( unlike body grips )these traps dont kill the animal ... there are traps that are off set and have rubber padding so it wont hurt the fur or the animal more than it needs to ... you know fur bussines is really big now in days .... these type of traps let you decide weather to take the animal or just set it free, altho i wouldnt trap bears unless i knew sure i was going to kill it , because setting it free would be really hard without a tranquilizer of some sort.
i just read a magazine last month that sayd it was doing pretty well so i dont know where you got your facts from lol... i didnt say they were the best years... but theyr not bad.
@tuttoz Some niche markets are growing, but overall the industry has been on the decline for awhile. If you find your niche and are good, you'll still make a fortune, but the average person couldn't expect to make a career out of it, unlike 50+ years ago.
its the same as everything else .... but yes , it helps a lot if you have quantity and quality to fulfill whatever company's demand ... if your just a weekend fur trader chanses are your only going to make a couple of buck now in days ... it really didnt decline , it just became more exclusive , companys only want the best , why , because people are willing to pay for the best ... but ofcourse , the economy and all that stuff isnt so great so yeah its not the same as before .
@tuttoz Well, no, it really did decline. Fur domestic and internatial gross product (imported and exported) has seen a serious decline every year for the last 60 years. Companies don't want just the best, they just want a lot less of it. There is a stigma to wearing fur, especially in the united states. People just don't want fur anymore, and when they do, it's rare, or for odd reasons.
Most markets in the united states are currently growing, regardless of the 3 year dip in the economy.
kk well first of all it wouldnt be with a vid cuz i gaurantee i would never see that money but if u put the money in my hand ...the other arm would be goin in there ...
That ply woo looks like plastick. but nice trap i have one to it only about 20 pounds. but does plenty of damage. a cyote set it off once instead of a bear and it killed the cyote in its tracks. cruched it's skull. those things do damage.
Well im sure theres many sizes of traps and kinds, I belvie you 100%... But stupid enough my friends going to try bigger traps i really discourage it but w.e
@steelhead1014 id agree that today it is just for show but the old time trapper did use teeth on their bear traps because traps werent as effecient and it provided extra holding power
walk in it and ill give u 500 dollars

do people hunt with those? hope not
GearHead318 3 years ago 4
They used to use traps like that but they use snares made out of aircraft type cable now.
The snares are lighter to carry, hold better and are easier to set

I know Uspray Im sayin like if ya dont check the trap it'l die. I know your supposed to check the traps then kill em.

the "teeth" of this trap make it illegal for use
squirrelsniper58 3 years ago
4,100th view. that trap would pin the bear in place while the bear bleeds.. painful way to die
SamFoXx33 3 years ago
These were never designed to kill the bear. I would agree that this style of trap would have to be painful though.
UsprayVideos 3 years ago 3
Are these legal? not been used since the dark age in uk.
britty67 3 years ago 2
Not for trapping purposes. These are sold primarily as a "decoration" for rustic cabins and lodges.

just be careful not to put your foot or hand in it.

steelhead1014 3 years ago 7
Just for show.
usprayvideo 3 years ago 4
When setting these types of trap it is normal to lay the second jaw over the one that the trigger bar crosses.
i.e. one jaw trigger other jaw folded over so both jaws are one the same side of the trap.
Then there is less chance if getting caught by the trap of you slip and release it while setting the trigger pan.
Then after the pan is set and you have stepped off the springs carefully lay the second jaw flat on its own side of the trap.
Your fingers should never be between the jaws. Never!
