Congressmen Neugebauer is entitled to his opinion, but I believe it was inappropriate to shout an outburst. Hey just google the NEJ of medicine for the info. The doctors main concern is that they are over burdened now and then with the influx of more people and with a possible reduction of pay, it is not worth the hassle of dealing with govt.

People do have long waits, have to set appoitments for simple procedures and have had their health put a risk because of a lack of speed for treatment.

Ask yourself why we have a growth in Medical Tourism with US citizens traveling to the Philippines, Indonesia and India for surgeries and you might start to see the light.

For health care in Canada you may have to wait...but your health is never in risk....no more than it is now in the US. Not only that you can go to ANY hospital in Canada and get help...NO charge...NO refusals because of prior condition...if it is an emergency you get care IMMEDIATELY!

And I believe the PM of Canada came over here for treatment, but then again so many people coming over here for treatment it is hard to keep track.

The UK system (the NHS) is a single-payer, universal health care system with which the British people are very pleased. The system in Germany is subsidized by the government, so that health insurance providers basically have a "public option". So we do have good models

We also tend to agree, don't we, that once a fetus is viable it is generally unjust to casually abort it when it could survive outside its mother. Hey just google the NEJ of medicine for the info. The doctors main concern is that they are over burdened now and then with the influx of more people and with a possible reduction of pay, it is not worth the hassle of dealing with govt.

Those few documented reports are the exception not what people that I know who live in Europe experience.

Ask yourself why we have a growth in Medical Tourism with US citizens traveling to the Philippines, Indonesia and India for surgeries and you might start to see the light.

The UK system (the NHS) is a single-payer, universal health care system with which the British people are very pleased. The system in Germany is subsidized by the government, so that health insurance providers basically have a "public option". So we do have good models

I find it funny how at first ignorant people say Obama did NOTHING and now when he signs a BIG FUCKIN DEAL that will change health for the better, people say his idea of change is awful. Our Forefathers gave their lives so we could have freedom. We are giving that freedom back to the government just to make our lives more comfortable. Top it off with the fact that we are willing to kill another human being in the process. Yes, we need to help mothers who have an unplanned pregnancy, but never do we have the right to take a life because it's not easy for us or that the life may not have the quality we think it should.ALL life is & should be precious, just as our forefathers said.

maybe the government should stop giving tax deductions and public assisantance for people with kids,and make parents pay the bulk of taxes for schools, and this would discourage low income , single and teenage women and the unfit parent from burdening the rest of us with their poor life choices!

Poor baby. Stupak looks like a boob from both sides: on the liberal side, he pissed them off by delaying things unnecessarily. On the conservative, pro-life side he made everyone think that he'd stand up to this, but caves with the insertion of an easily revocable executive order. (And it WILL be revoked.) I don't care abt. the abortion issue one way or another, but I don't think it should be funded by my taxes either. But Stupak deserves what he gets from both sides.

So who gets to decide if the pregnancy goes forward? You might want to take that right away from the irresponsible drug whore who would just as soon throw a baby in the trash, but you don't get to decide for a woman able to think for herself. Not only do these idiots want to decide for a pregnant woman but they then turn around and vote against the health care bill that could benefit the pregnant woman they insist has the baby! @dartsp That is such a weak argument. Women that can think for themselves can CHOOSE (there's your magic word) to abstain or be responsible with sex. Pro-lifers aren't taking choice away from anyone. And for the exceptional cases (like rape), I don't think many pro-lifers are opposed to those abortions.

@JPMartin5 it is an interesting question. The answer is, we pretty much all agree that at birth a child is entitled to the full protection of the law. We also tend to agree, don't we, that once a fetus is viable it is generally unjust to casually abort it when it could survive outside its mother. But the early days of fetal development make it completely dependent on mother, and her human rights and bodily autonomy must remain intact. Agreed? And if you don't want to abort your fetus, don't?

Expecting civility and decorum from todays Republican Party is like expecting good behaviour from a detention class.
This is a Party that has been lying to it's constituants for so long, they have no idea what the truth is anymore.
