those truck have 520hp and 2500nm of tourqe. They where made from 1994 to 2001 or 2002. Now the strongest Volvo has 660hp and 3100nm. BUT the 660hp Volvo is only sold with automatik gearbox because Volvo does´nt trust truckers with that kind of power..... buy Scania!
Here in Australia i sometimes drive 500 or more kilometres towing four trailers full of Iron Ore... total length is 65 to 70 metres and total weight is 200 to 220 tonne - but the trailers are legal width - 2.5 metres wide just like the prime mover... I use Kenworth or Western Star with three driving axles - output is 680 hp...
But we don't have that many hills and our roads are more than wide enough - most of the time...
Those guys sure drive awfull fast for the loads they carry. The biggest loads of coal we haul here in ky are 40 or 50 ton and I never start down those hills fast as they appear to be.
U right Thiess is the most proffesional operating company in these regions.
The 180 tons slammed into a illegally parked truck from an other company at 50 km/h in fog. The whole truck was just an incredible wreck, amazingly the pedals and pedalboard was the only thing that could be cannibalized!!!
Driver thought it was entirely thanks to Allah... yes with a little help of a safe cabin design...
I saw a pic in the magazine of a Volvo FH 12 or FH 16. It had slammed into the side of a tank trailer in the snow, and the roof was less than one foot long. The driver walked away after the road rescue had cut the door open.
...But maybe Allah/God helped Volvo in the design phase, who knows :-)
U know what actually happened to the wrecked Volvo?? Amazing the driver survived!!!I wonder how well Theiss(Aussie company)looks after their drivers and trucks!!!
worst music ive ever heard

Hi. Its actually only 520-550hp, with the 7.21 ratio diff. its enough. They spin uphill anyway.
