I work on a dairy, which is surrounded by land usually occupied by beef cows. All of the land has prairie dogs on them, and they're nasty. They dig big holes that, when a cow steps in them, she is usually done for (broken ankle/foot, hoof problems). So, in essence, my cows are worth more then this critters. We don't have the rodenator, just .22's. But this thing looks like it's a lot more effective.
Anyone who actually believes praire dogs are threatened need only to take a drive across the great plains of america. Millions are spent each year on different ways of controlling the and the dog towns will still grow by 50% each year.
these are the same rednecks that spend thousands on illegal fireworks. now they can take their obsessions to a new dimension...UNDERGROUND! WHO CARES ABOUT THE SEVERAL THOUSAND PRICE TAG. GET- ER- DONE!
This isnt a euphemism, farmers need to control a lot of things, control water, control the spread of disease away from their crops, control their soil nutrition content, and control animal population that destroys their crops.
I don't know how old you are, but regardless if youre 13 or 31, please, don't sound so naive. Life is not about imaginary rules you made up. Its about real people with real problems and trying to solve them. Thank you.
How is it cruel? If you took them and tortured them for hours, sure, but this is ending their lives in a split second. For them, it'd be more like flipping a switch than anything.
Oh, no, no, no. Don't misunderstand me. I love rodents and have often had mice, or squirrels as pets. I'm not against hunting for food. I meant exactly what I said: the men seem to get a lot of fun out of the killing, which worries me. I hoped maybe their excitement comes from the explosions, rather than the actual knowledge that they just killed a critter, varmint though it may be. And yes, squirrels ate my tomatoes all the time, but so did my dogs. There's enough for everybody.
sorry i offended you i must be such a bore. just pissed me off this video did. is it an effective method of controlling these pests? or does it leave them mangled and half dead? i'm genuinely interested. i've switched the sarcasm off
If you have such a problem with people killing animals protect vegetables from them, perhaps you should stop buying food and start growing your own stuff in your backyard. I guarantee that after having half your food eaten by squirrels and groundhogs you'll be more than happy to blow them to peices.
...Blast PETanus' blow-hole, insane, liver-lipped yappers with these great devices! REVOLT!!

Kansas, near the Colorado border. We have recently purchased this device within the last 3-4 months, and are satisfied with it :).

Who said our fireworks are illegal? If they WERE illegal, they wouldnt be sold across our state.
Oh... You're thinking of OUR LEGAL fireworks that are not aloud in YOUR state.

IF they were killing prairie dogs, this would be a problem. those are now threatened.
these are pests.
Psmerling 2 years ago 3
Only the Mexican Prairie dog is endangered, and the Utah Prairie dog is threatened. the other three varieties are not in any protected status.
Prairie dogs are a variety of ground squirrel.

Same technology that the Military uses on taliban caves, they call it an AF Bomb (Air Fuel).
LoadedForBear 2 years ago
Fuel-air bombs are completely different. They use atmospheric oxygen as the oxidizer. Rodenator injects its own oxygen.

"controlling?" More like killing. Tell it like it is, boys, you're killing small mammals. Whether it's needed or not, don't euphemize it.

not controlling the squirrel's themselves, but controlling the population. it is the correct usage of "controlling" but still a cruel way to do it.

I like how there's this widespread misconception that the systematic slaughtering of any species other than our own isn't cruel.
Prinsdam 2 years ago
how would you prefer it done? nerve agent?
britich 2 years ago 4
shit, lets just start eating em. that will control the population.

I can see how it would work well. I think the guys get way too much fun out of killing small rodents, though. Must be the manly explosions.
Dutchess550 3 years ago 2
so youre problem isnt the killing of the animals, but that its being done in a way that the operators enjoy?
