Every ensiferum song i've heard sounds virtually the same. This could be from any album, go back to the sandbox with your dumb kiddie metal. And i dont mean this kiddie metal because its not hard enough for me but its very easily approachable for fans of lady gaga, soulja boy and such.

But the part after 3:04 is quite amazing to be honest. The acoustic thing, the vocals suck tho.

i dont think u can compare one ensiferum album to another becuse none of the albums are like the same . The Album Ensiferum is like old school and Iron is like in the midle between Ensiferum And Victory Songs.

I agree with you, wholeheartedly. That's why i am dissapointed with Victory Songs and this sample. It's very bland, even for Ensiferum standards. It seems Petri really "Northerized" Ensi's music. Perhaps the introduction of the other members had an influence as well. And even though it is a sample, one can make decent estimations about how the album as a whole will turn out just by listening to some short samples, especially with such predictable music.

Markus is the main composer for Ensiferum, and he is kindof strict to holding the same style as before. I dont think Petri even would Northerize Ensiferums music. All of Ensiferums albums have their own sound and style, so they are not completely comparable. And these are just a few samples, so we just have to wait until the new album comes.

Actually, their bass player Sami Hinkka was the main composer of the last album. Earlier releases, of course, have been made for the most part by Markus (and Jari).

Victory Songs was more consistent than all other Ensiferum albums. While I love all their albums, I'd take Victory Songs over Iron and Self-titled any time. I can't wait for this though, we'll see when it's out :D

Jari didnt write all the ensiferum material, Markus did most of it...the two that come to mind Jari did are Token of Time and Lai Lai Hei, prob a few others though. Both members are great for ensiferum, im a bigger Jari fan in general but for ensiferum its a tough choice because both do it so well in their own way
