I think this proves to us that this is a racket and that the Madoffs should be charged with RICO, they should lose everything since it is all stolen. Oh, lets not forget life in prison.

my understanding is that Madoff has family married within the SEC ...
so with this knowledge and the thought of all the payoffs with his web was cast far & wide enough to stave off detection .
