  • What can I say but a great effort but my advice is to concentrate a bit less on looking cool and polish up what you are playing, try introducing some muted notes in the main riff as this is a regular feature in the playing styles of Steve Clarke and Phil Collen, superb job though.

  • what is your setup on your GUITAR?

  • @scottyboiLP ....all tone knobs and volume knobs are full

  • @Kapiwolf123 like what is your tuning(i can play the main part) . but dod you have humbuckers or pick ups

    ?

  • rock solid!!!

  • I love the Clifford Dog in the background...

  • THE WORST SOUND IV EVER HEARD FROM A LES PAUL!!!!

  • Wow! That was great !! That's coming from a 47-year-grandmother, me ! I have been listening to Def Leppard since I was 23! Keep going, you're wonderful !

  • That was cool. Nice Les Paul.

  • Hey Kapiwolf. I was a Def Leppard fan as a teenager in the 1980's. Googled youtube Def Lappard for a trip down memory lane and you came up. You are a talent. Do us all a favour and keep going. Skill can be learned - talent like yours is rare. Pitch perfect. Don't listen to the haters. There will be plenty. Throw them a deaf ear. They are going nowhere. Unlike you. Good luck fella. See your name in lights some time?

  • Polak?

  • exquisite

  • Steve would be proud.

  • Please do the world a favor, and play guitar for a living! WE need more people like you!

  • Good stuff

  • You look like the drummer.

  • wat harmonizer pedal u using?

  • @tenkuunokage you're probably hearing chorus. i have a small amount of chorus on, no harmonizers

  • awesome video. how did u learn to play? i've messed around a little with tabs, notes, and playing by ear here and there.

  • dude, blazin job! the fact that there are kids out there listening to def leppard and not just jerkin off to garbage like drake gives me hope for the future.

keep playing and listening to awesome music!

  • Hey man great job, but i would like to point out a few things. Your harmonics do sound like they need a bit of work. That thing you play after them isn't right either. Not sure how to call it though, The bridge is fine, in fact I play it that way too. The chorus is fine. The start of the chorus is flat. The rest sounds alright. Maybe some mishit notes here and there, but it happens to every one. The ending of the chorus needs work too. Just some constructive criticism to help out.

  • I'm 13 too and I can play this song on guitar also.....I must say that you play it better than me, though. Very impressive! Fuck the others! This was awesome!

  • its good

    but keep practicing

  • you fn Rock dude!!

  • steve clark lives

  • Excellent cover of one of my all time favorite guitarists

  • Godd playing...impressive. It's best to not reply to others negative comments. it's not like you djautark or something. Getting into pissing matches with others simply shows you need a little more maturity. Keep playing and remember that you have nothing to prove to anyone.

  • u did awesome god bless danke

  • to the critics: there is more than one way to play a song.

  • Wow, wish I could do that. :\

  • Fucking great! Steve Clark will be more than proud. keep going you have one great icon.

  • Well done!!! Great to see someone your age that knows great music!! Keep it up!

  • Dobrze widzieć , że jeszcze ktoś pamięta o takich kapelach jak Def Leppard , myślałem ,że ten gatunek ludzi wymiera :)

  • good version

  • Very cool!

  • Goddamn that's good keep it up

  • I can't believe people slagging a 13 yr old kid off for this. The standard he is playing at in this video is fantastic for his age leave the guy alone or better still post your own efforts and see if you can match his.

Well done kapiwolf, keep on doing what you are doing you won't go far wrong.

  • anyone that wants to bash this kid needs to dig through the archives and find a video of them playing at 13 and post it..until then shut the hell up..odds are the people bashing him couldn't even tune the damn thing at his age..how many 13 yr olds listen to true music and attempt to pick up a 6 string and play it..keep rockin kapi

  • That red dog in the video can probably play better!

  • Ha Ha that's what I was thinking! But the kids 13 and listening to Def Leppard and thats a plus. Keep practicing. The kids never going to be Steve or Phil but he'll be a good one some day if he sticks with it.

  • go back & listen to yourself, you'll see that you ARE out of tune. parts you play don't always have to be perfect, but hearing the mistakes you make is the best way to correct them.Playing it wrong too long will make it harder to play it right when you realize what you're doing!

  • Love it. Rock on, my man.....

  • where did you get the tabs??

  • i didn't

  • @Kapiwolf123

Good job dude i wish i could play that and learn it by ear.

  • great dancer!!

  • I said it before and I'll say it again....

    Steve would be proud!

Keep up the great playing man!

    Great job!

  • not unlistenable but not good. you need to work on your timing and general playing dynamics. There are a lot of right hand problems in your playing.

  • remember he is only 13! i know ur right but come on and give him a break! it was good

  • you r very good i wish i could play like that ro even play a guitar at all u r very very good

  • very damn good :]

  • outstanding i gona show ur video to my neph he got 13 and is learning play the guitar but he desesperates a lot i hope see uy vid he caln down and keepit up. GREAT JOB !!!!!

  • Rated you five stars. Only thing I would say is work on stage presence. Overall, OUSTANDING! Keep it up and continue to learn great music like this!

  • for the people picking on the kid for playing the intro, steve and phil went back and forth playing that live, it went i think steve, phil, phil, steve. for playing the whole thing it sounds neat. also the chorus has two layers live and like 4 on record. he plays steves live layer right i think.

  • Good job, Great to see a younger player playing some great classics and actually feeling it. What amp are you running thru?

  • 13 shit all i could do at that age was wack off!

  • Who the hell cares if he didn't play it perfect... Give one guitarist that can play "perfect" outside of the studio and I'll give you a gold star!!!

I can't speak for anyone else, but the reason I picked up the guitar, is BECAUSE I DON"T HAVE TO BE PERFECT!!!!

For a 13 year old playing a song at this level, well, it does my heart good. So while others are bitching that he didn't play it right, he's actually play it! I wonder who;s having more fun???

Always play what's in your soul!!!

  • Can´t post with my frumsgidonsjab account since I think he has banned me.

Well, I´m just pointing out the things he play wrong so he can improve. Amd if a guitarist play wrong just once or twice I think it´s ok. But he doesn´t play small misstakes. He thinks he plays right, but is wrong in the most parts. I´ve got nothing against him, and if I´ve sounded hostile I want to apoligise for that. But I still think he would learn the song properly.

  • well if my playing is as bad as your grammar. then god help me...but it isn't

  • best cover of hysteria ;)

  • Great job kid! Keeep it up!

  • Well, I can say the parts you play wrong.

THe harmonics in the beginning. You only play on the 7th fret. They play it on both 5th and 7th.

The thing after the harmonics. You play it on the 7-9th fret, steve played it on 5-7th and used the b string.

    Verse you play right.

On the bridge you forget to pick the last 3 notes every time.

In the chorus you play the last notes wrong.

After that it´s wrong harmonics again.

In the solo you almost play it right, but atleast the 3 last notes are wrong.

  • you're a dumbass. I guess you dont know the guitar well. A 7th fret harmonic on the G string is the same as a 5th fret harmonic on the D string smart one. The "thing" I play after, I play it in an octave higher cause That's how I like it. The chorus is played correctly, it's identical to Steve's part.

  • You're an ass. Leave the kid alone and go back to your garage. Even EVH said he never played covers note for note. Shit he doesn't even play his own songs note for note. Get over yourself.

  • No I'm not from def leppard, but I can play the song and I think everybody that isn't tone deaf could hear that you play wrong alot.

  • ok. check back in a month and see if there's going to be a comment that's like yours expert man.

P.S: I dont delete my comments

  • you played almost all riffs wrong, You need to listen more, because it was only 1 riff you did right from what i heard.

  • wtf are you talking about? are you from Def Leppard? I guess not.

  • love it! great job

  • Good Stuff!!!

  • The boys would be proud kid, good job.

    Keep at it.

  • Steve would be proud! Great job man...Keep it up...You're doing awesome!

  • On ya bro.. There is hope. Perth. W.A.

  • great dude thats awesome i went to see leppard last year they rock

  • hey can you help me with the begining with the squling i need to know how to play that

  • it's just harmonics on the 5th and 7th thret, i took it out by ear :)

  • man im 13 and im goin to see def leppard for the second time in my life this august they put on like da best shows and they all like 50 lol

  • GO FOR IT

  • you're pretty good dude!

    keep at it.

  • why all the neg waves? wtf lol.

  • uh...neg waves?

  • Well Freekin done!! Not at easy as it looks. The effects, timing and passion are crucial....good job ..keep playin man you have a special gift!!!!!!!!

  • Were did u get tabs 4 this?

  • I did it by ear

  • good playing.. but this song is so easy to play..i dont know how to play it but i do play the guitar . by the looks of it , seems very easy lol.. i can play fast solos so this so song should be very easy to play...nice playing though I LOVE THIS SONG

  • Great job! Even Clifford the Big Red Dog was diggin' it!!!

  • that is motherfucking brilliant man! great work!! LOOVE this song! :D

  • nice and this comment is 2 every 1 i want u to post a video of sum 1 singing a def leppard 2 c how good they r becuz im not to bad

  • You play cool, but are so "poser"...

  • poser=guitar player credentials ;)

  • It's good, and can be much better, but that is not the attitude of a rocker.

  • dude you really rock you should get a kahler tremolo on there ! just like Steve did

  • u lil shit haha, joking, great job, im 40 and trying to play this u make it look easy, i`ll get it, one day steve is giving u thumbs up im sure, peace

  • exellent , i wish i could play like that . one day maybe..

  • love it , great sound

  • Steve would be very proud of you. You are excellent and i have a lot of respect for you. nice guitar.

    (;

  • wow your brill!

I am a huge fan of Def Leppard and that is my fav song ever. I have just started playing guitar, and a want to be able to play that song. I know am a long way of since ave just started lol. Thanks for the video. :P

  • Steve would be proud

  • Hey man absolutely great. This is the first conert I ever watched, this being my favorite and first song learned how to play. One ? though right after the hamonic intro what is that little ho or po lick he uses live and that u mimic so well

  • a kid version of Steve Clark

  • what kinda camera do you got for video taping this?

  • When it comes right down to the moves and even the presence which is also, i think very Important... It is , like I said before, "You Have Got It", Yes I would like to see U on stage with Def Leppard, You deserve to be there, man. =)

  • nice pressence dude.

  • really a good perfomance!! Yuo'll be a guitar hero !.. how old are you??? i'm from italy and Big Leppard! fan .. Leps rules!!

  • Look dude, I finally got my version recorded! I stuck a video response on here

  • Dam!!!!! Your a legend Mate!!!! nice work

  • oh my goshhh haha i need that thing so bad that makes your guitar sound like lepps guitars.

  • its just the guitar plugged straight into the amp. ;P

  • no way? you dont use the art sgx 2000 express? damn nice amp then.. and your guitar is sick! gibsons are the bommbb

  • Good job!!!

  • If you like Steve Clark so much why don't play Gods of War since he made the main riff of the song. especially the version on the dvd you have.

  • I considered putting it up...idk yet

  • I'm in my parents house w/ a stuffed animal in the picture no less!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow...you're gay

  • Dude...Your terrible!

  • Pretty Frickin Bad...

  • How bout sruff past the Steve Clark Era,like White Lightning?

  • I only learn Steve Clark songs ;P Anything after doesn't interest me.

  • R u a Steve Fan Too?

    How bout Wasted?

  • there's no point of putting up an easy song like that, if I have videos tht are above tht level..

  • Wut other videos u got?

  • Awesome song and cover GJ i wonder how much all that gear in your room is worth though i'm jealous hahaha :P

  • i think this is a great tune and always preferred this intro and version. i think you did a great job!!! party on!

  • Steve Clark was considered somewhat sloppy in his playing, as well as playing down near his knees, but what was brought out most in his playing was- HEART! He would've been proud. This is the song I would want to play most if I played the guitar- both parts (Phil and Steve's). I loved the live version also, and you done a great job. Forget some negatives from others- keep up the good work!

  • nice your a little off key but its good stuff i wasent even playing at 14 so your better than me

  • OUT-STANDING! Phil wishes he could have played that at your age! Keep Rockin!!!

  • i know your young keep working, but you in the wrong key on every note your playing, learning from ear doesnt help you unless your a very experianced musician, learn from books and take your time there are tabs for everything,go back and listen to you playing youll hear your out of tune

  • um.... no I'm not

  • if you raise the guitar up some you will be able to play much faster down the road .... just a tip. I know it's cool but not the best way to learn

  • best way to learn? I agree, but I've been playing like that all my life. I think I got pretty far with a guitar that low....I'm 14 and I play Metallica's One and M.O.P...have you seen the videos?

  • what I mean is playing for learning lead riffs.hetfield plays low but he plays mostly rythem. you will notice hammet plays much higher because thats the only way to play blisteringly fast.

playing real low is fine if you just want to be a rythem player all your life.nothing wrong with that. rock on

  • Jimmy Page has his guitar down to his knees. Is he a rhythm player??????? NO =] He blasts solo's like on Stairway to Heaven as if it was bread with butter. And I play M.O.P with my guitar low, am I playin rhythm? nope =] I'm playing Hammet's part

  • jimmy page is also sloppy. you can play lead like that...but i think he was referring to shred type leads.

  • Hey man.Me and Def Leppards own Steve Clark use knee length guitars as well. Can u play ne other Def Leppard tracks?

  • i know a lot of Def Leppard, but I just put up my favorite ones.

  • i hope kapi not be 2 cool 4 skul. Def Rulz. don't drul kapiwolf

  • alright.

  • sweet, do u mind if i could get those tabs from u??

cuz i havnt quite gotten the hang of self tabbing songs

  • I don't feel like tabbing it

the beginning is just natural harmonics above the 7th fret.

observe my video, you just get the hang of it. It's not that different from the Studio version

  • kick ass!

    ure awsome.

did u learn this on ure own or find the tabs??

  • on my own =]

there aren't any tabs for this..as far as I know. ;)

  • alright, but you should really think about getting a haircut!

  • ur probly a lazy cunt that sits down and eats chips twisted fuck

  • and you're probably a lonely homer, who has no life =]

  • u suk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dude, you rock. I love the harmonics in the live version.

  • thank you, and I love the harmonics too. That's why I played the live version, not the studio.

  • I have seen poeple copy this song But you are really good, Excellent infact wll done

  • Dude ur pretty dam good, how long have u been playing?

  • thanks a lot! 5 years =]

  • Pretty damn awesome...

  • what are you using to get that mega sustain?

  • lol, I don't use any effects other than a mild chorus that's in the amp...my fingers do the trick! ;D

  • very awesome man. I like it

  • That sounded awesome. I am amazed you're only 13-14. Keep up the good work.

  • sounds great

  • Dude you are so talented! How long did it take you to learn to play the guitar? Your guitar is sweet too! This is classic... Hysteria is full of melody and is the perfect song!

  • DUDE, you're awesome... by far one of the best (not professional) performances of my favourite song... although, def leppard is not a band a guy your age listens, so i bet you have a sibbling or a parent who knows def lepp's songs.. congrats, man

  • great

  • you mean by, seeing Def Leppard on a concert? nope

  • Hey - nice job kid. You have talent! Keep playing and putting up vids.

  • That was great! I wish i could do that.

  • very good man! i love the solo in hysteria, full of emotion.

  • agreed, very slow but powerful in a way, you know?

  • yeah totally (i think) steve plays the outro solos, even if he doesnt, it still makes me have a shiver down my spine and i feel a bit sad to the fact that such a great talent died so young. I like Def Leppards stuff after him but its nowhere near as good.

  • Hey Kapi - My wife and I want to adopt you. Wanna live in Australia and play Def Leppard as loud as you want all day long? Nice work mate! Keep it up

  • omg u are a guitarist !!!! that is sooo freakin hot !!!!!!!!!!!

    really sorri bout that

  • I was 13 years old when i heard DEF LEPPARD for the first time! 1987, 20 years later I went to my first DEF LEPPARD concert in DALLAS, TX!

they're the greatest rock band ever!!

  • Nice. Keep up the good work. Great to hear Lep through a Gibson too. Perhaps your the next Steve Clark. Lep needs that Gibson sound back in a bad way.

  • nice, is that a Gibson?

  • yup

  • Hey can you e-mail the tabs for this live version, cause i can't find them anywhere, you can look up my e-mail address it would be nice to hav this tab, thx.

  • i didnt use a tab, there isn't one for the live version (from what I know). I've done this by ear.

  • I know there isn't one, I know most of the song i just can't figure out all of the steve clark parts, that is really what I need, I got all the parts collins plays.

  • try figuring it out, by observing my vid.

  • I'll try, by the way what brand of multi-effects pedal is that?

  • none :), I CURRENTLY have effects now.. but in this vid...no effects other than a extremely light chorus which is in the amp :/

  • Oh ok, cool well i just got to go practice now, i haven't played my guitar full on in over a month so i need to get to it. Good job keep up the good work

  • ohmygod, raf you got so many comments. HAHA. loveyou. x
