Hi Annie and Mac, you guys are absolutely great and a real inspiration to me. I've got a question for Annie. Do you ever suffer from sore cheeks? I've seen a number of your postings and I have never seen anything but a smile on your face! cheers from down under. JT
@JTBunbury1 Hello JT - thanks for the great message. I'll have answer for Annie on this one. Her smile is as natural as the morning dew, to be a little poetic about it! The playing may put calluses on our fingers but the music puts a smile on the face!
All of your videos are just fantastic. I also own John Burke's old time banjo book and was delighted to see your comment - you have brought so many of these great tunes to life for me. Thank you immensely and please keep posting - from another old time banjo fan in the UK
Love your music, recently learned liberty from a book by John Burke (late 60s), the way you play looks close to this style...by the way you are becoming well known over here in the UK...many thanks.
I cannot listen to "Liberty" enough. The ringing banjo puts joy in my heart. Annie's smile is so contagious that when I am blue I watch you play "Liberty" and I renewed.
Annie's smile is so beautiful it makes your lovely music even more truly beautiful. The music you both play is a national treasure and harks back to the days when America was unsullied, optimistic, and confident. I can not say enough except thank you from the bottom of my heart.
hey you guys-do you use standard G tuning or you just trying to confuse an old fella with mixed up tunings! It would be great for us guys who are learning if you could put the tunings in the notes----------please?
A&M me again - have you considered filimg outside? I would love to see your surroundings - is it in the country ?well maybe if there is no snow? How would it sound I wonder?
As fine as y'all's playing was, I still see Annie's smile as the highlight of the video. Smiles are worth millions. If I would be so fortunate to have her disposition I'd be one up on most everyone.

Well done! Did I detect a smattering of "Green Willis" or "Too Young to Marry" between the A & B parts a couple of times?
Wishuey 4 years ago
Thank you! Maybe, though not on purpose. I always learned it as an A and then a B with a variant that just seemed to fit.
