And, yes, UCBerkeley bought the Berkeley campus. They had always wanted to own the Berkeley campus and they now do own it. It's currently called Clark Kerr Campus.
If I remember RIGHT... #1, CSDB bought Fremont campus in 1974 more towards because of the expense of maintain the maintenance of the buildings on Berkeley campus which was excessively too expensive than buying a new campus and build the whole new campus. #2, Deaf students were in BIG FAVOR of relocating to Fremont campus while Blind students opposed the move. Blind school were forced to move to Fremont campus. The Deaf students regretted later.
