There is something strange with Peru and Titticaca. Peru has evidence of aliens ALL OVER the country! Plus lake titticaca has sea horses that live in the lake! This is almost the same thing as in the Mars ancient ruins anomalies they claim as ancient structures. I think it is part of the pixelization inefficiency of our photo sensors today. You can almost see this kinds of images on clear water that looks like computer boards or infrastructures.
The patterns you see in these lakes are identical to the patterns on CCD imaging sensor chips used in many digital imaging satellite camera systems. It is simply a reflection of the CCD sensor in the lens of the camera.
If you can find a diagram or photo of the actual CCD sensor used in the satellite that took the image, then you can take the patterns in the lakes and match them up perfectly with areas of the printed CCD circuit.

Unfortuantley I think this is just a trick of the camera. Go to google earth. Google "atalaya" near Cusco in Peru. The river urubamba/ucayali next to the town of Atalaya exhibits the same patterns. I know the river well and there are definately no structures there. Sorry - if you want a real mystery look into the cuban underwater pyramids/city that an oil company is about to blow to bits.....

artifacting can be caused by image compression algorithms, ie, when imagery is compressed reduce data size? latest googleEarth v.6 allows looking at historical data ... is the underwater 'artifacting' consistent over several datasets of the same area

If you look around you will see the same lines appearing in mountain sides throughout google maps when the color is just right.

A strange beam of light would be seen in this area of the lake that shoots straight up to the sky from beneath the lake. Something was to have taken place on 9/9/1999.
You'll notice that all of the lines run exactly screen-up-down and screen-left-right. In the highly unlikely event that these actually were real structures, these would be considerably more organic in form. Consider for instance: 8°20'33.40"S, 74°59'28.61"W
This is obviously part of an old river bed - not formed by aliens or people.
Yet there are the same straight lines. Hence, these are artifacts of the photo compression mechanism used by Google Earth.
I also believe what you are seeing in these photos is a reflection from the rear of the satalite lense. There is no doubt in my mind though, that many of our early civilizations were centered around coastlines and lake shores that are now under water due to climate change resulting in higher sea levels. It isnt that these citys were "hidden" so much as flooded by natural iceage cycles.

These anomalies aren't actual under water cities. If you look at these coords in google earth you'll notice its right next to one of the anomalies shown in the video, the shadows on the mountains east of the lake show the same weird city like formations. Thus proving the Marine surveyor's theory to be right. 8°51'26.51"S 77°37'31.45"W

Pixels, try it with the sky for example, take one or 2 pics of it, then put it on edit, zoom to the max into it, you'll see the same... it works with virtually anything else. Too much zooming in create lines and squares, theses patterns. That's why some of the 'cities' on Mars are boggus.The Marine Surveyor below is right.
So why are the structures only in submerged areas, no structures surrounding the bodies of water. It would be an unreal coincidence if all these structures were built upon areas of vulnerable flooding! My opinion is this story is fabricated.

The lens resonance issue is a common problem with many CCD devices and is more likely to be the cause of this effect in the case of satellite imagery... especially when there is a distinct lack of compression artifacts elsewhere in the image (which would disqualify that explanation).

I myself am a former digital artist and digital imaging professional and I can tell you that what you are seeing here are image compression artifacts... areas where the actual pixel and color information of a raster image has been removed to make the file smaller.
These compression artifacts appear in many Google Earth/Maps images and can also be found in many shadowed areas where it is known that no shapes like these exist.
@radionactive So, it's a routine and normal thing for Google to bring out a program like G.E., that relies heavily on detailed, and downloadable imagery, only to compress the hell out parts of that imagery, parts that hold particular interest and intrigue to a great many users, yet the priority would be to compress to keep the file size small.
Seems to me the opposite would be the goal. I could understand showing lower res imagery in remote wilderness areas, like Siberia etc, but not here.
The images streaming to your computer from the Google Earth servers are all in compressed .jpeg format. Satellites send RAW data back to earth which is then converted into standard uncompressed TIFF format for maximum detail. Google compress the images in order to make things run faster and more reliably. Everyone would need fibre running into their homes to run a Google Earth that used nothing but satellite TIFF images.
Anyway, it is already confirmed to be an introduced pattern. The reason for this is because there are currently over one thousand locations on Google Earth where you will find them. Over two thirds of those locations are found in areas where it is 100% known not to exist. In other words, areas where planes have flown over, or where people already live and nothing exists there... even though Google Earth seems to indicate so.
So, what explanation do you have for these patterns showing up in areas where there is a predominant level of cyan in the image (a color that is known to cause problems with imaging equipment) as well as the same patterns showing up in hundreds of mountain shadows, hundreds of public swimming pools, shallow areas of water off the Bahamas (where no patterns exist) as well as many manmade structures and some salt mines/rice paddies?
Ever wondered why some of these patterns appear to be identical to CCD or CMOS sensing circuits? I've read that digital cameras can sometimes capture the rear of the lens aperture, right where the image sensor circuit sits. Normally, when there is no detail to capture, the image will either record a solid area of color or, given the right lighting conditions, record the internal reflection of the image sensor circuit on the back of the lens aperture.

My point being that it's almost contrary to the point of GE to use heavily compressed images in areas of special scientific or public interest. I appreciate the need for compression in general, to facilitate delivery and storage requirements, however, it's counter-productive to include the heavily compressed sections in popular GE 'destinations', and not make the space and bandwidth savings, in less well visited areas of the globe.
@spikeychops As for there being sunken cities around the world, i see this as being self evident from the many sunken cities already discovered and being discovered, by mainstream archeology. I am not however, implying or confirming from my comments that this video represents such a sunken city, and not artifacts from image compression (which it probably is), i am arguing that it's senseless to place heavily compressed images that produce such artifacts, in areas where GE users frequent.

The entire surface of the earth has been photographed at least over 2000 times over the past 50 years.

There may be other resources available to view any given area, but not necessarily routinely available in a popular and accessible format, pitched specifically at the general public, like GE is. Many recent discoveries of archaeological significance ARE being made, by genuine professional (as opposed to 'armchair') researchers using GE, not so bad for a 'reference' tool.
Im a marine surveyor, so im looking across images of block blue alot of the time, what your seeing here in these lakes is whats called LRF or lens resonance feedback. Basicaly your seeing into the back of the lens aperture. Thats why these lines look like a circuit board.

Second these are camera's meaning they have a sensor that the light is reflected on witch great the image. There is no ceruitboard there only pixels! Hence the XX mega-pixel camera's!
@Iliketoburststuff If the images were taken by THE SAME satellite camera, then I don't think your theory stands. A simple test shows why: pause the screen at 0:24, take a screenshot, pause the screen at 0:59, take another screenshot. Compare both screenshots. The one at 0:59 shows a smaller part of the "circuit board" than the one at 0:24. Assuming this "board" remains the same, the former should correspond to some portion of the latter. Unfortunately, it doesn't.

I'm an electrical engineer. When I looked at those images I recognized printed circuit board technology immediately. Of course I didn't have any explanation of how they got there until I read your explanation, which could explain how microscopic IC patterns could get projected into an image.

The surrounding mountains are covered in snow. Perhaps the end of the ice age melting a lot of it flooded out anchient cities at lower altitudes forming the lakes. Interesting, but I'm more interested in what we're classifying strips on mars for.

ill admit i thought you were full of crap at first but i looked up a map to the temple in lake titicaca that you mentioned they found. the place marked on the map where the temple was found also bares the same markings. the coordinates to this temlpe are 16 29'35.48" s 69 3'58.86"w. you can see it is very large. the road they followed to find the temple can also be seen just to the southwest. very interesting! you may be on to something here!
As a digital professional and amateur satellite junky, I believe the "Structures" that are seen in a couple of the various lake beds present perfect geometrical patterns that are way to meticulous in there formation which leads me to believe that the digital artifacts argument cannot account for this in the imagery. Its worth an expedition!

This is almost the same thing as in the Mars ancient ruins anomalies they claim as ancient structures. I think it is part of the pixelization inefficiency of our photo sensors today. You can almost see this kinds of images on clear water that looks like computer boards or infrastructures.

The patterns you see in these lakes are identical to the patterns on CCD imaging sensor chips used in many digital imaging satellite camera systems. It is simply a reflection of the CCD sensor in the lens of the camera.
If you can find a diagram or photo of the actual CCD sensor used in the satellite that took the image, then you can take the patterns in the lakes and match them up perfectly with areas of the printed CCD circuit.

Unfortuantley I think this is just a trick of the camera. Go to google earth. Google "atalaya" near Cusco in Peru. The river urubamba/ucayali next to the town of Atalaya exhibits the same patterns. I know the river well and there are definately no structures there. Sorry - if you want a real mystery look into the cuban underwater pyramids/city that an oil company is about to blow to bits.....

You'll notice that all of the lines run exactly screen-up-down and screen-left-right. In the highly unlikely event that these actually were real structures, these would be considerably more organic in form. Consider for instance: 8°20'33.40"S, 74°59'28.61"W
This is obviously part of an old river bed - not formed by aliens or people.
Yet there are the same straight lines. Hence, these are artifacts of the photo compression mechanism used by Google Earth.

I also believe what you are seeing in these photos is a reflection from the rear of the satalite lense. There is no doubt in my mind though, that many of our early civilizations were centered around coastlines and lake shores that are now under water due to climate change resulting in higher sea levels. It isnt that these citys were "hidden" so much as flooded by natural iceage cycles.

These anomalies aren't actual under water cities. If you look at these coords in google earth you'll notice its right next to one of the anomalies shown in the video, the shadows on the mountains east of the lake show the same weird city like formations. Thus proving the Marine surveyor's theory to be right. 8°51'26.51"S 77°37'31.45"W
coords are pretty much right on the shadowed mountains.

Pixels, try it with the sky for example, take one or 2 pics of it, then put it on edit, zoom to the max into it, you'll see the same... it works with virtually anything else. Too much zooming in create lines and squares, theses patterns. That's why some of the 'cities' on Mars are boggus.The Marine Surveyor below is right.

Read my comments below and tell me why there are no signs or evidence of civilization beyond the edges of the lake? Why are there no nearby structures, no roads, paths or trails leading into the lakes?
You should change the title of this video to 'Satellite Anomalies in the Andes of Peru' because these patterns exist in thousands of locations in Google Earth.
Stop thinking these are real. Those patterns have nothing to do with reality.

The lens resonance issue is a common problem with many CCD devices and is more likely to be the cause of this effect in the case of satellite imagery... especially when there is a distinct lack of compression artifacts elsewhere in the image (which would disqualify that explanation).

I myself am a former digital artist and digital imaging professional and I can tell you that what you are seeing here are image compression artifacts... areas where the actual pixel and color information of a raster image has been removed to make the file smaller.
These compression artifacts appear in many Google Earth/Maps images and can also be found in many shadowed areas where it is known that no shapes like these exist.
Sorry, but this is a dead end mystery...

@radionactive So, it's a routine and normal thing for Google to bring out a program like G.E., that relies heavily on detailed, and downloadable imagery, only to compress the hell out parts of that imagery, parts that hold particular interest and intrigue to a great many users, yet the priority would be to compress to keep the file size small.
Seems to me the opposite would be the goal. I could understand showing lower res imagery in remote wilderness areas, like Siberia etc, but not here.

Yes, that's correct.
The images streaming to your computer from the Google Earth servers are all in compressed .jpeg format. Satellites send RAW data back to earth which is then converted into standard uncompressed TIFF format for maximum detail. Google compress the images in order to make things run faster and more reliably. Everyone would need fibre running into their homes to run a Google Earth that used nothing but satellite TIFF images.
The bandwidth needed would be huge!

Anyway, it is already confirmed to be an introduced pattern. The reason for this is because there are currently over one thousand locations on Google Earth where you will find them. Over two thirds of those locations are found in areas where it is 100% known not to exist. In other words, areas where planes have flown over, or where people already live and nothing exists there... even though Google Earth seems to indicate so.

It's nuts to heavily compress an image to the point of producing prominent artifacting, of an area that holds interest for online researchers.
Perhaps, this is a deliberate move on the part of the google earth team, in order to obfuscate an area for whatever reason.

So, what explanation do you have for these patterns showing up in areas where there is a predominant level of cyan in the image (a color that is known to cause problems with imaging equipment) as well as the same patterns showing up in hundreds of mountain shadows, hundreds of public swimming pools, shallow areas of water off the Bahamas (where no patterns exist) as well as many manmade structures and some salt mines/rice paddies?
What we are seeing here is a digital artifact.

Ever wondered why some of these patterns appear to be identical to CCD or CMOS sensing circuits? I've read that digital cameras can sometimes capture the rear of the lens aperture, right where the image sensor circuit sits. Normally, when there is no detail to capture, the image will either record a solid area of color or, given the right lighting conditions, record the internal reflection of the image sensor circuit on the back of the lens aperture.
I think some further study should be done.

My point being that it's almost contrary to the point of GE to use heavily compressed images in areas of special scientific or public interest. I appreciate the need for compression in general, to facilitate delivery and storage requirements, however, it's counter-productive to include the heavily compressed sections in popular GE 'destinations', and not make the space and bandwidth savings, in less well visited areas of the globe.

I am not however, implying or confirming from my comments that this video represents such a sunken city, and not artifacts from image compression (which it probably is), i am arguing that it's senseless to place heavily compressed images that produce such artifacts, in areas where GE users frequent.

@radionactive Look, you're obviously unable to have an unbiased conversation about this, for whatever reason. There may be other resources available to view any given area, but not necessarily routinely available in a popular and accessible format, pitched specifically at the general public, like GE is. Many recent discoveries of archaeological significance ARE being made, by genuine professional (as opposed to 'armchair') researchers using GE, not so bad for a 'reference' tool.

Im a marine surveyor, so im looking across images of block blue alot of the time, what your seeing here in these lakes is whats called LRF or lens resonance feedback. Basicaly your seeing into the back of the lens aperture. Thats why these lines look like a circuit board.

@Iliketoburststuff If the images were taken by THE SAME satellite camera, then I don't think your theory stands. A simple test shows why: pause the screen at 0:24, take a screenshot, pause the screen at 0:59, take another screenshot. Compare both screenshots. The one at 0:59 shows a smaller part of the "circuit board" than the one at 0:24. Assuming this "board" remains the same, the former should correspond to some portion of the latter. Unfortunately, it doesn't.

Pausing longer on the UWAs would allow your viewers to evaluate whether these are jpeg compression artifacts or something else. Most will have, or take, the time to go to your website.

The surrounding mountains are covered in snow. Perhaps the end of the ice age melting a lot of it flooded out anchient cities at lower altitudes forming the lakes. Interesting, but I'm more interested in what we're classifying strips on mars for.

ill admit i thought you were full of crap at first but i looked up a map to the temple in lake titicaca that you mentioned they found. the place marked on the map where the temple was found also bares the same markings. the coordinates to this temlpe are 16 29'35.48" s 69 3'58.86"w. you can see it is very large. the road they followed to find the temple can also be seen just to the southwest. very interesting! you may be on to something here!

As a digital professional and amateur satellite junky, I believe the "Structures" that are seen in a couple of the various lake beds present perfect geometrical patterns that are way to meticulous in there formation which leads me to believe that the digital artifacts argument cannot account for this in the imagery. Its worth an expedition!
