what he was not even close to crasing

  • @signguybob With all the negative ratings you get, you arent getting a boost. in fact you go further down the videorank

  • My Dad sprayed in AZ for years. He worked for the 1st man to spray in AZ w/a helicopter. Dad joined the Army in '64 to learn to fly helicopters. Any of you OLD duster pilots hear of Bob "Country Boy" Leverton out of Tolleson, AZ? Dad worked for him a lot of years. This guy did a great job. Good video, thanx...

  • What do you need to go into agricultural flying? Commercial rating?

  • I looked intoit a few years back... Harold's Flying School in Illinois. I think he wanted just a commercial ticket. But that alone is an expensive step.

  • I'm still waiting to see the "almost" crash. Being a former crop duster, all I see is a pilot simply doing his job...flying low and avoiding obstacles.

  • Err,what crash? All i see is a normal crop duster doing what it does best.

  • Yes, but he wasn't very chipper afterwards.

  • My dad put a tree up his ass.

  • Did he get a tree surgeon to remove it??

  • One time my dad split two trees with his ag cat. he had to pull 3 feet of seat out of his ass though.

  • Born and raised on a ag strip and teethed on a a spray valve. I always love it when some rocket scientist all of a sudden is a expert in flying claims a near crash. Anyone who has been around a agricultural area knows crop dusters fly low and close in. That pilot probably thinks he was being conservative.

    Duster Doctor Jr

  • Would you have clicked on it if I would have wrote" Crop Duster isn't even close to crashing"? Yea I knew he wasn't close to crashing but you clicked on it didn't ya.

  • LOL you got me on that one my man. I probably would have cause I pretty much check out all these videos but ya it did get my attention.

  • Yea this guy has been dusting around here for years and hasn't crashed yet. We went to an air show and saw his plane the wings were patched up where he hit trees and stuff. It was kinda funny.

  • everyones an idiot oh there going to crash!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there gonna crash!!!!!!! dur da dur thats how they fly doing that

  • thats no near crash dude

  • looks like he was just wiping the end of the field to me.

  • fuck off,.... you either crash or you don't. He knew what he was doing

  • Yea, dude, this guy was no where near crashing. He was just touching up a corner or something. My father has over 30,000hrs logged flying crop dusting aircraft, I've seen and flown with him doing much more "interesting" maneuvers than this. What should this guy be brought up on charges for?

  • easd

  • Oh, by the way, this guy was nowhere near crashing.

  • I just had to come back and visit this...i still don't understand all the point of statistics and the basis for charges being brought....heck for that matter, when you cross the street, there is 50% chance you will make it and a 50% Chance you won't, so whats the point?

  • there is not a 50% survival rate for crossing the street, idiot. if that were so, then 50% of people would die trying to cross street.

  • If i knew you personally,i would take your comments to heart, but my intelligence won't let me stoop to your level of stupidity!

  • why would he have charges brought on him?

  • CHARGES??? I have seen duster pilots out in rural areas do WAY more hair raising maneuvers than THIS!

  • Charges????....apparently you have never seen some of the close quarters we have to fly in...this happens all day long to to put food on yer table

  • you never know to whom your speaking to. You should be very ,very careful. Oh, plus...knock off the language. Thanks.

  • You're an Idiot, Yea I'm talking to you

  • Ha, thanks..I needed a good laugh. The loss ratio for motorcycle riders is 50%. 50% will have an accident or put the bike down. Acknowledged that more than 50% of bike accidents are due to vehicles impacting them and not the riders fault, never the less its a house of cards.. Lets now talk about dusting. The loss ratio is higher than average private pilot aviating or even commercial rating aviators not involved in dusting. see next entry

  • well THAT is why I have the common sense NOT to ride a motorcycle. and it's worked out well so far!

  • Now, you may very well be a very good aviator and on your 10th log book with no accidents, but statistically your not in with good company. The issue here is that pole and wires don't cause the losses. Mistakes and inattention by that duster pilot do.

  • You may argue that its part of the job, but hey, the loss ratio is just higher. Period. The fact that you have resorted to name calling Chris like the other fellow and the fact that your not a kid, the odds are that I may very well read about you courtesy of the FAA or NTSB. But then again, I may not. Who knows. In the mean time fly safe and be well

  • Since you looked at my page you know you could read about me, have fun, You still haven't told us why we should be brought up on charges? have a nice night I'm going to work

  • This guy is indeed an idiot. I don't see why who we are speaking to is a relevant issue. Especially concerning people that are obviously incompetent.

  • both the pilot and you should be brought up on charges.

  • Just what would the pilot be charged with asshole?doing his job?

  • What are you talking about, All I did was video tape this! What charges would there possibly be?? Evidently you are a "City" person. This happens all day everyday during the season, in the country.

  • Hey Clipper,

Why do you feel the Ag Pilot in the video needs to be brought up on charges? And whats with the warning of "watch who you're speaking to"?

  • I think he's talking to me for calling him an asshole, sorry about that clipper,i meant to say f****** asshole

  • The day crop dusters have charges pressed against them for doing their job is the day the world starves (even more).
