How do people not learn from exact similiar incidents...i know most of the young people are simply ignorant to the Gulf of Tonkin incident but even the old people who lives through the Gulf of Tonkin, the moment those 3 buildings came down on 9/11...Red Flags should have went straight the fuck up in every old persons head but instead, its the young people who question 9/11.

This ignorance and lack of logical thinking is going to be the downfall of this country in the future.

Johnson was a SOB, he wanted that war and he got it. Making things up in the Tonkin area, simplicity at its best. God, how many young Americans fell for this and went to war and died for this lie. I tried this strategy when I lived in Florida. A neighbor of mine had hit on and insulted my gf. He had also been caught peeping in my windows and later harrassing. I tried this patrol boat thing a few times to coax him over to my property many time so I could blow his fucking head off. Funny thing is, due to work we moved away. A couple months later he died in a car accident. Honest, it wasn't me, I swear! Although I do even smile now, knowing he's one dead asshole. =)

There was no proof whatsoever the August 4, 1964 event ever happened. The second event was a fraud and never happened and even the Gunners Mate shown on this video even says there was no Vietnamese Patrol boats on the August 4 1964 incident. The US instigated the first event under Operation 34A and then completely lied about the second event.

The US could not have bombed the communist back to the stone age, because a good number of them were already there. The aid from the Soviets, and China via Russia (the stuff the Chinese did not steal for themselves) did not really start pouring in until the US ramped up the bombing attacks.

The North Vietnam, was in fact using terrorism and murder to influence things int he south, however the US was supporting South Vietnam raids into the North logistically hence the first Maddox incident.

The second incident, was most likely radar/radio problems and over zealous/antsy crew keyed up.

The Johnson administration trying to find an excuse (to validate attacking the North in front of the international community and keep other Communist nations out the war) seized upon this and used the so-called "attack" to bomb.

Because of this, the Soviets increased their support ten fold, North Vietnam decided to openly and fully support the semi-independent VC/NFL.
