Was Paul intimidated by John not liking this song? He should have kept it because it's every bit as good as their other early music. It's hard to walk away after you hear it and not have that catchy hook running through your brain. Agree?
This does not sound like Beatle vocals to me. Forget Beatle history just a minute, and use your ears. Band sounds OK. But vocals - no way! Rhidalgo789 version much more plausible, if not another fake. But its a better fake, if it is! pauly?
i think this is peter&gordon.. paul wrote it but gave it to them... im not sure cuz im not a BIG p&g fan so i cant recognize their voices however i am a big beatles fan and this isnt the beatles... google it paul wrote and gave this song to p&g and they made it a single..
THIS CAN'T BE CALLED A HORSESHIT MAN... IT'S THE ONLY WAY WE CAN LISTEN TO A PERFECT SONG AS IT MIGHT'VE SOUNDED PLAYED BY THE FAB FOUR... IT'S A GREAT TUNE!!!..
NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! Ahem: 1.) Peter Asher has the original demo that Macca did. It is considered the HOLY GRAIL of unreleased Beatles material!!! 2.) Lennon ALWAYS made fun of it and Macca was embarrased to play it around him (which is too bad because it is a killer song, just like WOMAN) 3. ) The bridge is off---NO MERSY BEAT song when up a fret like that---that's too modern! It was a demo---Lennon didn't sing back up on the guide track Macca gave him. THIS IS HORSESHIT!!!
Any self respecting Beatles fanatic can tell that the group singing here are sound-alike artists. If you know your Beatles History 101, John Lennon never liked this song and always made fun of it. Which was the main reason why Paul gave it away to Peter Asher and the the only known demo recording made by Paul is in Peter's possession and he is not sharing it with any bootleggers.
It's a recording from an australian band called the Beatnix. Very good version indeed, even though not in a million years this would be mistaken for a original Beatles recording
@Cornllama@Cornllama That's funny, because I can tell their voices apart. I can hear Paul and John switching between lead vocals and harmonization. If you watch Peter and Gordon sing this live, it's way different. Paul's voice is much richer than the other guys. I don't know what the deal is, all I know is that this is the Beatles.
@TheodoresGF If you look it up. The beatles never officially recorded it. Not even the type of "Bad to me" or "I'm in Love" unreleased recordings. The only thing they've found is a small recording discovered in the 80s that may or may not be Paul singing while playing a guitar. The recording here does sound close, but the lead is a little softer in his voice than any of the beatles sang.
This IS The Beatles singing. (We were around when all Brits sounded pretty much alike ~ however, there were only a few bands that separated themselves from the others. It just depended on the genre. (but - I DIG your gossip and opinions!) kitkat
Paul McCartney wrote this song for a popular duo, Peter and Gordon... Apparently Paul was dating Gordon's sister and he gave them the rights to them ._. and that song was probably their biggest hit.
What I love about the Beatles, they wrote so many great songs that they were willing to help their breathern Englishmen. Peter and Gorden. Well, let's be honest, Paul did it to favor a piece of pretty pussy from Jane Asher when he gave this song to her brother, Peter Ahser. Can't blame him one bit. She was a babe!!
this isnt the beatles singing this...for the 3 part harmonies there isnt that distinctive john voice or paul voice, its to clean if you listen to other versions you can clearly tell this version isnt them
Pity John& gerge are no longer with us,if they were maybe we could hope for a reunion, would be a sellout wherever they played.Alas it can never happen.
The best some can hope for is a reunion of rubber lips & his geriatric no-hopers
This song can be used for some movie stories! With a little fight between the good guys who want to leave at the world within love and some group who want to make this world without a peace of love in everyone! LET THE STORY BEGIN...!
Is it weird.. like the songs The Beatles never released, but gave to other artists, they don't sound like they would be a Beatles song, you know? Like Paul's Goodbye, that doesn't sound like it could be a Beatles song. Does anyone else feel like that? Or is it just me?
Yes Peter & Gordon did the song, but it was written by Lennon & McCartney for The Beatles. It was never used by The Beatle but handed off to Peter & Gordon who had a hit with it.
Actually I have a Beatles album and they have this song on the cd. But everyone's right Peter & Gordon originally sang it. Still great video BetoTheBeatles. =)
This is by The Beatniks, from a Beatles tribute album called 'Its Four You'. Its an album of songs Lennon/McCartney wrote for others but didn't do themselves. The Beatkniks did them as the Beatles might have.
Awesome!
